The Hero of Justice

He barely saw the weapon coming, and just intime he leaped and put his feet up agianst the pole and leaped a couple meters back. His side wound opened again and he fell to the ground in a kneeling position, clutching his side and his back hurting a lot. He thought he might have done it, but he wasn't sure. Maybe he should... that was it! The instrument! He had to do something about it.

Kairen opened her eyes sleepily, recharged by the electricity she absorbed. The moment she saw the man attacking her opponent, she glared and lost her tranquilness. The harp sounded in loud chords of dissonant waves and hits. The sky was as bright as day, lit with streaks of violet and white light. The land looked eerie under her god storm.

"Thank you for the energy, you should never recharge me though." She flew straight upwards from mid air until she was among the clouds of lightning. Gathering the forced of half her storm, she plummeted downwards in a spiraling dive, taking a net of violet with her. The battle was hers.

He smiled. "You think you can simply 'take' my energy? Hah. My lightning is a part of myself, and now..." With a great mental force, he used his polarized energy to nulify her own. It was harsh and his blood now flowed freely out of his wounds. He was short of breath, sweating heavily, and wounded badly, but he hoped that he had done it.

"Damn it!" She crashed into the ground, forming a massive crater with an electric net to stop her fall. The harp at her side let out a cacophonous trill, and a string broke. Kairen winced when it snapped, feeling a lance driven into her heart. She plucked a few others, strengthining herself with a song of renewal. Her eyes glowered dangerously, but her body wouldn't obey her mind anymore. She sat down hard, unable to get up again.

He stood, trembling horribly. He used what little was left of his energy to grab his chains and cloak, wrapping his cloak and one chain around him and he took off into the sky, fleeing the scene.

Lance, having just stopped being semi-catatonic because his player was under the impression that this thread was dead and stopped looking for it, watches the fallen angel leave the area. He then turns to the girl who is now sitting in the middle of a large crater and walks toward her slowly and nonthreateningly.
"Can you walk?" he asks gently as he kneels next to her. "You are injured and this is not the place to treat you."

She didn't look up, but trembled in pain. The harp tremored in echoes, "... have the decency to make it fast... I want to get to my final rest... " She spoke between her teeth, holding back a scream when a sudden wind blew the tiniest bits of dirt into her wounds. "If you're going to kill... do it now! Put me out of my misery already..."

Lance rolls his eyes.
"I'll take that as a 'no'," the massive draconian rumbles softly, ever so gently lifting her from the ground and pulling his wings close around them both to act as a windbreak. He holds her in the crook of his arm, so that her weight is propped up against his torso and he can effectively shield her entire body. It is much too cold to be outside; to do so wounded is sheer lunacy. Having cared for wounded on the battlefield before, he is mindful of her injuries and looks about for a path after verifying that the damaged harp is indeed in his charge's arms. Picking one at random (the one, incidentally, that leads deeper into the forest, though he does not know that), Lance begins to walk in his chosen direction.

((Okay, which direction are you wanting this to go? Your character dies, roleplay ends, we all go our separate ways and this falls to the end of the list of rps and is eventually deleted, or Lance keeps your character from dying (some way or another) and we keep going in the hopes that it startes up again?))

((take a guess. ^^ I don't like killing off my character, but I have to put down what would've been the minimum of that crazy long fight. I don't think Kairen was supposed to survive it, but since she did, I'll put her in your hands. ^^ ))

((Well, you'll note that I said that Lance lacks any offensive magics...))

Yes, this will do nicely.
Lance slowly walks into the relatively small-mouthed cave and moves back to the back, some one hundred yards from the mouth. It's a small area, more of a very wide tunnel, but it is deep enough. The massive draconian builds a small bed of leaves for his unexpected charge, and then builds a small fire. Just large enough to heat the space, just small enough to not kill them through anoxia.
"There, now. That's better. I'll have dinner ready before long, but before that we'll have to get you to stop dying."
With that, he swings his fist at the rock wall, shattering off a piece of stone. Then, dragging it across the ground around the girl's bed, he creates a circle within which are a number of other runes. Then, there is a bright glow and Lance falls backwards onto his haunches.
"There...that...ought to hold you...until the next time you decide to try and get yourself killed...," the giant says as he removes his helmet and wipes a massive hand across his brow. "...hoo. I always forget how much energy those stupid healing spells take...though it does take more energy depending on how much healing they're doing...and you were about as much healing as I could do."

Light mended the broken harp strings. Violet eyes snapped open in a flash of silver light. Kairen had no distinct memory of how she had gotten there, but still thought she was in the middle of her fight. She leapt to her feet, her sword drawn, finding focus in her eyes. The smell of burnt earth no longer lingered beneath her nose. He harp sounded slowly, plucking individual strings by itself. She stilled them with a hand to avoid giving away her inner emotions. Her sword returned to the sheath as she faced upwards, reading the dark face that was her savior's.

"...you?" She walked a little closer, boldly but still a bit shy. Her draconian blood hummed, telling her to be wary. The faerie gossamer wings laced with electricity as violet as her eyes. "I guess I owe you this one..." She thanked him in the universal tongue, "Grassiermesso."

Lance, from his position on the floor, looks up at the woman and waves slightly. Then, falling backwards slightly to lean on the wall, he speaks.
"The pleasure...is all mine, I assure you. You owe me nothing...ugh...except maybe...oh, I'm too tired for wit."

Kairen shook her head and played a slow minor arpeggio on her harp, then a slightly faster major one a note higher, followed by a faster minor arpeggio another note beyond until she reached the end of the harp. The song of new power gave all that hears it, as it suggests, new power. It was one of the first spell songs she learned as a student mage. It was one she used most frequently as a runaway adventurer.

"I will cook for you, if you find yourself unable to walk without toppling." She began unpacking her belongings, quickly setting up a floating soup cauldron over a magical violet fire. Rainwater fell into the pot at her beck and call while she rummaged for the soup packages she bought in the last town. They were handy little paper packets with all the powder components for a thick, creamy soup. All she had to add was water and fresh ingredients, or the smoked rabbit meat from yesterday.
