Elric sighed as everyone but Jade ran off before looking over at her. "I guess we better join them Jade," he said before shaking his head slowly and ran off to catch up with the group. "I guess I'll take the left position then," he said as he caught up with everyone.

Jade watched as they all left, including Elric. "Why is everyone in such a hurry?" She wondered out loud. Shrugging it off, Jade put both straps of her backpack around her shoulders, and took off at a groundbreaking speed, just behind Elric. When she caught up, she was left with only one position to take. Above. That was fine with her. Running along the trees was an easy job for her, thanks to her training.

Bending her knees after taking another step, Jade crouched low, then sprang upwards, landing easily on a high branch. She took a second to catch her balance, then continued following them at the same speed, hoping from branch to branch.

Not too far off from the group....

Marc hit the ground hard, landing flat on his back. So much for that plan, he thought bitterly to himself as he got up. Looks like we lost the "objective" too... He watched as the rest of his team was also beaten, and the other team made away with the objective his team had just aquired. He brushed himself off, then gave a signal over his head to tell his team to group together. They did so quickly, brushing themselves off, and stretching swore places.

"Ok guys. That team is obviously really tough. We can't beat them on our own, so we'll tail them until they come across another team. Then we'll make our move." Marc instructed, the others listening intently. They all knew each other very well, and worked excellent together, so noone questioned Marc's role as team leader.

As he explained their course of action, he added one final thing before giving the go. "Try to give as much evidence of your presence as possible. Even if you have to send up a flare from time to time. Let everyone around here know where that group is." With that, he gave another signal, and they took off, spreading out as they followed the team who had just beaten them. It wasn't too hard to track them, even though they were still in the forest.

Joseph picked up a slight increase in light for a moment, a flare. He wasn't quite sure where it was from though, the trees obscured his view, hopefully Jade caught it's location. He'd tell Stephen though, the others might not have noticed it.

Running over to Stephen he quickly relayed his information. "Stephen, someone just sent up a flare. Hopefully Jade caught it's loacation, I'm not sure where exactly it was from. I do know if we catch up to another team we'll need to fight though, so tell the others and be careful."

Running back into his position he again catalogued the arrows he had. Ten flash, ten bludgeon, ten grappling, and ten net. All arrows he had made and trusted in, hopefully they would work well in a coming fight.

Stephen needed to make a decision. It could easily be a trap, but they had no other leads. "Jade, did you happen to see where that went off?"

In this situation, a flare most likely meant one of two things: either that team was in danger beyond their own means of saving themselves, or that they wanted everyone to know where they were. Damon weighed out the possibilities. "We should point ourselves in that direction. None of us knows exactly why a flare was sent up in the first place - it could be a decoy." And a clever one at that... "But once we come close to the group it came from, slow down. We don't want to get ahead of ourselves and enter unnecessary combat just because we saw some pretty lights."

He hadn't seen exactly where the light came from, being the one watching their backs and all, but there was no istaking it had been an actual flare. So the rest was up to his team. Will they go for it? More importantly, would they split up to cover more ground in the case of a decoy? Damon couldn't exactly know for sure, nto with this group...

Listening to them as they talked bellow her, Jade called down as she ran from tree to tree. "It could be a flare, but it looked more like an attack to me. And an attack means that the objective should be there. But it's up you guys if you want to head there or not. I got the co-ordinates..." Jade left them to decide. She didn't know how this worked, so she didn't want to really put in her opinion. Though she would probably go for it. They didn't have much to lose anyways, and it wasn't too far.

"We've got nothing to lose. Jade, point us in the right direction, we're going to find out why they just gave away their location. Everyone else, pretend you have some sort of stealth skills and stay undetected, we don't want any unnecessary combat." Stephen made way after Jade, hopefully this wasn't a trap, or trick. They probably weren't the only group that saw the sign that said 'Hey look at me, I'm over here' so they best keep a low-profile.

Elric looked over at Stephen and shook his head as he ran up to the group. The one thing he disliked about him was his overwhelming arrogance and acting like the leader in every situation, however he held his tongue about that subject. "So are we going to get moving before we lose the trail?" He asked as he caught up to the group.

"Well, some could say we are moving, notice how we seem to be getting farther from the place we started at?" Stephen enjoyed his obviously sarcastic remark, "Oh right then, Jade? Have you found out where that signal went off?" His was getting impatient, what if Jade wasn't able to pin-point where it had come from? They'd be wandering aimlessly until they ran straight into someone by accident.

Cupping his hands in front of his mouth Joseph spoke out to Jade. "Look, Jade, where was the flare from? We need to know now so we can move out, we're already behind as it is." And they were behind, not only had they had less time to start but they were delaying to long on making a decision, not something any group of heroes should do.

