Mizuki stared at him uncertainly, knowing she should try to relax. He was just a kid. He wouldn't do anything! But she was so tense. She just couldn't rid herself of those images... But when he said he wasn't alright, she tried to focus upon what he was saying, her expression looking almost concerned. "..Seems... you did.." she murmured quietly, her voice a little hoarse from crying. When he commented about her face, she quickly dropped her hand back by her side, and it soon found the other and her hands began fidgeting on nothing. "N-no, it's alright!" she insisted suddenly. "You don't have to go. Or I... could take you to the right place, if you want?" She shifted slightly in place, looking him over. And before she even realized what she was doing, for she surely would have stopped herself, she'd stepped forward and wrapped her arms gently around him, pulling him into a light hug. She closed her eyes, fighting the urge to start crying again. She was.. unstable at the moment, to say the least. But for now she held them in, just hugging the little boy. She was seeking comfort as much as she was giving it.

Dorei suddenly felt Mizuki's arms around him and sighed, feeling sudden emotions surge through him. He could practically feel what Mizuki was feeling, and then the next thing he knew, his consciousness had almost completely left the dorm room he was in. He was remembering one of the times he and his other half unleashed the epitaph. His eyes in the real world were wide in shock, tears starting to well up.
He had been standing on a beach and a group of boys was bullying and picking on him, and since he was so passive and reluctant to use his powers, he was being pushed around rather easilly. Suddenly, he heard a girl's voice pierce through the tormenting laughter of the other boys. "HEY! LEAVE HIM ALONE!" She was shouting angrilly. The boys smacked her across the face and she fell to the ground, taken aback by the blow. "That... Is... It..." She had growled on that day.
She recited the awakening spell and Dorei could already feel the oddness of the body he had transformed into. Gorre the Machinator. He could hear the other half screaming. "Well!? What are you doing!? Get payback!" Then the next thing he knew, she was abusing the link she had to him. She was controlling him. Suddenly, bubbles of water surrounded each boy and they drowned quickly. Dorei was under control of his other half and could do nothing but cry as the boys were killed by his own hand.
He suddenly found himself standing back in that room and felt tears spring from his eyes and roll down his cheeks. He never wanted to hurt a thing, and she had used him. The force of the memory being brought to the forefront of his thoughts hit full force and he immediately dropped to his knees, out of the embrace, and into a fit of sobs. He buried his face in his hands and wept as the child he was. He hated that memory. It was one of the worst he had. Everytime he and his other half had used the epitaph, something terrible had happened.

Mizuki suddenly remembered why she shouldn't have touched him. It hit her like a ton of bricks, breaking through her urge to comfort him. But, by now it was too late. She was already seeing a beach. There were a group of boys gathered around tormenting a young boy, who she recognized almost instantly as Dorei. She bit her lip hard, but didn't move. She knew that she couldn't do anything. She was seeing yet another memory and she had to let it play out. She didn't know how to escape, and she knew for certain that she couldn't change anything.
She wrapped her arms around herself, shuddering once as she looked on helplessly. Her head turned as a girl approached, only to be struck by one of the boys. But then she began reciting, and suddenly Dorei had changed. He was in no way the little boy she recognized. Mizuki's eyes widened in alarm, and she watched, unable to look away, as he killed the boys that'd been messing with him.
And then, suddenly, she was back in the room, hugging the boy, who was back to normal. Though, she knew he hadn't really changed. Just a memory... She sprang back, landing on her butt as her legs gave out. She stared up at him through wide eyes, silent tears pouring out. But as she watched him, he started sobbing, falling to his knees. She bit her lip, her own tears falling still without any sign of letting up. But she crawled on hands and knees towards him, hesitated, then haltingly wrapped her arms back around him. She squeezed her eyes shut and rubbed his back lightly. "Shhh..." she murmured quietly, her voice's shakiness poorly concealed. She was scared, terrified, but she couldn't just let him stay like this, crying alone. She'd just been crying alone for who knew how long, and it was horrible..

Dorei sobbed into Mizuki's shoulder as she held him. "I... Hate... That... So... Badly..." He sobbed quietly. "She used me... She made me kill them..." He whimpered as he clung to Mizuki. The area around his neck put off a gentle, glowing light as he thought of these things and spoke while he cried. The collar and chain that linked him to the other half of Gorre the Machinator. He couldn't help but reah up and feel it around his neck before it disappeared again. All he wanted was freedom. Freedom from the life of pain and suffering he would be forced to live so long as he was half of Gorre the Machinator. He was sobbing uncontrollably, yammering on about his memory despite the fact that if Mizuki were a normal person, she'd have no idea what he was talking about. He hated his life. All he wished for was freedom. Freedom from pain, freedom from sufferng, freedom from killing, freedom from dying. Just one plain and simple word. Freedom.

Mizuki held him tightly, keeping her eyes shut. She was extremely tense, expecting another memory to spring up at any moment. But none seemed to be coming. He was whimpering and rambling and she listened quietly, trying to make sense of it. "Shh, it's ok.. it's ok now..." she murmured, trying to speak clearly through her own tears. Her voice was soft, but still a bit shaky. There was nothing she could do about that. She swayed lightly in place, still holding him gently to herself and rubbing his back. "It's ok..." But at the same time she couldn't help wondering, why her? Why did she keep seeing these things? She needed to get it under control somehow, but she had no idea how to go about doing it... "It's ok..."

