Valtayvious rubbed the back of his head slightly.
Sorry, I just kind of...blurted that out without thinking. Hope I didn't make you feel uncomfortable or anything. Just want to make sure everybody stays safe on this journey.

Valtayvious returns the smile, running his hand through his hair.
You are more than welcome. I'd die before I let anything happen to anyone in this group, so none of you have anything to worry about.
He pulls the Demon Slayer out from underneath his coat and rests the blade gently on his shoulder.
I'll keep both eyes peeled for anything unusual. You just concentrate on getting us to where we need to be. If I see anything, get behind me, deal?

Xi laughs once more, enjoying the fact that the atmosphere seems to be loosening up. "My dear, adventure, good company, fresh air, the promise of a good fight, and last but most certainly not least, the smell of a challenge." another good laugh escapes him just before Valt and Teyra begin talking. Hearing what the other gentleman said put a warm grin on his face.

Zejx continued to follow, but at a very slow rate, was falling behind. I am putting them in danger just being here. Its better this way....
Yes, I agree. The farther you are from them, the closer I am to you....
Zejx let out a sigh. He really wished he knew what to do. Staying with them would put them in danger, but furthering himself seemed to fuel his other self. Either way, something bad was going to happen before this journey was over, He could feel it.

Valtayvious propped his sword up a little higher on his shoulder. His eyes were darting the landscape and sky behind his sunglasses. Then his sight lands on Xi.
Is there any other reason you might be joining us?

Xi looks to Valtayvious a moment, hes quite in consideration before he responds. "Redemption" he simply leaves it at that one word. It's not that he didnt wish to share his story, but more he was worried how the team would react if they found out who he was.

A heavy sigh escapes Xi's lips "The sins of others... the sins of over a thousand people, of my people, over a century ago. Like Teyra's people, my people are humans, but they're far from ordinary. I am trying to earn the salvation of atleast my own soul, if not the salvation of my people. I fight... to regain the grace of our god." His eyes come to the ground, knowing he'll probably be rediculed just as his people had done to him.

Xi nods "Yes, but it wasnt just one person's actions. It was the arrogance of an entire society. It's not just enough to punish those involved. To know that you have damned the innocent, condemned your children for generations upon generations. I feel that I was lucky enough to only be stuck with what I did as opposed to eternal guilt." He looks to Marin and nods. "'The Unforgiven' was the name we were given once the rest of the world learned of what had happened. For a time nearly everyone knew of it... and then no one cared and soon after we were all but forgotten..."

Valtayvious looks over his shoulder at Marin. He doesn't say anything at first. Instead he goes back to looking straight in front of him, shaking his head.
If it is redemption you seek Xi, then redemption you shall have.
