Shaymer I have found that music does indeed amplify emotions. When I'm relaxed, listening to something that soothes me will guarentee me falling asleep. They can also invoke memories too. If not a specific song to a specific memory. Try listening to say...hit songs that played during the summer one year, and see if you remember anything.
Now im going to be curious if anyone else actually did this, because I can hear one or two songs from a summer between school and remember all the great/horrible memories that those songs remind me of.

Jumper by Third-eye Blind saved a friend of mines life. It reminded him of better times. Music does invoke memories...

May I ask if theres any song that reminds you of a memory? You dont have to be specific.

"The Middle" by Jimmy Eat World reminds me when I met my two best friends in middle school... What about yourself?

I don't think music can change people. It can change your mood but not who you are as a person. I frequently use music as a way to affect my mood, to calm me down when I'm angry or cheer me up if I'm sad but it's too transient to truly change me.

Yes it changes your mood but it can also help to change who you are if you actually think about what it is you are listening to then it can change you how you view things and how you act. Just like how T.V. can make you think to act certain ways music can an does the same thing.

I have found that music can change the attitude one faces the day with. Try listening to upbeat music all day and ones thought tend towards good feelings a generally happier day.

Sure it can change your mood for awhile but I don't think it can change who you are is what I meant. Lots of things can affect your mood, even smells, but they generally aren't permanent.

It all depends on the kind of person you are really. Music can help one along the road to change. I do see your point however.

I personally am just not so easily affected, at least not by music. Probably at least partly because I skip around too much to ever hear a song all the way through or in the proper order. ^^;

Music can teach one patience as well. That is more from learning to play a musical instrument however.
