Yes Manah is quite a Villian, especially with here deep Watchers voice. *Shudders* it always sends a chill down my spine.

If you think she's annoying in the second, wait 'til you see her in the first one.

I believe they were supposed to be "the gods"...

but I dunno.

You only need to fight them to get one of the five endings. They're not really crucial for the main story.

The elf girl, who's name is Arioch, is insane, because her children were slaughtered and when she closed the pact with the Undine and Salamander, she lost her womb, making her unable to have children anymore, thus leading her to insanity, killing children.
But when she saw those big, cuddly, monster babies she wanted to hug them or something. But they ate her instead.

The rest of them died trying to save the world.

She is messed up.
I don't know why she was bloody, I never played enough to get that ending. Only the first three.

Well, the story is about Caim, a warrior and prince of the Union.
His sister is Furiae, who is the current goddess. He has a best friend who is called Inuart, who was supposed to marry Furiae, but when she became a goddess, they couldn't. But he loves her so much he just wouldn't let go.
The Union is at war with the Empire, and while Caim was still young, he saw his parents get slain by a Black Dragon of the Empire.
From that day he grew a hatred for both Dragons and the Empire, and wouldn't let anything stop him from destroying both.

One day at the battlefield, Caim is severly wounded, as he runs in through the gates of the Union castle, he finds a Red Dragon chained down, who is also at the verge of death. At first, Caim wants to kill it, but the Red Dragon stops him. She makes a proposal to make a pact, as it is the only way to heal them from their wounds.
They both hate eachothers species, but they still form the pact.
And nothing did they know that from that day on, nothing would stop them from seperating.

So with their new found strength they take on the entire Empire all alone. They meet with several people on their way;
Verdelet, an old hierarch who has a pact with a petrified Dragon, which made him lose his hair. He is the only one who can hear the Goddess' calls. But, he cannot fight.
Leonard, a blind man whose village was destroyed, and blames himself, he formed a pact with a, little psychotic, Faerie, whose pact price was his eyesight.
Arioch, the insane elf lady we spoke about earlier. I already told you about her.
Seere, an 6-year old boy who formed a pact with a Stone Golem, and the pact price was his time. Making him stay 6-years old, forever. He formed the pact only to find his sister, who wandered of to the mountians and never came back. His sister was Manah.

Later, the Goddess is kidnapped, Inuart joins the Empire and forms a pact with a Black Dragon, hoping he will gain the power to save Furiae.
Caim searches for Furiae, Inuart goes insane and fights Caim.
The seals who helps the Goddess to uphold the world are all destroyed. Furiae dies. The world breaks asunder.
Caim kills Inuart, but during one of their fights, the Red Dragon saves Caim from being killed by the Black Dragons fire, creating a bond between them.

The world has never been worse, but Caim and the Red Dragon fights on. They fight several strong opponents, but they kill them all.
The Seeds of Resurrection has been sown upon the world, which will destroy it in order to recreate it to start over again.
In order to stop this, the world needs a new Goddess.
But before this, they had to stop who caused all this. That one was Manah.
She had been controlled by the Cult of the Watchers to do their biddings, but she only gave in because she wanted her mother to love her.
After the battle, the Red Dragon said that she would become the new Goddess.
This is a painful procedure, and Caim cries his first tears, losing what had become his closest friend and ally.
The Red Dragon speaks her name. She said that he would be the first, and the last to ever know it. As Dragons very rarely say their names to humans.
Her name was Angelus.

Angelus becomes the new Goddess, the world is saved and back to its former state, Caim takes Manah, Verdelet creates the Knights of the Seal, and 18 years later, Drakengard 2 begins.
