Assaulted two steps in...how nice. Well Darvien had him up off the ground, simple task for a man of his size to do to the little vampire that Xearus was. The yelling didn't register till his head was forced to the side with a slap. Okay, listening now.
"What? Fed? No! You told me I couldn't hunt, and I haven't, which means I haven't fed..." So help Marx...if this went badly, it would be his fault. Xearus would break his fangs. A look to the hand holding onto his trench coat.
"Could you please put me down Lord Adrik...it is...hard to answer questions this way." Part of Xearus was sinking into fear, if he shook him just right and the medallion in his pocket made a jingle...just hell.

A smirk that turned into an all out grin. "No I like you better this way."
He held him and began walking off. "You and I have some...things to discuss."
He took him to his study and flung him into a chair then slapped him again. "Are you sure you didn't feed Xearus? Because I think you're lying to me."
He reached into his desk and took out the gun, fiddling with it. "And you know how much I don't like liars."

Xearus swallowed, hands gripping at the leather of the chair from a second slap and then he did it again when Darvien retreated to his desk...for than damn gun. No not again, poor little body still wasn't better from the other time.
"I did feed, Lord Adrik. But I never hunted. Marx....he brought me the body as an apology. I...I asked him if you knew, told him I wasn't to feed. But he said he's take the blame..." Try for the sympathy kick..."I was jsut...so hungry and I can't do the work you want of me without a full meal. I get weak..."

"That's exactly what I've been trying to teach you boy. You do get weak and you need to feed. I'm teaching you a lesson when I stop you from hunting."
He twisted the gun in his hands and filed that away to ask Marx later.
"So where did you go? You were gone a rather long time and I didn't send you off for anything."
He put down the gun and steepled his fingers, eyebrows raised at Xearus, his mouth a grim line.

He really wished he could lie better to Darvien. But the threat of silver bullets unnerved him and being caught in a lie was working on him too. Seems though playing the sympathy 'poor little me' card was helping though.
"I was talking to Semara for a while. She was helping me patch my wounds from the other night...because I can't heal so well because of the low blood."He took a breath and relaxed a bit. "Then I just wandered really...spent some times with the mortal teens. You know, how you like me to do so I can influence them that you're better than Lynx? Impressionable young minds and all. Wasn't like I was being lazy."

He tapped his fingers on the desk and watched the teen.
"So you were out doing some good? I'm impressed Xearus. Maybe you're beginning to learn."
He watched the teen sweat in his chair and mocked lightly, "How sweet. Have a crush on her Xearus? After all to tend all of your wounds, one would be your a**. Did she see that tender part of you as well?"
Then he cracked his knuckles.
"Of course if you weren't doing that and you are lying to me, I would be very very upset. I might even be inclined to try out a new punishment I devised just for you."

The mention of new punishment devised just for him got a reaction out right. A thin sheen of blood sweat on Xearus' forehead, soaking pieces of hair, and he visibly squirmed in his seat. This is why he preferred Lynx.
"N-no....Semara is just my friend. I...she was just helping me. I mean, is it really that big of a deal? We've know each other for many many many years now." An uneven laugh.
"Why would I lie to you Lord Adrik?" Now play on his arrogance. "Despite my attitude I know where I stand with you." A bow of his head in a gesture of false submission. "I should be more inclined to you, you letting me live as I am and all, out of law." Keep it up now Xearus. "And I know I am no match for you, thus I am no true threat..."

Darvien watched him and read right into what he was doing. But he decided to let the boy drown. He was quiet for a long moment.
"Since you are usually so rebellious my thought was to lock you in a room. On the walls would be silver plates and not let you feed for a few days. Of course you know a hungry vampire gives new meaning to the words 'climbing the walls'"
He let that sink in and then smiled, "But since you aren't lying to me, you have nothing to worry about right?"

He couldn't hide the fact that his breathing hitched and caught in his throat. But he willed it away quickly. "Right..." A room with silver on the walls and not being able to feed? Hell why didn't the man cover the floor and ceiling too and add a little skylight so Xearus could cower in a corner trying to keep out of the sun?
He swallowed again and decided on an appeasing gesture. "What would you have me do then, Lord Adrik, to make up for my transgression of earlier?"

He thought about that for a moment and tapped his fingers on the desk.
"Well, your failure of earlier resulted in the loss of one of our fledglings. Perhaps to atone for it you should take care of another fledgling."
He considered that for a moment and gauged how much blood Xearus may have had.
"Yes, I think that would be perfect. We have a new batch of them. One came without a master and he needs to be shown how to hunt. He's really quite horrible at it. Name's Calin or something like that."

"Fledgling Calin?" Wait...was he saying? "You want me to teach him to hunt?" Oh hell yes, he'd do it.
Xearus' demeanor changed almost on the spot then and he stood, giving Darvien a bow. An actual one. Hell Xearus was happy to be getting off like this, better than bullets or anything else for that matter. "I'll make sure he learns well before the night is out Lord Adrik.
And Xearus took this as he cue to leave, turning and walking away slightly. But then he stopped. "May I hunt and feed then too, Lord Adrik?" It was worth a shot. Last question he would probably get before fetching Calin.

Darvien raised an eyebrow and looked at Xearus like he was stupid. "Come on boy use some common sense."
He shook his head and watched Xearus laughing lightly to himself. The boy had no idea what he was getting into.
"How else do you expect to show him how to hunt? You hunt, let him watch, then watch him. Come come Xearus, act your age not your looks."
He raised an eyebrow again and twirled the gun again. "And I expect to see both of you fully fed and in my study after you finish. There should be no reason why you or Calin do not return. Do I make myself clear Xearus?"
A reminder of the fledgling he had lost. Darvien had the sneaky suspicion he hadn't tried to save her because he had other things to do on Blackrose territory. "Remember Xearus, silver room, no food, perhaps a little sunlight too."

Oh great, now he looked stupid. That hadn't been what he meant. He had to repress a scowl, and only gave another bow. "Thank you Lord Adrik...and I will remember your words." A slight billow of trench coat and he made his way to the rooms of the fledgling.
"Calin...heh, maybe I can get him to call me Master Xearus."

Calin looked around at the other fledlings in the room. "Piece of cake." He was bigger and stronger than any of them. Blonde, blue eyes, and five eleven, with the beefy muscle he had worked so hard to achieve when he was still...alive. He had recently been turned and enlisted into the Adrik faction. He didn't know a lot but he knew that this whole thing had been started because of some babe Thalia. He had gotten what information he could an dhe laughed. "Bet I could bring her back. All she needs is a good screw." Yes Calin was full of himself.

Xearus practically busted the doors off to the room, sending a few fledges scrambling to the far side. First impressions were important and he would have to make up for his size. "Evening fledges, I'm looking for one of you called Calin. Heard he sucks at hunting and needs to be taught. I'm here to do it."
Running a hand through his hair then picking at his fangs he crossed his arms with a stern look on his child like face.
