Typhonus attempted to slash the manticore in the eye;the only reward he got was a poisonous spike which was shot at him.Dodging it,he asked Raizya,"Can a manticore be brought down by brute force,or is it invulnerable besides its weakness?For obvious reasons,I hope its the former."

As he said this,Typhonus blocked a swipe from the manticore and attempted to retaliate,stabbing at its leg with the tip of his rapier.It connected,but only glancingly;the small mark left by it only seemed to aggravate the manticore,which began attacking quicker.

Typhonus cursed underneath his breath then retreated a few steps,holding out his rapier for defense.This thing has obviously has had a long fighting careerhe thought.

Even if I get lost or cry with grief...

Touya took another ball, aiming it at the manticore's head. It hit successfully, but the spot soon became flesh again. "It only has a weakness," she replied, feeling more downcast than before. SHe was pretty sure the others wouldn't be happy about this truth, but they had to be known. "anything I try to do, it just keeps regenerating itself."
The manticore launched its claws at Touya. She dodged successfully, with a couple scratches on her cheek. It wasn't anything serious; she continued firing at it, thinking furiously of its possible weakness. How hard could this be?

"I don't see how burning it would harm it,burns are just another kind of injury which it likely can also regenerate from." In between fighting the manticore,Typhonus thought for a moment,then said "Could we be able to overwhelm its healing abilities? I mean,is it possible to kill it by attacking as fast and hard as we can so that it can't heal fast enough and thus will eventually succumb to its wounds?"

The thought distracted Typhonus,however,and a tail swipe by the manticore got past his guard and stabbed him in the shoulder with its poisoned tip.

Typhonus grunted in pain but ignored the wound,despite the poison.He recovered quickly and slashed off a considerable part of the manticore's tail.Blood and poison sprayed out,but the manticore was already healing.

Raizya tore at the back of its neck with one of her spiked handles before leaping away. "But if you are wrong, and we put everything into that one attack, then we are sunk. We would be too tired after using the amount of power it would take for us to accomplish that. It could easily kill us once we were weak. I thought that fire might work because it spreads and lasts longer than just a cut, so that there would be more and more that it would have to heal. Or something like that.
"I mean, compare it to a piece of paper. If you rip it down the middle, it is just ripped. Unless you do more to it, it's only going to be ripped down the middle. But when you set it on fire, the fire spreads until the entire paper is consumed. But that's just how I see it."

((Does that make any sense? I dunno. It does to me. :/ ))

Raizya grinned at Touya then ducked a swipe from the manticore's claws again. "'S all good. I just don't want us all de- ow! Can I flambé this lamb already?" As she was talking, the manticore siped again and this time, she didn't duck in time. Two twin lines cut across her left cheek and eye. She pressed a hand to her face to check how much it was bleeding then focused on the manticore again with her right eye, as the left one had blood in it from the cuts. "Whatever we are going to do, we need to do it fast. I think it is getting better the longer we fight it."

Grimacing from the pain caused by his poisoned wound,Typhonus parried the manticore's claw and counterattacked,then said "Burn that thing to a crisp,Raizya.If that works,it'll save us a lot of trouble.If it doesn't,we'll try my suggestion." Fire on paper,he thought,good concept.

His attacks were going nowhere;he had considerable wounds in several places,he was losing energy,and the poison was soon going to incapacitate,if not completely kill,him."To hell with it...." he muttered,then took hold of his two gladiuses in his hands and put his rapier in his mouth.Rorona Zolo style.Although it seemed dumb,it would also be effective,which was what mattered.

Typhonus stepped forward and attacked the manticore with a triple-bladed
crosscut across its face.All three swords connected;it screamed and drew back.Typhonus didn't stop there,continuing to attack the manticore in a fury,not caring for the injuries he was sustaining.Finally,after the beast was covered with wounds and its own blood,Typhonus jumped back,giving Raizya range to incinerate the manticore.

Rai nodded and ran at the manticore while it was still reeling from the the other's' attacks. Once she was close enough, she grabbed a fistfull of it's mane and swung herself up to crouch on it's back. She tangled both her hands in it's mane and with a muttered word, they lit with flames. Once it's fur caught fire, she dragged her flames down along it's back and leapt off, running to stand with Touya. "Can you tell if it's working?" she asked, out of breath.

Typhonus observed the manticore's condition as the flames burned all around on it.Its mane was almost entirely burned away,but it was hard to tell whether its flesh itself was burned,intact or healing.Then he noticed its crouching position."What is it doing?Is it crouching down because of agony,or is it still trying to kill us?"

Reforming his three-sword fighting position and advanced slowly towards the manticore,being careful to not let his guard down again.
It was not dead,but perhaps it was dying."Guys,back me up he-"
Then suddenly savage agony tore through Typhonus' body,shattering all
his thoughts.Typhonus screamed;it was as if thousands of sharp teeth were shredding the entire inside of his body.The poison.....he began to think,then the pain overwhelmed him again.He fell to his knees,and at that
moment the burning manticore,as if seeing an opportunity,leaped at him with its claws stretched out,eager to rip him apart.

Typhonus had no power to even focus his vision,let alone defend against the manticore's attack;he collapsed face-first and blacked out.As he lost consciousness,he whispered,Raizya,Touya.....finish it...
