Twisted_Misery angel_of_joy Twisted_Misery So it's like eight hours long? I'm excited. By the way, I read recently that the Firth lake scene was supposed to be completely nude. Can you imagine? That'd be crazy. It's not eight house, I don't think, but like 4 or 5. I heard that it was supposed to be nude too! And I nearly died! Oh okay. I had to read the article like three times because my mind was blown. Then I couldn't stop thinking about it and wondering how things would've been different. The majority of the comments said they liked it with clothes better, and I think I agree. He would've lost some of the mystery and innocence. I agree and it would have gone against the historical accuracies of the miniseries. Although I believe it would have been fun to see, I'm glad they didn't do that.

That's why I kinda find myself relating way more with Emma. she's independent because she had money so she doesn't have to marry and s**t like that but she does for love by the end.

I think after Pride, it's my favourite because its a story of undying love. Jane and Wentworth fell in love before Wentworth became a navy captain and made his fortune, but because Anne was a lady and her family name meant something her family forced her to call off the engagement. Heartbroken Wentworth goes off, risks his life and comes back a rich man 17 years later. Meanwhile Jane's family has fallen into poverty because of her father and elder sister's vanity. Anne could have married into a family of high standings but she declined the offer because of her steadfast love for Wentworth and so her youngest sister is married off instead. Of the three Eliot girls Anne is the most plain, but has the kindest, sweetest, disposition but because of the fall of her family and her declining a marriage it seems like Anne will never marry and so she will likely have to find a job as a goveness or something so that she can live. This is when Captain Wentworth comes back into the picture - looking for a wife and ready to settle as quickly as possible. In the beginning of their re-aquaintance he wants to be hash and slight Anne for calling off their engagement but as he sees how she is treated and how she was persuaded to do things in her youth that made her more steady of character in her later years, he realizes that he will always love her but his folly almost makes it impossible for him to persue Anne because it seems like he was fancying another lady and so her family believes him bound to her. It's all a mess, but in true Jane Austen style Anne and Wentworth end up together in the end. I love it.

Of course, there was never any doubt that I wouldn't love something Jane Austen. Even though you know it's always a happy ending with her, it doesn't take away from the story or make it cheesy like so many movies now. The path she takes along the way makes it worth it and seem different than so many predictable love stories now.
