He smirked as well, "I just like to keep everyone on their toes."

The other two people in there with them, a man and a woman, were a couple actually, and their thoughts mostly dwelt on each other, but they always kept on thinking of how awkward and embarrassing it was to have the Commodore and Lieutenant there. Treize's thoughts were surprisingly blank. He was focusing on the warmth of the sauna penetrating his skin and how good it felt. But he also thought about how Tasha could read his mind which brought him to think on how beautiful she looked, and then he would silently curse himself for thinking that. "Do you have family back home Tasha," he suddenly asked, trying to break the silence, and to get to know his officer.

"Hmm, yes. The life of a warrior is a lonely one." He paused reminiscing on his past, "my family died in a fire when I was 19 while I was away at the Brussels Naval Academy.... I miss them all greatly, but I have faith I will see them again someday." He paused again, both to relax and to try and repress the wall of emotion that still occupied the subject of his lost family. "After I graduated the Academy I have been in the Navy ever since. I have friends back on Earth, but most of them are friends of my family and I have never really known them that well, but I feel it is my duty to maintain the ties, both for them and myself."

He was sad to see her hurt like that. He got up as well and left. He saw her leave but didn't approach her, somethings were best dealt with alone. Thus is the hard life of a warrior. After dressing he returned to the bridge to see the status of things.

"How are things on the DRADIS?" Treize asked when he arrived.

"Same as always, just staring at a black screen all day.... Do you think they even know we are here?"

"Yes, I am almost certain of it." Treize looked at the monitors of sensors, trying to perhaps see something that no one else had. "Send a Mass Sensor Probe out to these coordinates." He pointed to an area on the outskirts of the system."

"Yes sir" DRADIS worked by detecting electrical and radiation sensors. It was the standard ship detecting system because of it's superior range to all other sensors, and it was very difficult to evade except by shutting down nearly all of your systems. But starships also carried other sensors on board a well, but they were not as often used. Thermal Sensors could detect heat and Mass Sensors could detect the mass and shape of an object. Usually these sensors were only used to evade asteroids, but they could technically detect a ship as well.

The probe was deployed a moment later and Treize watched as it detected the asteroid belt, and then went beyond that into the nothingness of space. It traveled on and all of a sudden it detected something on the outskirts of the system. "Get that up on the holoprojector, now!"

They displayed what the probe had detected to get a 3D view of it. They were a couple dozen objects and although the resolution was not perfect they clearly resembled the ship they had encountered in the Nebula. "damn it, contact all other squadrons on what we have found and order all ships to raise shields, ready weapons, and scramble fighters."

"Aye sir!" Mr. Tanaka took the horn and relayed the orders, "this is the ExO, all hands to battle stations, I repeat all hands to battle stations. This is not a drill."

The Eldar Fleet Master quickly realized that the alien invaders had detected their presence. He gave the order to power up all ships and begin the attack.

On the Hyperion's DRADIS about 100 dots lit up like little Christmas tree lights all around the system indicating the presence of enemy ships powering up. The Eldar ships approached very quickly and they were within visual distance in a matter of moments. The ships were much more varied than just the one the had encountered in the nebula. Some were bigger and some were smaller but they were all of similar design.

A squadron came right toward Treize's squadron. "All batteries, fire!" In response all of his ships opened fire and dozens of missiles went flying into the Eldar forces. Some of the smaller more nimble ships were able to dodge this attack, but the larger ones were hit and they were even successful in destroying 1 cruiser.

Once the Eldar ships were in range they fired their weapons into the human fleet and emptied their hangars and unleashed a swarm of deadly fighters and bombers. The larger ships quickly dodged away before they could be attacked again, leaving the fighters and destroyers to fly circles around the cumbersome human ships and attack as they willed.

The Eldar fighters seemed to be just as armored as the UNSC fighters, albeit faster and more maneuverable.

Treize watched as UNSC ships engaged the Eldar all through out the system. They were outnumbered, and the Eldar had superior weapons and technology. Right now the fight seemed pretty even, but that was because the squadrons of UNSC ships were still holding their tight formations. It seemed the Eldar could not engage them in a large scale fleet battle so they used their destroyers to launch hit and run attacks on the UNSC ships while the rest of the Eldar fleet stayed back waiting for their moment to strike. All the while those damned alien fighters harried the UNSC some more. Treize had ordered another salvo of missiles to be launched, along with some Nukes, but all of the ordinance was stopped by the Eldar equivalent of a missile long before they could hurt them. Every time he chased after them they quickly moved further away. Colonel Isard watched it all without saying a word. Treize looked over to her to see if she had anything to say, but she just continued to watch the holoprojector. He could see her calculating behind those cold eyes, and he was worried what her predictions for the battle were. "Get me Admiral Woolsey," he said. An officer gave him a comm, "Admiral Woolsey, this isn't working, we need to fall back and rethink our strategy. If we don't we will slowly be torn apart."

"Agreed. All forces join with my squadron in orbit of the planet."

(That order was directed to the capital ships. Fighters basically just form a protective swarm around their home ship or they are sent on long range missions to strike the enemy at strategic points. In this case you are doing the former)
