I jumped up and back into the air as it surged up. It didn't seem to be surging up agressively, but it was enough to break through the ice and rise into the air.

It rushed past me at quite a speed and i looked up at it, not just in fear of its power, but in awe, incredible awe that i could meet this...I couldn't believe what i had seen when i had looked down...

Two fiery blue eyes charging towards me, the rest of it shadowed in the depths, and then suddenly it was revealed, piece by piece. I looked up at the creation now in the sky.

Suddenly it spread out, spreading it's huge wings far and wide across the sky. It was huge. It wasn't small by any standards and it was quite capable of wiping me out right there and there. I was almost rigid with fear as i realized what it was.

It's body was serpant like, it's white underbody belying the dark blue scales on top. The two huge rings and rear tail, the long slender tail coming up to the large flat torso which muscles rippled at that very moment. The wings flapped and the dragon like head on it's extended neck came sweeping down at me. In fright i jumped back away from the dragon.

I watched it's eyes. It didn't seem to be hungry, or even have the desire to kill or hunt. It closed it's eyes and sighed as it swept silent past me and into the hole from whence it came. It's head surfaced moments later and it looked at me.

"Why don't you trust me?" It asked.

"I can't control you," I said. My eyes widened in realization, i had indeed been thinking them...but to have actually said those words?

"Because you know you can't, or because you think you can't?" The serpent said. I was stunned.

"I don't even know who you are," I said firmly as if a name would assert control over the mighty dragon/serpent.

"My name is *******," It said clearly, but i couldn't understand that last part. The Dragon looked at me incredulously, "You fear me?" The Dragon came from the water again and moved it's head until it was just inches away from me. Contrary to what i would have thought, the dragons breath smelled fresh, clean, "Do you know what trust is?" The dragon said, it's feminine voice still present. I looked at the serpant in the eyes.

"Trust is..." I trailed off unable to answer. "I believe that trust was when the complete domination over something so much that you could place your life in it's hands." The Dragon looked at me skeptically and then nuzzled me gently before descending to the depths. Before I could call it's name again, i fell against the rock hard floor.

I woke up on the hard floor and rolled onto my side.

"Damn dreams," I said. My Zanpakuto fumed by my side. I frowned. What the hell had gotten into it. I unclipped it from my side and lifted it up in front of me, "...was it a dream?" I murmured and my Zanpakuto went back to humming quietly.

If it wasn't a dream what was it. I climbed out of the aquaduct. I wondered what it was all about but i called it a day and headed back to my room.

I stepped off the descending ladder into the aquaduct and looked around. This place was huge. It was quite too, the only problem was the strip of water that flowed through the centre.

"Right then," I said quietly and held out my hand in front of me. My Reiatsu pumped up inside me.

"Hadou #1 Spirit Ball," I said and held the ball in my hand. I condensed it down to something the size of a tennis ball.

"And up," I launched my hand up, and pulled it straight back down. The ball left my hands for a few seconds, ut as if on an elastic band came straight back to my hand. I motioned my hand up again and then brought it straight back down as fast as i could straight into the ground. The ground began to blur up as the dust was forced out, and the ball tunnelled down. I stopped it and looked down. There was a good sized crater there.

"Damn this is so boring, I wonder what Sensei would have asked me to do," I said folding my arms in thought. Then I mocked Kai-sama's voice, "You must learn how to control your reiatsu." I sighed. My Reiatsu was still fiery and rebellious, but I liked it like that, it was fun. I took out my Zanpakuto and held it in front of me. I slashed straight down forcing my Reiatsu through it.

'Not so hard little boy,' A voice said. I was trying to train so i let the voice advise me. I calmed down on the reiatsu letting it flow in gently. The voice was hoarse, yet femine almost like a cat...no a jaguar, 'Now try it again, and slash down.' I did as I was asked and the Zanpakuto moved much easier that time. I turned around to thank the woman, but...she wasn't there.

"Thanks," I said quietly. Then turned around. I started practicing my Reiatsu control again.

Reiatsu training was a little harder than I had anticipated, but...I was getting the hang of it.

"Damn...what the hell could Sensei be doing?" After another few minutes of focusing my Reiatsu into a tight ball I whisked myself up the ladders again.

I jumped back down into the aquaduct and waited for the rest to catch up. I had set off at a pretty brisk pace when I had left...then again, knowing Amaya she would have hurried herself to keep up. At least...she knew her place now.

I would also have to start practicing too I may have only been an Amatuer shinigami, but I was sure I could become a full fledged Shinigami in no time at all.

I stood at the opening which Kai had left open. Damn he walked fast. My Zanpakuto glowed at my side for a moment before I jumped down after him. I landed in a crouched form.

"Sensei," I said quietly and stepped to the side waiting for the girl to show up. It looked like she was a new person to the team, 'I wonder how powerful Kai is becoming? Only the other week he was only half as strong as he is now.."

