Edward's hold on Heart tightened in a protective way as he spoke, "Angel or not, I won't let anyone harm her Shikaru." Heart looked at the two, hoping they wouldn't fight. Leaning her head tirdely against his chest. Was he the one she meant earlier? She couldn't remember.

Heart's pale face filled with color at those words.....her gaze turned to the ground she stood on so Edward wouldn't see her. He looked down to see her looking away from him in a shy manner. He smiled slightly, but said nothing to scare her. Then he began to follow Shikaru as the three of them went to the place he had mentioned a moment ago. "Two Angels and a thief, this should be interesting," Edward though with amusement and wonder.

Edward and Heart were still walking behind Shikaru. Her wings still unfolded as she walked, no longer clinging to Edward. She seemed to be slowly taken in what she had learned of her past. No longer so afraid, yet still a little confused and uncertain. Though that would soon pass in time, she hoped. Just then they heard a rustling in the bushes near by. Edward turned his head startled a little, it wasn't an animal hiding near by.

Just then a black winged creature jumped out, a blood red blade in hand as it flew towards them. With many others just like it following. Though as it came closer, it looked more like a shadow? What was it? Edward drew his sword, standing ready to defend Heart with his life. The creatures then shrieked and began to attack again, unafraid of the young man and his own blade of pure white.

The creatures, not seeming to be very smart at all, charged at the three of them. Attacking with great furry and no fear at all. As though controlled somehow. Edward fought off what he could of them, while keeping Heart safely behind him. Heart wanted to help, but found it difficult to fight in her new, awakened form. As though she couldn't even touch her sword without the hilt burning her at the touch of it. This had never happened before?! She then cradled her injured hand while the two fought on without her, standing helpless as she watched. Her head lowered in shame. "Don't worry Heart," Edward spoke, as though knowing what was wrong, "I won't let them hurt you. I will fight for both of us, I promise."

Edward fought as best as he could. He normally was a better fighter, yet for some reason, this fight was different. Yet why? Finally he managed to kill the last two. Then he turned to Heart to find her gone! "Heart?!" He exclaimed, his head turning to scan the area. There was no sign of her, not even a single white feather on the ground or in the air. "HEART!"

"Heart's gone! She was here the whole time until I turned to see if she were alright. I was protecting her! How could she have dissappeared?!" Edward said in one long breath. His heart raced and his head was spinning. It had all happened so fast, what had he done wrong? He promised to protect Heart and he had failed! Now who knew what would happen to her. "Did you see her?"