Jade glanced back to the others as she continued to run through the trees. "Follow me, and keep quiet. Do you want to announce to everyone we're coming?" She spoke softly, but was sure she was loud enough to be heard.

Turning her head to the front again, Jade stepped off a branch she had just landed on and dropped a level down so she was closer to the ground. As her foot hit the lowest branch, she took off again, springing from tree to tree.

"Not far now..." She quietly called back, and the sounds of a struggle was carried on the slight breeze from ahead of them.

Marc once again hit the ground, grunting from the impact. It seemed he'd been spending quite a bit of time down there during this excercise, and he was starting to get annoyed. Before getting up, Marc took a moment to look around. The kid who had just knocked him over was from the original group they had been tracking, but since then, another group had joined them, turning the excercise into a chaotic brawl. It actually wasn't that bad, since they all knew how to control their powers and were able to put just enough force behind their attacks to do minimal damage. That didn't make it any easier, however.

Marc's teammates had been slowly closing in on the two with the objective, but they had a good defense going, and it was going to be tricky. Marc had to hand it to Logan, he really had a wicked sense of humour, and knew how to make them work... They ignored the other people whenever they could, but the small clearing they were in didn't allow for much fighting room. One of his teammates was keeping the toughest of the other teams busy with her ability to project her image, while another made sure the rest of them had their hands full so that they wouldn't notice when his team took the objective.

Marc got up to make another attempt for the goal, but so far, none of them had been able to break through the barrier the kid -Marc remembered his name was Todd, a younger student- had put up. He thought for a second, dodging a stray blast, before coming up with an idea. Forget getting through it, he thought, I'll just go under it. Signaling to his nearest teammate that he was going in, Marc went right up close to the barrier, trusting in him to guard his back. Once at the barrier's base, Marc knelt, then before anyone else could get to him, he slapped his hands on the ground, a faint glow emmenating from them. From where his hands touched the ground, it rippled towards the center of the shield, building like a wave made of dirty. With Todd distracted by the moving ground under him, the barrier broke off, disappating into the air, leaving the objective clear for the taking.

It seemed as if everyone knew the exact instant when the shields broke, and they could finally reach the prize. Luckily for Marc and his team, however, they were one step ahead and already in place. All that stood in their way was the second team member that was inside the barrier. It would probably take all five of them to take him down...

Stephen was definately not enjoying the lack of straight answers he was getting from Jade, especially when- Stephen stopped so abruptly, even he was surprised he could. In the small clearing was pure, controlled-chaos. Mild Anarchy was a good word. It seemed that no matter what the task was there was always some way to blow-things up. Stephen had barely a second to notice a very small red bead strayed from its course and headed towards him. Not taking any chances Stephen leapt into the nearest clump of bushed he could find. Good thing to, because when it made contact with the ground, it exploded making a crater big enough for small child to be buried alive in. Stephen was always at a disadvantage with this power stuff, having no range, explosive powers, or strong defenses he was by far, a liability more-so than anything else. He only hoped the others were fairing a bit better.

Joseph took in the sight of the battle quickly, noting little details, and the fact that a group was close to what, or rather who, was likely the objective. They were faced off against a kid he knew was powerful, but five on one? Maybe he should even the odds, possibly giving them a chance to move in an take the objective.

Notching an arrow he took careful aim and waited. He'd have to fire with precision at the right moment... A quiet twang was heard, the arrow leaping from his bow and sailing through the air. Closing in on one of the group nearest to the objective, the one who had removed the barrier, and exploding, a net flying out. Almost simultaneously a flash broke out as another of his arrows hit. Hopefully they'd now have a chance to catch up.

Easy Damon thought to himself, scanning the scene before him and decided upon the quickest route. My work's practically been done for me.

The barrier had been taken down, which was probably the biggest obstacle that had been in his way. That, and the lumbering hulk of a person that was not far off from where Damon stood right now. That giant, though, and just about every other person he could see, was occupied keeping each other from getting to the same place they were all headed -- the place Damon intended to be, in a very short while.

Cover might prove something of a problem, however. It'd be no easy thing to hide from every other person here at the same time. Luckily, that wouldn't be enough to stop him.

Doing the mental math, Damon figured the distance between himself and his goal. Almost within reach.... his suit's teleportation couldn't quite take him there, but it'd be close enough the remaining gap could be covered by foot undisturbed. And the next instant, his image faded away, leaving an empty space where it had stood.

Touching ground at a sprint where he had intended to go, Damon spared little time to look around him. From what he caught glimpse of, no one was around....
