Starscream's gaze shifted from Jazz toward the cavern, easily hearing the distressed chirps and whistles deep inside. He had no idea what was happening in there, but he could hazard a guess - someone was probably getting overly rough in his play as usual. He needed to break it up before it grew out of claw, especially since the organic orphan could not endure the kind of rough play the sparklings could.
He shifted his attention back to Jazz, hesitating. He hated feeling so helpless and vulnerable, but when he was trying to take care of himself, look where that got him... "...I don't understand why you're doing this or what's in it for you...but the fact that my sparklings would be dead without your assistance is undeniable. It would be stupid to tell you 'no'." With that, he slowly started past Jazz, murmuring softly as he passed the white mech, "They're all I have anymore."

Jazz glanced over his shoulder as well, hearing the noise of the sparkling from the cavern as well, but he didn't watch it long before looking back at the seeker when he spoke again.
his beak parted slight as he listened, not saying anything until he heard the last comment, optical frames clicking softly as h shifted to the side when Starscream passed."M'not expectin' anythin' for myself bro, ya don't even have to trust me, just doin' that I feel is the right thing to do." he explained "I know they gatta mean somethin' to ya, so-" he paused grinning and sliding back a little "thats why I wanna help out.” with that Jazz looked up to the sky, taking up some readings on the storm. “S’ganna be a rough one tonight. And its comin’ fast.” He warned Starscream, then turned back to look at him.“Sorry to bolt, but like I said, its comin' fast” has to get a move on or he’s going to get stuck on the mountain. pushing himself forward and jumping over to one of the lower rocks.

Starscream glanced after him once more as the other mech darted down the mountainside. He frowned when he felt his spark clench slightly in worry as he wondered if Jazz would be able to get out of the mountains in time. Starscream shook it off and turned back to his cave. Jazz was in good shape and fast - he would be fine. With a nod to convince himself, Starscream reached down to take the newest bundle of supplies in his beak and continued into his cavern.
