Yay! I hope it will have the same feel as the first and not totally go in a different direction, although it will be hard to explain certain parts of earlier episodes.

YAY IM SO GLAD!!! mrgreen whee i was on the fruba site n i remember them sayin that they were havin a petition that if u sent in 2 thousand oragami cranes that they would continue... maybe sumeone did... mrgreen

There is not going to be a second season. Takaya and the director of the anime have both said in interviews that they won't be doing a second season or an OVA. They want to keep it the way it is mainly due to the fact that there were big plot flaws in the anime due to assumptions made too soon at the start. eg. Akito being male. Also due to the fact that to continue they would either need to write a new story or redo the first season, neither of which they are planning to do.
The petitions currently running are merely fan ones that are being sent foolishly to Funi and not the actual people.

I kinda knew that there wasn't another season coming. but isn't there an anime that the fans have Finish after the creater said he/she wasn't doing anymore? I don't kno if Im making this up or I heard it somewhere. But it would be cool for a fan to start another season.

There won't be any 2nd or 3rd season. It turns out they squashed as much as they could from most of the volumes and the finale of the anime actually happened in vol. 3! (Where Kyo transforms yadda yadda yadda)
