Zephyr had watched as Kura led the pride toward the den. The rain wasn't far behind of them but they made it. There was loud cracks of thunder and lightning flashed across the sky. The large white lion had made sure all of the pride was safely in the den. It was comfortable with all the moss and such. He watched as the females settled down. Stretching slightly, he then laid down himself. His mouth stretched in a yawn. They would all be safe in the den away from the rain and protected from it. His rounded ears flickered slightly, taking in all the noises. The white lion didn't hear any other predators around such as hyenas or anything. Every animal would most likely be trying to huddle away from the rain and find shelter. But this den had the strong smell of the various the big cats and thus none would try to come here. The other predators would have too much to lose. He padded towards the entrance before letting out another loud roar. This was his warning for others to stay away. He then sat down not far from the entrance and glanced around alert. The male felt the urge to keep watch for a little while at least to make sure all was well.

Naomi had watched as Kura led the way. She seemed to know the way which had been obvious since the ligress was the lead female. Naomi had been following Vrou when the female suddenly slipped backwards. The ligress turned, crystal ice blue gaze confused briefly. Had she not wanted the newcomer to follow after her? But it hadn't been so. The thunder was so loud that she hadn't heard the exchange between Vrou and Kura. But she spotted Vrou helping a smaller female that looked like a mixture between a lion and a cheetah. How that had happened, the female had no idea. But soon the pride gathered into the den. Once everyone was inside, Zephyr had moved to the entrance of the den. The female laid down, the rainy making her drowsy. Her cubs kicked within her belly and the thought that they would come soon was echoing through her mind. But for now, it was just time to rest. Finding a corner a little away from everyone, the ligress settled in the soft, comfortable moss and fell into a light slumber.

Seeing now the entire pride coming into the den, Kura was happy that no one got left behind. At the sound of Zephyr's roar, Kura let out a chuff and a grunt to back up his threat to the world. Padding forward, she stood beside Zephyr as he watched the rain come towards them. As Kura's rough tongue started to groom Zephyr's shoulder, the rain hit the den. Beads of cold rain pelted against the rocks, but the shelter stayed water tight as always. Laying her body down now, Kura continued to groom Zephyr. This was a behaviour that all female's did to each other and to the male in the pride. Grooming kept the bonds of the pride intact and kept the pride free of bugs and/or pests that could otherwise harm another pride memeber and get them sick. Lighting danced in the sku, the loud drumming of thunder rippled through the savana. Far off in the distance a heard of zebra could be heard whinnying away in the rain. For the young horse-like creatures, the rain was exciting and new. "Any day now and my cubs will be born." Kura spoke in a soft voice as her rough tongue glided over Zephyr's shoulder, back and side. Her pink tongue rinch in color compaired to Zephyr's milky hide.

The white male had been watching the rain. Outside the snorts of zebras seemed to fill the distance. The lightning continued to flash across the sky and the thunder roared. Zephyr scented the air and didn't catch anything dangerous nearby. Besides what would be stupid enough to try and attack a pride of lions? Not only was he strong, but he also had many females to back him up. The male acknowledged Kura as she sat down beside of him. She could feel his tongue, grooming his coat and a loud purr rumbled through his chest. Being groomed by her pink tongue was relaxing and it kept the bugs and dirt off his pelt. He listened as she spoke and then dipped his head in a nod before turning. "You should rest, the little ones need you full of energy for when that day shall come." he stated calmly. The huge lion's amber gaze focused on Kura before letting his tongue softly lick her over one ear and then nudging her gently. He did wonder what kind of cubs would result from this female. Most likely others of her kind, though there was a chance they could turn out with just the lion side as more dominant.

Zephyr had relaxed as the ligress continued to clean his coat. The soothing rhythm seemed to lull him into sleepiness but he shook it off after she finished. The she-cat needed to sleep more then he did. Besides he had plenty of time to simply sleep during the day or night should he choose. The lionesses did all the hunting after all. He then turned to Kura who was lying next to him. His tongue slowly started to lick at her coat, trying to get her to relax and fall asleep as well as cleaning her pelt. The large white male could see that most of the pride was already asleep. He knew that she needed her rest because her cubs were very reliant on her. The male's rounded ears swiveled slightly taking in some sounds. He could hear some zebras whinnying in the distance. After he managed to lull Kura into sleep, he would go out and hunt himself. That way, they would have food for the morning. It would be easy to catch the zebras off guard. He would have a chance, he just needed to bide his time.

Zephyr watched as Kura grew sleepy. He finished grooming her and she was fast asleep. The white male glanced around, knowing everybody was safe. It was time for him to go hunting. The females especially the pregnant ones needed a lot of food so that the cubs would be fat with health when born. The male also didn't like that the females thought he was useless. Giving Kura one last lick on the head, he then padded out the entrance. The warm rain splattered onto his coat as soon as he stepped out. Amber gaze narrowed slightly as he spotted the zebra herd in the distance. The herd were fat from good months of lots of food. There hadn't been any lack of plants for them this year, making the grass eaters bellies fat and also making the creatures themselves with a lot of meat. Paws silently padded through the grass as he crept towards the herd. Already, his eyes had spotted the biggest and fattest stallion.

Zephyr continued to watch the stallion, watching as he actually separated himself from the herd. The white lion couldn't believe his luck. Maybe the stallion thought he was strong enough to take on any predators or maybe it was just rash. Regardless of the case, the white lion crouched low. The rain made the ground full of puddles and the slightest sound would force the zebra to flee. Watching his paw steps, he crept closer and closer. The rain was to the male's advantage because it made things harder to see. The lion's eye sight was still good as he watched carefully. Rounded ears swiveling as then charged forward. His giant paw steps ate up the ground as he then pounced, aiming to bite onto the zebra's neck!

It felt like it had been years since Vrou had slept so well, but she was grateful for such a nice sleep by the time she woke. No, she wasn't fully rested, but a soft whimpering came to her ears during her dreamless slumber. She couldn't help but wake, having grown attuned to listening for prey sounds (or predator ones) with her many months alone.
Expecting some sort of injured animal when she woke, Vrou was surprised to find the source of the noise to be Kura. Despite it seemed a bit odd for such a large cat to be making such noises, the lioness stood and stretched, being careful not to disturb the other females, then padded to the ligress's side. She sat down beside the larger female, then sighed gently. Vrou looked to the swollen belly once, then lied down and licked Kura just above the ear softly so not to wake her, but perhaps calm the female.
After that, her attention turned to the savannah outside the cave. The male seemed to have left, to who knows where, but Vrou figured that he probably had to do something important or male-related, so she didn't bother thinking on it too long.
