Rioko looked away, towards the door. He shook his head and fluttered his wings a little as if his was ready to go. "Oh it's... not important right now," he answered quietly, "... Let's come back here after dinner, then I'll tell you..." Rioko was actually just nervous about what he wanted to tell her... he thought this might actually be better, giving him time to think about what to say over dinner. After all, it was a rather... important and meaningful topic. "Is Flame a good cook...?" he asked out of the blue while standing up and starting to climb out of the bird house, "It smells good out here..."
Erik rolled his eyes, shaking his head and sighing as he was met with her heated demand. His hands returned to his pockets and he slouched back while he stood. The German man was extremely sexist when it came to a woman giving him orders. He confidently held strong feelings that women were inferior to men; hence his lack of respect toward them.
"I'm brimming with terror already," he mocked, chuckling shortly afterward, "Look, darlin', you have some serious f*cking social problems, okay. Maybe you should go outside once in a while, or go to the mall to shop or somethin' and get used to the world." Erik blew her off with a short hand motion regarding the middle finger... then headed towards the door. He turned though to add one more thing. "Uh, but get someone else to do your clothes shoppin' for you, because d*mn..." He opened the door and returned to his black muscle car; he'd rather be at the party anyway.

Skyfire look over at Rioko and smiled, she kissed his cheek and took hnis hand. "What ever you say is important" she asured himwraping her tail around his while she buzzed her wings.
"Flame's the best cook ever" Skyfire bragged, "She learned from her family cook and Flame loves to cook so she does it every day" Skyfire told Rioko, pulling him out to the kitchen lovingly.
Flame's ears went back as her tail swished back and forth anigerly. She then let out a long breath and then took several deep breaths. No good to get all angry. She sighed once and turned back to the food. At least he was gone.
The fariy neko looked up as Skyfire pulled Rioko out. "Hello Rioko" she said a bit nutrally. How close was this young fenthry with that rude man?

Rioko was comforted by her kiss, and the feeling of her tail swirling around his. He followed her out to the kitchen, ready to eat; he hadn't really eaten anything all day. And if Flame was a good cook than of course he was even more eager. "Then I can't wait to have some," he giggled, "Pirate would burn down the house if she ever tried to cook something other than Macaroni and Cheese right out of the box." He rolled his eyes with a sigh.
Rioko's view moved to Flamefire as she said his name. There was a slight hesitation, then he responded "Hey." He was a bit distracted, wondering where Erik had gone. By the sound of Flame's yelling just a little while ago he assumed Erik wasn't being so nice... "Uh... where's Eri-" The gray Fenthry stopped himself before he finished, hearing the roaring motor of Erik's car zooming away.
Rioko decided he need not say anymore...

"He left" Flame said firmly, her tail twitching out of aggervation and an anoyence. Her hand griped the utesenal estra tight and she sometimes set things down a bit too hard. It was clear she was battling to keep ahold of her temper. She took a few deep breaths then served the food.
Skyfire watched Flame's jerky movements with wide eyes and then held Rioko extra tight. She could tell Flame was real mad and Flame rarely got mad. She hoped Erik hasn't ruined Rioko's repuation for him. Rioko was a good person, he just didn't have the best friends.

He left? Rioko could only thank God he left before something worse happened... His ocean blue eyes watched as Flame roughly set the table, wincing slightly. Although he knew it was something Erik had done, he still felt as if he was responsable... And honestly, he kinda was. He suddenly felt the nervousness build up inside him again. This wasn't starting very well.
"Um... Erik's been drinking, Flame," the male Fenthry said uneasily, not sure if he should attempt to apologize or not, "I'm sorry about whatever he did, he takes some getting used to I suppose..." Rioko laughed weakly wondering if he should just sit on the table like he normally did...

Flame looked over at Rioko, her eyes capturing the young fenthries for a long moment then she smiled slowly.
"You're still a good person aren't you Rioko?" she asked him, head titled to one side, listening close for the answer.
Skyfire wanted to yell out that Rioko was a great person. That he was sweet, kind and caring but she knew Flame wanted Rioko to confirm it for her. So Skyfire kept her tounge while she contined to hold Rioko's hand.

