they are nu-metal. nu in latin means "not"
they are called that because of their simple repetitive instrumentals and screaming/shouting vocals.
Just because they have a DJ doesnt mean they are nu-metal Anthrax had a DJ, are they Nu-metal?
It is all about instrumentals. That is what seperates all the genres.

Nu does mean not in latin but also in german Nu (neu) means "new" in this case translated to "New Metal" since that's what they think they bring, a new wave of metal music. Aside from that SlipKnoT the current state of SlipKnoT wall the way back to their mainstream break out they have never been metal, only on M.F.K.R could they have been regarded as metal. SlipKnoT is simply classified as Malecore or hard rock nothing else, although they do have metal elements they are not metal.

SlipKnoT is simply classified as Malecore or hard rock nothing else, although they do have metal elements they are not metal.
Except 'malecore', if you meant metalcore, that'd be off.

Well if you dont like the fact that they aren't fully metal you can rest in the fact that they have some metal parts in them.

Slipknot is metal biggrin ...at least to me it is..their old stuff was metal, but their vol 3 sounded more alternative.... confused

Except 'malecore', if you meant metalcore, that'd be off.Both sub genres exist and both fall into the "Nu-Metal" crap. The difference is heaviness in vocals. SlipKnoT=Malecore Lamb of God=Metalcore
