"I think Rosa just finds everyone attractive. She has been with nearly every guard," Garrat answered, his irritation returning at the mention of her. He personally thought of her as a seductress, but he did not feel like telling this to Nathaniel.
He was caught off guard when the prince asked if he found anyone attractive. Fortunately, he had dozed off before the knight could answer. He didn't want to answer such a question, especially because Nathaniel would want to know who it was Garrat liked. He intended to keep that little bit a secret. He wasn't sure what the young man would think if he knew his bodyguard found him attractive. Garrat would have liked to imagine that Nathaniel at least didn't mind, but something as taboo as Garrat's feelings could change the attitude of even the sweetest of people.
With a sad smile, Garrat dozed off as well.

The next morning, the whole kingdom was bustling about for such an early morning. Nathaniel was still asleep as his Nana knocked on the door. "Sir Garrat!? Young Master! The Queen would like the lot of ya to take a march about the villages today! She specifically wants you two in the parade today!" she beckoned. Nathan however, slept through her whole banter. If the lot of the family were going out together, then Nana was going to have to dress Nathan in his royal attire, so she didn't have time to dilly-dally.
"Garrat, how is the young Master feeling today? I must let the Queen know if he is capable of moving or not?" she cried.
On the other side of the Lady Nana, Manuerva and Rosa were in their rooms getting ready, and Rosa was ready to strike on the knight the moment she found an opening as she got dressed while the young prince's sister fixed a cup of tea.

Garrat was woken up by the knocking and he heard the nanny's voice. From what he heard, the family was visiting the villages. Well, at least they were going out, but he wished it didn't have to be an obligation. With a yawn, he started to gently shake Nathaniel awake. "Nathaniel, it's time to wake up," he said. "It looks like your mother wants us to join your family for some parade." He hoped the prince was feeling better today, or else it would be impossible for Garrat to keep his promise to him.

Nathan jolted when Garrat gently shook him awake. He panicked at first but then tiredly yawned and stretched. "Mama wants to go somewhere? That.. That's wonderful!" he shouted excitedly. The nanny sighed as she could hear the young master from the inside. "Garrat, the both of you get cleaned up. The Queen will come check on you shortly!" she shouted from the outside. "Thank you, Nana!" the boy called, so excited that he could go outside today.
"Garrat, after we travel about the village, then would you like to see if we could go on the boat like how I said yesterday?",he asked
getting ready to strip and get dressed.

Garrat had to look away from Nathaniel, going to the other side of the room so he himself can change. "Yes, we'll try to ride a boat," the knight said as he changed into his more formal clothing. Once finished, he didn't immediately turn around, wary that he might accidentally see Nathaniel not fully clothed. It wouldn't do if the knight had an inappropriate reaction in front of the prince. "Are you all dressed?"

Nathan had stepped into his closet and pulled out his royal garb. Because Nathan wasnt even 20 years of age yet, so his empirial clothes weren't given to him yet. Then again, Joseph recieved his white coat when he turned 18, so perhaps the royal family didn't really expect Nathan to live this long. But Hamish was about Garrat's age, Manuerva was about 24 (in the process of finding a prince to marry), and Joseph was 29 and soon to rule his own kingdom.
When he stepped out of the closet, he was wearing his dress shirt and pants was having problems buttoning his royal coat. Unlike his brother's, his was black with gold tassels, and red lining around the cuffs. It made him look more masculine than he actually was. But being that there were so many buttons, and not enough time, he panicked got his buttons mismatched. His hair was also another issue as he attempted to brushed it out. "Well you look sharp~!.. How come I've never seen you wear those before?" he asked with pouting lip.

"Simply because I haven't gotten these until recently," Garrat answered, adjusting his own coat. He turned to face the prince and had to admit that Nathaniel looked more like the adult he was, though the pout ruined the effect a bit. There was only a small thing that seemed off. "You need to fix your buttons." But there were so many, so Garrat walked right up to Nathaniel and began setting the buttons with their proper holes. "We can't be having you make silly mistakes like these, you know."

Nathan fidgeted and waited for Garrat to finish fixing his buttons. "I'd prefer that if I didn't have to wear these at all. But you look good~" Nathan said with a happy grin. "Oh, and thanks. This thing is just so complicated..." he spoke sincerely as Garrat fixed them.
When he was finished Nathan opened the door and dashed outside passed Rosa who was waiting for Garrat outside. He rushed passed the others in the halls, excited that he'd finally be able to go outside after so long. He rushed down to some doors and a gorgeous with long dark brown hair and an elegant golden dress. Her crown signified her importance and she carefully sipped her tea with grace. "Don't run." he directed and Nathan skidded to a stop. Several servants were pampering her and placing her shoes on for her. "Yes... mother.." he shrunk slowed down. Out came his older sister in all her glory and she set down with her mother and gave the youngest prince a cup of tea. "Did you run from Garrat again?" she asked as he took a sip of the bittersweet liquid. His cheeks were pink as he scratched his head. "Sorry... " he looked back to see if Garrat was close behind.
When they were ready, the royal family was to sit in an open carriage pulled by two white horses surrounded by soldiers.

