Once at the house Elly opened her eyes, she looked around the police and ambulances were almost to much it made her stomach twist and she felt like she was going to be sick. But she didn't have time for that, she hurried towards the house shoving pasts police until she found her little sister sobbing to a cop about what happened.
"Amber!" she called hurrying towards her side. The little girl turned and wrapped her arms around Elly and started sobbing.
"It's all my fault, Elly! It's all my fault!" she sobbed into her shirt.
"Shh...shh. It's okay Amber. I'm here. Now can you tell me what exactly happened?" she asked talking a tissue from her pocket she handed it to her sister.
"Well, after the fight when you stormed out, mom acted as if it never happened. She went back to washes the dishes when Mitch came down stairs and asked where you were and mom said that she hoped you were in a gutter dead. And I lost. I just can't stand the way both mom and dad treat you Elly, I know I act like I don't care. But I do! And I just lost and started yelling at her and mom took the knife she was washing and came after me with it but Mitch pushed me out of the way when she tried to stab me and he was stabbed in the back once and then once in his shoulder. And...and it's all my fault!" she started sobbing again.
"Amber, Amber. It's not your fault okay? None of this is your fault and it never will be." Elly said trying to soothe her sister she was only thirteen and no thirteen year old should have to be put through something like this. Looking up she saw the paramedics come out of the house with Mitch on a stretcher.
"Mitch!" she called running towards the stretcher as they pushed it towards an ambulance.
"I'm so sorry Mitch." she said seeing her brother in such a horrible state made her want to cry as well. But she had to be strong, for Amber she had to be strong.
"Don't worry, Mitch. I'll take care of things I promise." she called as they put in into the ambulance and drove off. She turned around to see her parents before dragged towards one of the police cars kicking and screaming, she was going to say something to them when a police officer walked up to her.
"Do you have any other relatives you could stay with?" he asked and she looked up at him confused.
"What do you mean? I'm seveteen years old. I think I can take care of my sister and me." she stated wrapping her arm around her sister's shoulder so he couldn't take her away.
"Your still a minor. You need an adult in the house or else we're going to have to take you to a foster home." the officer said.
"A foster home! Your not taking me or my sister to a foster home!" she hissed up at him her arm tightening around her sister.
"I'm sorry but we have too. If you'd just come with him." he said reaching over to grab her wrist. She pulled away from his touch.
"If you want me to come with you your going to have to put me in handcuffs." she hissed, she could feel the coldness rising in her one touch and he'd be a block of ice.