That was a hard question. Rioko wasn't sure what to say... was he a good person? The silent gray Fenthry thought to himself... He got drunk often, he hated his own family, he cussed frequently, he shoplifted and stole money, he went to dirty clubs with Erik all the time... As he thought about it... No, he wasn't a 'good' person. But... how could he say that to Flame, Skyfire's mother figure?
"Well...I'm not-" he hesitated again, taking a breath, "I'm not perfect." He bit his lip, "not even near perfect" he wanted to add, but looked down at the floor contemplating his lifestyle. He liked it... of course he did; but he knew Skyfire didn't, and Flame wouldn't. He held to Skyfire's hand tightly, glancing at her with a worried look.
Rioko decided he wouldn't lie, and then he suddenly just blurted out, "No... "

Flame watched Rioko carefully durning this, seeing the emtion that flickered over his face while he struggled over his answer. Then she glanced to Skyfire when he did answer, she looked ready to defend him but she held up a hand.
"Why are you not a good person Rioko?" Flame asked, intrest, not judgement, in her voice when she watched him with mildly intrested eyes. No other emtions, postive or negtive in her eyes.

Rioko looked up at Flame now, brushing some hair away from his face. She wanted to know why? If he told her just 'why' exactly, then he doubted she'd ever let him near Skyfire again. Oh, some of the things that he'd done... He sighed... And quite possible even worse: the things he hadn't done when he should have.
"I've... done a few things that... aren't so smart, or nice, or honorable..." He took another breath; heh, a few things. Who was he kidding? His entire life had been swirling around the "bad" things to do in every situation. Though, somehow he managed to be almost completely opposite around Skyfire. He felt like he had to (and he very well should).
"A lot of things," he then added, "Things that I really shouldn't tell about... or do, for that matter." Rioko tilted his head, wondering. He just said that he knew what he did was wrong... and he still liked doing it? All the time? ... He seemed to just keep dropping further and further...

"Then why do you do it?" Flame asked softly, watching the young fenthry quietly. "I know Pirate would be one to try at least to teach smart, nice and honorable too you" Flame watched him carefully, to see how he replied to the mention of his family.
"And do you act that way around Skyfire?" And this question a bit of a hard tone entered Flame's voice. Now she was protecting her first daughter.

"Because," his eyes flickered to Flame, then back to the floor, "... I want to. It's just... in my nature." He was sure that wasn't really the answer she was looking for, but there was no point in lying. So far this wasn't going well at all, he thought, and Rioko wished he would have just stayed at the party with Erik. How could he even imagine Flame would accept his new self.
When she mentioned Pirate, Rioko exhaled, almost a sigh and almost a snarl... somewhat of both. Pirate constantly ranted and disapproved of everything he did; between getting drunk and getting high in her own house, Rioko deserved it. And most of all, she hated Erik, and she had banned him from her home after he'd put Aaron in the hospital for 3 days. If Pirate hated Erik, then he would hate Pirate, and that's just the way it was.
"Oh, yes... Pirate b*tches at me 24/7..." he scowled, looking at the floorboards. Then he heard her next question, and how her tone had changed. She wasn't going to like him much after all this, he sensed... But that happened all the time, so he was getting used to it... "I love Skyfire," he answered steadily, his view shifting to Flame again, "I do my best not to act too bad around her, but I know she'd love me even if I did..." Rioko wondered silently, however, if that was really true; not that he wanted to try it...

"natures can change" Flame mused as she looked over the small creature. It was not in her nature to give second chances, life had been too hard on her and to try and trust once was hard enough but she wasn't sure Rioko had ruined his first one.
He admited all his faults, and did nothing to try and impress her. He swore once, but she wasn't going into his loyaty to Pirate. And most importantly of all he seemed to mean it when he said he loved Skyfire, who still stayed close by his side.
Flame could tell by that bright look in Skyfire's eyes that if this went bad Skyfire would still see Rioko. That would be very anoying. So Flame nodded to the table once and then went to get the dinner.
"Come on, dinner's geting cold"

Rioko knew at once that Flame was not pleased with him... well, who was? Skyfire was, he thought to himself, and that's all that really mattered, right? He started to feel like their relationship would get harder though... since Flame didn't seem very happy about it; about him, really.
"Okay," he answered, an emotionless reply. He wasn't sure wether to pretend he was still happy, or to show he wasn't feeling too good. It seemed best just to stay nuetral, so he did. However, he flashed a little bit of his true feelings in an unhappy-looking glance to Skyfire. Then he fluttered his wings and flew silently upwards just a bit, wondering where he was to be seated.

Skyfire looked at Rioko and then quickly kissed his cheek while she squeezed his hand and lead him to a seat near hers. "I love you too" she said quietly. "Don't worry, Flame isn't really mad you" she tried to calm. "Just prove to her you can be nice. I know you're a good person Rioko" she said, squeezing his hand again.
She wraped her tail around his again andleaned against him. She was here for him, and Skyfire wanted him to know that.
Flame glanced back as she filled the fenthry sized plates. She saw Skyfire holding Rioko close and sighed. This was going to be hard but Flame wnated to give Rioko a real chance. He deserved it, and even if he didn't, Skyfire did.