I jumped down after the boy. They were both fast on their feet, they out classed me in every aspect...both of them. Why couldn't I be stronger.

"Kai-dono," I bowed he was my leader now though I would wait for the day when they came...when they came to get claim us once more. If he thought I hadn't been training since we last fought then he was in for a big suprise.

I looked around. They were both here. I opened my eyes slowly, "Welcome. You will both be under me as students. Kenji, bring her up to speed on our Reiatsu training and we will then continue." I turned around to the wall and held out my hand.

"The first spell of destruction, Spirit Ball." A small ball of pure Reiatsu formed in my hand. I jammed it into the wall and suddenly the brick work lit up and folded away. It took quite a large chunk of my Reiatsu to make it all going backwards smoothly, as I was...afterall, learning to use my Reiatsu in a more physical sense.

Once it had all folded away leading me into my small alcove I looked at all the books. We had brought quite a few, I would have to have a word with the librarian about acquiring a copy of each. I pulled them out of the way. We had quite a number of books to get through as well. Heh...this would be hard to get through if I didn't work at it now.

Finally the alcove was empty and I stood back a little this was going to get a little dusty. I raised my palm to the wall and placed my other hand on the inside of my elbow.

"Hado #33, Sokkatsui!" I said and let all my Reiatsu join into one single forceful blast. However I had little control over the amount I was using. My eyes shot open as I realized what was going to happen. Lines of blood suddenly appeared down my arm, and my sleeve was ripped to shreads as the power of blast warmed up in my arm. I clenched my fist for a moment trying to maintain some form of control before it ripped my arm off.

A glyph formed infront of my fist where I was aiming.

"The first ring comes at dawn. The second ring binds at noon. The third ring wraps at dusk. Bakudo #9: Sealing Rings!" I roared forcing my arm to be bound together. It seemed odd using it on myself, but I needed it if I was to keep control. I flicked my fist open and my eyes widened again as I watched in sheer determination. The glyph lit up, where the hell had that come from anyway. The blue light of Sokkatsui blasted straight through it and struck the wall taking more blood from my arm with it.

Dust clouded my vision as I looked up. I lowered my arm and walked forwards through the dust. I only walked so far and collapsed in the darkness.

"Right sensei," I nodded and turned to the girl. In the back ground I heard my sensei doing something. I didn't know exactly what though. The girl, Amaya was standing one arm in a sling still from the injury.

"Alright, I'll go through it like busibody showed me," I held out my hand, "Reiatsu is your spirit energy, and your main power source for any form of Demon Magic, commonly known as Kidou. Now, each and every part of you has the capability to make your Spirit Energy." I held out my hand and let a blue ball form in my palm.

"This is Reiatsu in the more visual form, highly concentrated although not nearly enough to be considered life threatening." I looked around to see my Sensei moving things out of the alcove he had created. What the hell was he planning on doing now?

"Now lets see just how good your Reiatsu control is at the moment." I pointed to a brick on the far side, "Hado #4: Byakurai!" I said and a thin white light shot out of my hand and blasted into the brick, "Now you. Just let your energy flow, you don't want to force it down through your arm, you just want to let it flow and guide it to where you want it to go."

"uh..." How did he expect me to do this? I wasn't a Shinigami, in fact...I was barely even a spirit through aall the renegade missions that I had taken part in against Seireitei. Sereitei was nothing other that a home for the Shinigami who wanted to rule the spirit population and to an extent the real world.

My spirit was tearing up inside mehalf of me loyal still to my beliefs, the other half loyal to Kai, my friend. I flicked my finger up and pointed at the mark Kenji had left. My eyes blinked open and:

"The first art of destruction: White lightning." I said and the white light that shot out although fairly erratic still held enough power to tear a hole in the wall.

Then there was another blast, blowing dust straight past me. I turned round in shock as to where Kai had been.

"KAI!" I charged in after him wherever he was. Then I heard something fall on the floor, like heavy material. I swept through the dust trying to find him. He was on the floor I didn't know if he was concious but...no I couldn't think like that, I had to help him. I got down next to.

"Kai!" I called again, "Are you alright?"

I heard someone calling my name. Who the hell dared to call me by my given name. My body was completely immobilized at the moment I couldn't believe the damage that I had caused to my body by weilding that much Reiatsu and trying to focus it into a single blast. Come to think of it...what was that symbol...

"Kai," A soft voice called to me. I couldn't quite figure it out...and then suddenly I could move. My pain had for the moment subsided, but yet, now where was I. I was no longer in the Aquaduct where I had fallen but instead in a vast forest tinted blue by ice. Although covered in ice, and yes, it was cold, the forest around me seemed to be thriving.

"Kai," The voice repeated. I heard a bell tinkle behind me and I spun round to see it. However...there was nothing. I looked around. I had been here before, although in a slightly different area. I looked up and the sky was dark, yet there were swirls of light weaving through the forest. Where was I?