Garrat rolled his eyes as Nathaniel ran off and proceeded to follow him. He had seen Rosa outside the door, but he passed right by her. The knight didn't want to deal with her right now, after all.
Upon catching up to Nathaniel, Garrat gave a slight bow, as had been protocol. "Good morning, Your Highness, Princess," he greeted, addressing both women. Garrat gave a slightly annoyed glance at Nathaniel for running away, but he supposed he couldn't blame the prince for being so excited. He just wished he could control himself a little first.

Nathan felt Garrat's sharp gaze over his shoulder. He put the cup down and the Queen and princess greeted Garrat with pretty smiles. "Good morning, Garrat. Has Rosa been keeping you company. Heehe- Ow!" Manuerva teased only to have her head tapped with a fan by her mother. "Enough foolishness. Your father is already waiting on his horse outside. Joseph and Hamish will be riding along side him. Nathaniel, you are to ride with your sister and I.. Garrat darling, be a dear and stand beside the Captain of the guard. He's been meaning to speak with you. " the Queen instructed.
Slouching in the carriage, Nathan watched Garrat go to the captain. Although he was pleased that he at least got to enjoy the sun for today, he was annoyed that he couldn't ride with his brothers or walk along side his best friend. Manureva then asked, rather at random, how he was feeling. When he replied that he felt spectacular, he she grinned and sat beside him, opening her fan and fanning her face. The Queen whacked Nathan with her fan and started scolding him that he had to start acting like a prince.
The captain patted Garrat on the back and rejoiced from what fine praise he was hearing about how good of a job he'd been doing from being the young prince's bodyguard. "But you are to stand with us today because we've been hearing odd reports of thievery and mischief about the towns and villages. Near by kingdoms have been on high alert for bandits lately, so watch out. That is your first priority today, your second is watching out for the young prince... I would hate to see him fall out again.." the man sighed. And soon, the parade was to begin!

Bandit activity? Well, considering parades tended to gather a lot of attention, it shouldn't be surprising that some miscreants would take advantage of the distraction. Garrat took his place alongside the captain. "Odd reports? What makes them so?" he asked. He preferred for cases to be specific in order to know what to expect and how to react. Anything labeled strange would immediately put him off.

"Thats just the thing, we don't know what exactly but some of the other nobles had ventured out recently and claim that after hearing a few loud shots of gunfire, they got their necklaces and gold stolen. So just be on the look out. " stated the captain as he mounted his horse.
As the parade continued, many happy villagers gathered around the edges of the streets and cheered. The ladies loved to gawk at Hamish and Joseph for their good looks and many loved to admire the stunning soldiers. The Queen and Princess both acted rather cooph to the whole ideal, only waving a few times to the children that ran by.These parades were generally used for celebratory purposes, Nathan just thought of it. Since he had been sick for so long, he didn't realize that this was technically the first day of fall, so it was the Royal family's responsibility to acknowledge the common folk's fall festival. Nathaniel was a bit excited now, but he'd never be able to really enjoy it in his black coat and stuck in the carriage. Soon, the Prince would get the distraction he needed to get away. But for now, the boy would simply smile and wave.. and then occasionally wave to Garrat with his cheeky grin that pretty much meant, 'I'm probably going to do something, don't try to stop me'.

Garrat didn't like the captain's news, and he became even more uncomfortable when he saw Nathaniel's grin. He couldn't let the prince leave the parade with the present dangers. He gave Nathaniel the expression warning him to 'stay put for now,' but he somehow doubted the prince would listen. He had been stuck in the castle for so long that it would be hard not to try to enjoy the festivities.

In the middle of the parade, a loud popping began to go off. It was just the citizens pulling some poppers and celebrating their food. But then a few more poppers went off and it got so smokey around carriage that it was nearly impossible to see the King and Queen. The captain ran up to the open side of the carriage pulled the princess off and carried her on to Hamish's horse. Then the Queen and Manureva began checking themselves.
"My necklace!" cried the princess, "My Ring!" shouted the King. The Queen was perfectly fine, only noticing that there was a black coat sitting beside her. "My Son!" she yelled as the smoke cleared up. Nathan had taken the obvious opportunity to make a run for it. The Queen wasn't particularly stressed or anything. This had happened before and Garrat had always managed to bring the boy back. She heaved a sigh and pinched the bridge of her nose as the parade continued as if nothing happened, just, minus one prince. She glanced back at Garrat and gestured for him to get on a horse and go find the boy.
Nathaniel was now searching from tent to tent of all the amazing cultured things. Without his coat, he was blending right in, except for the fact that he was a bit cleaner and wore the royal family crest as a ring on his hand. He looked at some fudge and traded a bit of currency for the food and its delectable chocolate taste oozed and melted in the boy's mouth. Enjoying the taste, he'd be sure to save some for Garrat. Of course he had to watch out for anything with peanuts in it. Looking at some other foreign foods he glanced at them as curiosity swept him away in all the excitement, "I wonder what this tastes like?" he asked outloud.
