I think it's a good idea to get people interested in the guild, however I don't think Ori is looking for publicity. So maybe just as a means to promote the guild?

-giggles- okay, maybe not so much publicizing Ori outright, but Ori was the one that started this whole thing... << No house of Ori then... got it....

I kinda feel like, it would be nice to focus more internally? Figure out ways to get people who are already part of the guild, more active or interested. o.o

Though that in itself is probably hard to do. Seeing as everyone has their own schedules to keep and not everyone will be on all the time. -shrugs- some may have just joined in hopes of free things. Others joined because they want to help and be phantoms. It's hard to distinguish between the two since the guild is open to everyone. But moochers tend to only pop in, not bothering with posting, just looking for something they might want.
Not that it'd be fair to do an activity requirement like a 'post here or you're booted' because I on occasion have been known to forget guilds, mostly because they aren't part of my routine.. most guilds I joined died soon after they were made so it was never a habit of mine to participate. Which I'm assuming is the case with others as well... guilds were a good idea but not enough people utilize them on Gaia, they tend to stick to the forums rather then make use of privatized forums like in a guild.
It's kind of hard to ask people 'Well what do you think we need to add, what would make you more active here?' If they don't show up in the first place. x-X I don't know if we'll ever be bustling with activity like we were, in the threads and when the guild first formed. the practice of the guild is much different then in the threads... the threads are more active because there's a lingering promise of possible gifts, where as in the guild all it really is is a hang out area in general with sub forums to separate topics, but I also think it separates users as a whole.
Here it's a bunch of separate conversations separated into threads, where once the point gets across, the thread dies off, aside from the possibility of a few reviving posts. Where in the forums, there's a dozen conversations going on at once in a group thread... unorganized, but there's more activity in a single thread then there is in most guilds.
-blinks- guilds are just under appreciated and under utilized by the members of Gaia... so I don't know if we'll ever have a very active guild aside from the handful of loyal members that contribute, and the lurkers milling around for handouts whenever we have an event thread.

Most active guilds, I have been in have game threads, those tend bring people in and post more often. Like 'in my pants game.' or What item would you steal from avi above you.. sweatdrop

I see your point, I guess I just don't really know what the point is of getting more people to join the guild if the ones that are already here don't even do anything, you know?
I mean, I think a thread would be fun and stuff, nice place to roam around in the chatterbox or something, sure. But not so much on the point of trying to get people to join, and rather just some place to hang out that actually notifies you when people post ^_^