"Over here Kai," The soft voice came again, it was definately feminine. I walked over to where the sound was coming from. I found myself brushing past plants covered in fragile ice. I didn't call out to whoever was calling me because the it was the first rule of survival...never give away your true position, "Yes, that's right, through here." I looked up and around. I saw nobody at all. Yet I felt eerily calm and safe. Then suddenly the forest cut off and I stumbled onto soft sand around a deep lake with single mangrove tree in the centre. It was truly impressive.

Suddenly darkness enveloped me yet I felt something press against me from behind. "Guess who." The voice said.

"I don't know who you are," I said quietly...but I had the strange feeling that we had met before.

"But...but..." she stammered and then swept round in front of me, "But you're the one who knows me best. My name is .........." I frowned. I didn't get that last bit.

"Could you repeat that?" Her eyes dropped downcast and yet she stepped closer and rested her forehead on my shoulder.

"Did you expect a male?" She asked and then looked up at me quietly her eyes boring into me. This girl was one of the strangest I had met yet, her features were fair and delicate, her ears just ever so slightly pointed, and her eyes, large with a very very slight slant to them. They were blue, but not cold, bright and sparkly. Her hair was a very light blue, almost white. The girl was wearing a blue kimono with an imperial chinese dragon along one arm, the other was torn off.

"A male?" I asked. She nodded.

"Or, does something else cloud my name from reaching your ears. You are not afraid...you are confident and determined...yet you don't want to work with me?" She said quietly. Now I was confused. I didn't know the girl, and yet she was claiming that I didn't want to work with her.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"We've spoken before but..." Now I was confused. I didn't understand what was going on entirely and what bits I did grasp, didn't make sense.

"How strong are you?" I asked looking into her eyes. They shone with sudden excitement.

"Test me?" She replied and jumped back with astonishing speed. Then she came at me her fist coming straight at my face. I didn't have enough time to dodge.; I had to block, and block I did with both arms. I couldn't keep up with her speed as she dropped and swept. I was forced to jump her leg.

Yet the girl was faster, and her technique was superb as she flipped up with a kick going straight for my head. I blocked again, stunned by the power that she was contained in the blow, yet she moved so delicately. It looked like I was going to have to wait for an opening to appear or...create one. I swept my arm round to intercept a kick and then with my spare hand thrust forward, but she had already percieved this and had struck me three times straight down my torso in consecutive strikes. I was blown back into a tree. This is what I needed, some space to attack her at my own pace.

I attacked of my own accord and went for a punch to her chest. She stopped me by catching my hand and twirlling herself along my arm and my body, she hugged me briefly from behind before sweeping straight down and sweeping my legs from under me. I grabbed her as I fell, that seemed to shock her as she fell on top of me. Perhaps I had caught an opening she wasn't aware of? No I doubted that.

"You did that didn't you," I said as we lay for moment neither one of us moving, "The glyph." I narrowed the search down and she nodded against my chest.

"Kai," She said. I looked at her, "Kai." She said a bit louder. I frowned.

"KAI!" I said and I was violently shook awake.

When the girl had rushed after Kai, I gave chase also not before checking out her handy work, she had some power...if only she could control it better. Perhaps we'd have to wrk on that. I walked in beside her and saw Sensei lying on the floor.

"What the?" I said. I looked at his arm and most of his clothes, they were torn to shreads. Only half his top remained, and there were lines of blood running all over his body down his arm and into the centre of his palm.

"Quick lets get him rolled over," I said and pulled him over so that her had more room to breathe. Then I looked around as the dust settled. The blast had actually been successful, and had carved out a huge room, just how much Reiatsu did he have? The walls were unblemished and carved out neatly, however what I had thought were blemishes, turned out to be one huge pattern, probably a signature of his spirit.

"Sensei?" I knelt down beside him.

"Kai!" I said as his eye fluttered open, "What happened, you're all torn up?" Then I too looked around. Everything was...wow...incredible for someone who wasn't even a Shinigami yet. I looked down at him again. I wasn't sure that he'd focused just yet though. What the hell was wrong with him. He wasn't concust atleast. We had that much to be thankful for, but what the hell had caused this much damage to him.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 27, 2006 2:07 pm

I looked up to see Kenji and Amaya kneeling next to me. So I had damaged myself this much, even with those restraints.

"Amaya..." I said quietly, "There's a book...entitled Kidou Medicine just outside on the first set you come to. There's a page about healing...I need you to perform it on me." I turned my head to look at Kenji.

"Kenji how did she perform?"

"Wha!?" I said then looked at Kenji. I knew better than to argue at the moment though so I left quickly and found the book easily enough. I started flicking through the whole book it was intensely focused on pure control. It didn't matter how powerful your Reiatsu was as long as it was controlled. I grabbed it and came back quickly having found the page. though I wasn't sure that I would be able to do this.