Satisfied that Endur would forgive her for stabbing him, and sure that he'd make a full recovery, Ashori had finally allowed herself to leave the hospital. One boy, Kiba, had offered to help her back, but she saw that he hadn't wanted to leave his sister alone with Endur, so she'd assured him she was fine. Although, she probably looked like she was drunk. She kept staggering every now and then, and wasn't walking in a very straight line.
The faint scent of blood still lingered around her, despite her having changed clothing. The hospital had graciously provided an oversized white shirt and matching pair of pants, and kept her ruined dress to dispose of themselves. Her tail was flicking sluggishly behind her as she stumbled slowly forward, and her hair was messy, almost hiding both eyes, instead of just the right.
The dorm building was in sight when she found something odd. There was a very strange scent nearby, one that was also very familiar. She just managed to catch it over the scent of her own blood. Her head turned, and there stood a boy not too far off. She stared at him silently, her eyes widening a bit in surprise. His scent... Why was it similar to hers? Who was he?

"Ah, geez..."
He supposed he should have paid more attention to exactly WHICH dormitory complex he was heading toward. It was too late now, however, and it was only after he finally tore his eyes from the ground that he managed to keep from crashing into somebody - a girl - by stopping dead and swaying violently for a moment or so before regaining his balance.
"Argh!" he exclaimed, in way of greeting. He glared at her. "Get outta the way!"

Ashori stepped back quickly when he nearly crashed into her, and very nearly fell over backwards. Instead she managed to stay on her feet, and stared up at him through wide eyes, one hand now clutching her pounding head. "I-I'm sorry..." she stammered weakly. She swayed in place, tilting, and had to take a couple steps to the side to keep from falling.
After she'd recovered, she looked over him again, as if trying to find any simularities between herself and him. But, she didn't see any. At least, not obvious ones. "Are... you new here?" she asked tentatively, her hands fidgeting nervously in front of herself. She watched the floor for a moment, then tilted her head back to look up at his face.

"No, I just enjoy prowling around the girl's dormitories," he growled back, before falling silent and realizing that it was, in fact, exactly what he looked like he was doing. "Yeah, I'm new!" A touch of crimson colored his features for a moment and he looked away, his hands slipping into his pockets as they stood opposite one another. After a moment, however, he glanced hesitantly back at her and looked her up and down.
"Hey...what's wrong with you?" he mumbled, his tone still unkind, but somewhat more gentle. "Are you drunk?"

Ashori flinched back and away, shutting her eyes for a second when he growled. But when he fell silent, she peeked one open again, glancing up at him uncertainly through a wave of black hair. A small bit of red had appeared in his face, and for a moment the faint traces of a smile tugged at her lips. Though, it vanished again as she nearly toppled over once more. Maybe she should've stayed in the hospital a little longer... But, she really hated those places. She'd be fine after a nap or... something. A long one.
When he asked about her, she looked at him, appearing confused at first, then smiling lightly. "N-no, I'm not drunk," she murmured quietly. "I'll be fine in a while..." However, she still had a hand clamped to her head, and if one looked close, they'd notice she was trembling with the effort to stay standing.

"Hmph," came the reply. Dark eyes looked her up and down again, his expression guarded. "You reek of blood."
A silence fell, and a strange look seemed to pass over Lake's face before he glanced away.
"...Come on," he said quietly, extending a hand and keeping his gaze averted from her. "Man, as if I need more trouble. Here, I'll help you."

Ashori blinked, looking taken aback at the mention of blood. She looked down at herself, then back up to him, hesitantly again, the small smile completely washed away. But, he could smell it? Did that mean he was like her? She frowned lightly and lowered her gaze to the ground, watching it nervously. She kept waiting for him to ask what had happened or... something. However, what she didn't expect was what he actually did.
Her head raised once more and she stared at him blankly, then to his hand. Her's shakily rose, after a second or two, and accepted his gently. She was slightly confused, because he was looking away, and he'd commented about not needing trouble and then offered to help almost in the same breath. "...thank you," she murmured, her voice near a whisper as she bowed her head. "It's right there so... it's not that far. S-sorry to trouble you."

"Yeah...sure...whatever," Lake grunted, not looking at her. He took her by the elbow for support and glanced warily toward the dorms in front of them.
What're the chances I'll be charged with sexual harrassment on my first day...?
He sighed, and began aiding her in silence. He wasn't entirely sure what he was doing, or why. Normally, he would have just left her there...it wasn't any of his business, after all. Who cared if she bled to death on the ground? Somebody would find her eventually...
"You know, usually people don't go wandering around drunk," he muttered, disregarding her earlier claim of being sober. "You'll end up doing something stupid. Not that I care." He looked away. "This one?" he added, stopping outside the door.

Ashori continued staring at the ground, feeling a little awkward. When he took her arm instead of her hand, a faint blush spread across her cheeks, and she simply bowed her head lower, so her hair was hiding her face almost completely. Her tail had curled itself around her waist as well, the tip flicking against the tender flesh of her freshly healed stomach. She winced a couple times, then willed it to spiral down her leg instead, away from the injury.
When he finally spoke up again, her head rose rather abruptly. "I-I'm not drunk!" she cried, her voice a little louder than before, but not quite the volume a normal protest would be. "I just got in a fight and-! And..." She bit her lip and trailed off, frowning towards the ground, the blush increasing a little in strength. She'd gotten in a fight... She hated fights. And she was so thin it probably looked like she'd snap in a strong wind. Now she was just hoping he wouldn't laugh or something at the idea.

Lake rolled his eyes. "Whatever. Picking fights when you're drunk isn't a good idea either, trust me."
He grabbed the door handle and pushed his shoulder against the plywood...it yawned open on its hinges, and he cast an awkward glance around the four walls before stepping inside.
'What are you DOING?'
'Shut up.'
"There," he muttered, looking sullen. He rubbed the back of his neck. "You, uh...should get some rest or something."
