Rude, for the moment, was content to remain out of the conversation.
Dwelling on the thoughts that ran through women's minds when Reno strutted down the hall was not a topic on which his thoughts preferred to dwell. Instead, he chose to make a thorough examination of the carpet. The walls. The ceiling. A potted plant.
...
Quite a nice potted plant, actually.
Rude had kept a potted plant in his room at one point, more for something to tend to than for any purpose of beautification. But then Reno had decided to use the plant as an outlet for his curiousity.
Or, more specifically, to answer the question, 'Do plants like coffee, too?'
The answer had been a rather profound no. And, rather than run the risk of allowing Reno to butcher another house-plant, Rude had settled for a life of plant-less-ness. Looking after Reno sufficed, he supposed.
It was at this point that Rude noticed Mirage had said something unrelated to Reno's backside, and chose to re-enter the flow of talk.
"As far as what we should do..." Rude began slowly, knowing how firmly set against this Reno and Mirage would undoubtedly both be. "Don't you think we should report to the Boss, before he begins to get impatient about it?"
After all, making Rufus wait was always a bad thing. A very bad thing.
And torture was not high on Rude's list of enjoyable activities. Neither was getting chewed out by Boss, but...
Sacrifices must occur.

And yes, I am thoroughly enjoying the show.

I was scared that I'd be trying to get back in the swing of things, that people would realize Reno's superiority in the position, and stone/burn me for being unable to match her genius. ^^;;
Of course, I tend to be a tad paranoid about these matters...
Oh well. <.< >.>
Anyway, the true point of this post is to pass the announcement that Reno is sorry she has been away from us for an hour or so, and will be returning shortly. Let us all pine, in her abscence... v_v;;
... on another note...
Calling Reno a "her" is... just... really... yeah, it's weird. o_O;;
And if it's all right with everyone, I'm going to refrain from my second post until Reno's triumphant return. ^^b))

"Offer?" Reno smirked. He winked at Mirage before turning to the horrible suggestion Rude had created.
"Sacho..." the man groaned. He covered his face with one hand and began chewing on the glove that covered it. Most of it. He put his hand back down, the chewing over, and a grimace threw him over.
"But...you...ah...Mir-Rude...you..." Reno hung his head. Defeated.
BUWAHAHAHA! You failed me! No more coffee or alcohol!
His ultimate escape taken by the very collars they strive on. His rum. Beer. ********' tequila.
No, Reno would never touch tequila again. That was the most horrible s**t he had ever drank in his life. Gave him a hangover from hell, made him vomit, something he never did, most of the time, and he did...the most idiotic things he could possibly do.
Like trying to do tricks on a bicycle down a flight of steps. Breaking a bone or two in the process in his landing.
Now THAT was a stunt...Reno would never like to look back on. Everyone had laughed, and the only person who actually realized what happened was Rude. Idiot. Hospital for a few days. What a stunt. No more tequila. Ever.
"What are we gonna do, yo?" Reno asked, hanging his head. "Just go up to his office, say, 'Yo, Boss! We got our a** kicked! End of story! We'll go home now.' I mean, I'm all for that if I can spend another day in a bed, but...not another hospital bed. Thanks."
But it wasn't often, lately, that when they failed a mission they'd be beaten for their mistakes. It was...actually getting easier to... No. Gotta keep that pride. Failure was not an option... That was his ultimate rule. Can't fail. But the failing was becoming a horrible disease scraped off the seventh level of hell.
Maybe seeing Sacho wasn't so bad... But they'd better hurry up and...
"We gotta make our next...ten missions a complete success..." he grumbled.

Rude was never quite sure how to respond to Mirage.
He settled for, "I'm sure that he has other ways to spend his morning. In fact, I'm certain. Reno and I walked in to give a report and found him and a secretary in a rather awkward stage of the human reproductive ritual."
Rude cleared his thought, shoving the memory from his mind curtly. "Nevertheless, we need to brief Rufus on what occured. Test his patience, and we might find ourselves returning to the medical ward."
He paused, his mind struggling to come up to an appropriate reply to the rapid subject change. For one, his mind didn't need Mirage's last session with... vibrat-
...
That thought was better off killed there.
"Furthermore, if you want something to cuddle, buy a teddy bear." Rude couldn't help a small smile as he continued with, "Or get Reno drunk. He tends to get very friendly."
With that advice, Rude set off for the elevators, tugging lightly on Reno's ponytail as he passed. It was an unusually fond gesture that suprised even Rude himself, but the bald Turk shrugged it off casually.
Must be the caffiene, still warming his veins...

"...I never want to think of Rufus having sex again," Reno said, rubbing his eyes with both hands.
"Cuddle? Oh, you know how and when I cuddle, Rude," he teased, laughing as he spoke.
But...it seemed Reno DID do a lot of...strange things when he was drunk. Like kiss... That never happened, right? ...
...
Right?
Well, either way.
His thoughts were jerked, of course, when Rude tugged on his ponytail.
"What if Boss isn't even home, yo?" he complained, turning in Rude's direction and taking a few steps within it. He had stopped to wait for Mirage. "Guess that won't be stopping you, though..." he mumbled. You won't know until you find out, Rude would say.
Yep.

He waited for the door to come down and greet them. If they were going to see Sacho, it'd be best to go see him...right now.
"No need to apologize, either!"
[x____x Can't...think. I'm so tired! xD A stupid bank called my house at like 9am this morning when I was still sleeping. I didn't wake up until 11:30.]

Rude nodded, agreeing with Reno's last declaration.
"No need to apologize."
And now, he too resorted to a more professional manner, mind struggling for a way of explaining their failure to Rufus that wouldn't result in any of them getting killed. Or dismembered. Or...
Rude paused, scratching that last option from his mind. After all, that had only been one person that Rufus had thrown from his window. Rude didn't know why, and he hadn't dared to ask.
There was rumors floating around HQ, but Rude, as a Turk, was too professional to give heed to such things as rumors.
...
Okay, so he had eavesdropped a bit in his day. But, in Rude's mind, eavesdropping was justified. As a Turk, one must stay constantly prepared.
And know exactly what not to say to Rufus, to ensure that you wouldn't be taking any untimely plunges from windows.
Once the elevator doors slid open, Rude tilted his head slightly, allowing that Mirage should enter first. After she had entered, Rude stepped into the elevator and took his customary stance against the wall. His morning, it seemed, was getting off to yet another thrilling start.
