kendra sat in the chair next to tokai and sighed. "i have no family..." she said softly, her bottom lip trembling slightly. "they were killed by humans." she felt tears fill her eyes and clenched her fists, willing herself not to cry. hakari, sitting by kendra's feet, made a small, worried chirping noise.

"I'm sorry," tokai apologised, looking at her worriedly. "I shouldn't have asked." He began figiting slightly, unsure of what to do. He'd never been around someone crying before.
Streak saw her sadness and felt it in his heart. He didn't like sadness, so he did the same thing he would have done if it had been Tokai. He trotted over from his corner, jumped onto her lap and licked at her tears, thinking that if the tears went away, her sadness would too.

*Alex peered into the cave, her cat eyes shining in the shadows. She had assumed feline form in order to travel faster into the woods, hoping to get as far as possible before it was time to bed down for the night. She was tired now and unable to hold her current form much longer, so she was looking for a place to rest when she heard voices coming from within this cave. She waited politely at the entrance, resume human form, and sat on the ground, leaning against the wall. She didn't sense anything bad about these people, but she knew it was best to be cautious. For now, she would just keep them within earshot.*
I'll know soon enough whether they are trustworthy and whether they are friendly.

Tokai laughed when he saw what Streak was doing. He always knew what to do that pup.
Suddenly, he sensed something outside, and it wasn't an animal. He stood up, telling Kendra to stay where she was with Streak and Hakari. Unsheathing the sword at his waist, he glided silently over to the entrance, before leaping out and placing the sword, point first towards the trespasser.
"Who are you and what do you want?" he demanded.

kendra smiled and cuddled the little pup. she saw the look on tokai's face change, his face was now alert. he told her to stay with hakari and streak, and, although she didn't want to, she stayed where she was, making sure streak couldn't escape out of her arms. she watched tokai with concern on her face, even though she didn't know it.

Jesse Aaron it seems you two are getting along quite well... thats a good thing... 3nodding uh-huh 3nodding we are getting on well. ^^ plus i think my rping skills have improved since the last time i rped.....which was ages ago. eek so much for me getting rusty. sweatdrop i've actually improved instead! whee
