"Oh, my... That's absolutely horrendous!" he exclaimed. "I'm so sorry..." he went to console her. "I'm sure his death has brought you strength. Not many people experience that type of trauma. It makes me feel sorry to say my experience growing up was bad. Did they ever find who killed him?"

Dom let herself fall forward, her forehead landing on Chad's shoulder and steadying her. "They never did. I don't think they ever will." Her voice was heavy with restrained tears. "But by god, if I ever find them, no amount of defense will save their souls from the depths of hell." She spat.

"You never know... They may find them. Good eventually triumphs over evil," Chad said, finding himself making yet another optimistic statement. He wasn't sure he entirely believed his statement, as he recalled when the wizarding world was in the darkest of times. Fate sure had a way of warping things. He smiled at her as he took her head in his hands, the silver ring he wore on his right middle finger brushing against her cheek. Though he knew he wasn't brave, he felt it his job to try and maintain a happy atmosphere; for both their sakes. "Would you rather I left you alone for a little while?" Chad offered.

Dom stared into his eyes, searching for something, though she didn't know what. Then a realization pushed through the mush. "You look just like him." She whispered, reaching up and touching his hand. She wiped away a single tear that had escaped her control and nodded. "I'll come back up when I feel sane. You go." She paused. "Thank you. I needed to tell somone. I have't told anyone for 11 years. So, thank you for listening."

"Anytime, Dom, I'll see you soon," Chad said briefly, now placing a hand on her shoulder empathetically. Swiftly, he left the greenhouse, leaving his new friend to be alone with her emotions.
