Cynder began to think of how great it would be to have a mother figure in her life. even if she wasnt her real mother. she was really hoping mia's mom would take her in.

Mia sighed as she thought about her family. Her mom would most likely take Cynder in, and she would have a sister again, but it wouldn't really be the same. .

Rex sighed, "No, my pup was killed." his face had no expression what so ever. "She was..." His voice broke off and his eyes became glassy.

Cynder looked over at Kai and Rex. then she looked back at Mia. she just thought it would be nice to finally have a family of her own.

Kai put her head down in respect. "I'm sorry to hear that" She said, silently wondering where his mate was.
Mia looked at her mom's stance then at Rex. "Someone said something to upset the other I think" Mia stated.

Cynder looked back over at Kai and Rex. "I think your mom might have asked him if i was his pup, and he said his pup had died. i think," she said. she just remembered that she could read lips.

Rax looked at Kai and than at the ground and zone out remembering how his mate and pup were killed... The three of them were walking through the woods when all you could hear was two gun shots and he stood between their lifeless and motionless bodies. than he looked back at her, his pose was poor as if he was cowarding in the corner.

Kai looked at him sadly. "I'm sorry for whatever happened." She tried not to think about what happened with her ex mate. "So how many are in your pack?" She asked, changing the subject. She then looked over to Mia and gave her the signal to come back in.
Mia immediately started walking to her mom before she remembered what she was doing. "My momma just gave me the signal to come over." She explained to Cynder

Cynder followed Mia back to her mom. she moved a bit shyly.

Rex looked at her, "Its not your fault, but i am the only one in may pack right now..." He watched the two smaller wolf as they approached and insured there was no one behind them.

Kai looked at him. "Oh. What happened to the rest?" After she asked she wanted to take it back, she didn't want to upset Rex.
Mia made it to her mom and stood behind her, slightly to the side, but back enough that if Rex tried to get to her her mom could take him down.

Cynder stood behind Mia and listened to the adults talk. she was a very good listener and an even better learner. she started to think of the wolf families she had seen before and how happy they were.

Rex looked at her, "They left after I broke down when my family was taken from me, I was the alpha, but they considered me weak and turned from me." He sighed and looked down. "Since than I have been on my own, about 3 years now."

Kai shook her head. "It wasn't a very good pack then. You should start on making a new one, one with better pack mates"
Mia was listening and almost felt sorry for Rex. She wasn't though. She had learned the hard way that those who could hurt or kill you, should not be trusted
