Karin nodded at his question, "I very much so. I think if it hadn't been the angels I wouldn't just hurt my eye when the bear attacked me," she said to him. She looked at Chase seeing him look at the sky and she also wondered if he did. "Do you?" she asked him.

Chase nodded, and his gaze returned to Karin. "I believe in them very much. I always loved the stories of guardians angels, who watched over unfortunate humans, protecting them from harm and helping them to prosper." He told her. Chase laughed silently to himself. He had just told her about himself, though she would have no way of knowing that.

Little did Karin know that Chase was an angel that was her guardian. She was completely clueless about it as she looked at him. She nodded agreeing with him not knowing he was talking about himself. She tilted her head to the side wondering why he was laughing.

Chase chuckled and continued to look at Karin. "Do you believe there is a guardian angel watching over you?" He asked, interested in her answer.

Karin blinked at him surprised by his question. She looked to the sky and held a soft and smiling look upon her face. She nodded slowly before answering, "I do. I think its my mother. I think she's watching me right now," she whispered. Her eyes lpooked soft and kind as she looked up.

Chase sighed. "I hate to disappoint you, but I think you're wrong. Your mother may be watching you, but I doubt she has become a guardian angel. You know, they say sometimes you can see or hear your guardian angel, if they want you to." He told her, his smile warm and gently.

Karin blinked at him when she heard him, "How do you know who my guardian angel is? No one ever knows who their Angel is. I just think it might be my mother. I don't know whats happening up there with my mom but I just got to believe it and she might be," she said to him softly. Karin knew it might not be her mother but it didn't matter to her since she felt warm inside thinking it might be her

Chase chuckled. "My apologies. it's just that from my beliefs, Those that guard young women such as yourself are male angels, with love in their hearts. I don't mean to offend you, Karin." He told her, placing a hand on her shoulder.

Karin looked at him and blushed slightly from her ranting she did. "I'm sorry for going off on you," she said to him. Karin rubbed the back of her head gently while looking down at the ground. She didn't think that guardian angels were a specific gender when guarding a human.

Chase laughed lightly and decided to take a risk. "It's alright. Hey, what if I was really an angel? Not just ANY angel, but your own personal Guardian Angel? now wouldn't that be interesting?" He asked. He wondered if she would make any remarks about his dark appearence and clothing.

Karin looked at him and blinked as she tilted her head to other side. "An Angel? You?" She asked as she was contenplating if he was her guardian angel. She took a bite of her sandwich before swallowing it. "I would be freaked out by it but I would get use to it," she said to him. She told the truth she didn't care about his dark appearance and clothing. "You would make a good angel," she said to him.

Chase blinked a few times in surprise, and he looked at Karin with a new interest. She seemed unfazed by his question, and she had actually complimented him as well. "I...would? You mean...you enjoy my company?" He asked. He was stunned by Karin, and he didn't know what to say. His hand still rested on her shoulder, as he had forgotten it was there.

Karin nodded at him showing the still caringness in her eyes. "Of course you would. Yeah. Why wouldn't I?" She asked him. She wondered why he was asking her if he would. She noticed he was stunned by her kindness she gave. Karin continued eatting her sandwich and finishing it.

Chase stred at Karin for a moment before his smile returned and he composed himself. "Well, thank you. Though we haven't really spoken for very long, I'm glad you believe I would be a good guardian. Hell, maybe some day I WILL need to protect you. Hopefully that will never be needed, though." He said warmly. His voice still had that strange calming aura, and his very words seemed to make things warmer.

Karin stuffed the plastic bag for her sandwich in her bag before looking at him. She shugged her shoulders, "I doubt it. The only problem is the one guy at work but its not that bad," she said to him. She felt the warmth inside of her when he was talking.
