Craban laughed and wiggled the rose when Aron put it in his mouth.
"Very dashing. How about your lead in the fun-times and i'll follow."
He glnaced aroudn and spotted Sangre talking with Akira. well at least he was well taken care of, he'd meet up with the drow later whe he and Aron got to know each otehr some more. He didn't know what it was baout the young human that captivated him. he supposed that the guy was so innocent that it was unique to him - he had never met anyone like it.

[Lord Adel's mini speech thing is coming, Ijust have to write it. Gotta make dinner first >< lol]

Akira saw how Sangre left them and she felt like she had picked wrong person to start with.she looked to Lucas" You don't need to be blessed to hate. It is a normal feeling that everybody have even you, so why don't you go somewhere else and stop talking about a father. God do not exist" Akira was a bit tired of the talk about religion. She followed her friend and she saw that sangre had the glint in his eyes. " Sangre get back here and do not anything foolish. "

Craban smiled and took Aron's hand, dancing with him, though with a reserved and slightly embarassed manner.
"I've never been much of a dancer, and I doubt my dancing will create any unicorns." he laughed and took the rose. He then leant in a planted a kiss on Aron's lips. he withdrew cleared his throat and leant back a little, as if deciding wether to stop holding hands or not. His embarassment quickly evaporated and he smirked agian.
"It's been a long time since anyone treated me like that. ..I'm jus' saying." The compliment he gave Aron was batted off with a shrug and he turned as the pitch in sound from the conversations of people changed. Lord Adel was obviously getting ready.

"Oh i'm sure i can teach you easily." Azriel smiled. "My horses are some of the best in town. they won't throw you off, I assure you."

There was an increased murmur and the harp playing came to a smooth and graceful end. Lord Adel ascended the small stage and cleared his throat, and gradually the voices died down to a low hum.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, it is a pleasure to be before you today especially as it is to so many of you fine people that I, and the residents of my demesne, owe our lives and freedom.”
He paused as an applause of agreement sounded and he smiled.
“We live in an age of danger, ladies and gentlemen. We are surrounded by the often cruel sea, and the sinister forest, and yet we go on living and carving out lives for ourselves, for it is the human spirit. It is the human spirit to make love out of adversity, to find bravery in terror, and to never turn away from what we believe to be right. The warriors that are before you today, and those poor souls who have given their lives in defence of this town, embody this spirit. They are heroes among men.”
He gave another pause for applause.
“But let me not stop there. Let me extend my gratitude to those average citizens of all classes, who worked hard to evacuate the common people, the needy and the injured, and maintain their safety. Who took stranger’s children under their wings so as to protect them, and who place other’s wellbeing and comfort in front of their own. To them, I also extend my humble gratitude.”
He changed in tone.
“And yet, ladies and gentlemen, we do have regrets, and we do have losses. Many a fine man and woman have lost their lives to the enemy in this battle. I hope that you join me in paying our deepest regrets to those left behind in the mortal realm, and I hope you pray for their swift passage to Heaven and everlasting joy. Please, let us honor them by listing their names.”

At that, he went through a list of names and occupations of the people who had died It took several minutes. Once he was finished the mood was heavier. He took a deep breath.
“And so honoured and in our hearts, we bid them safe passage with our warmest gratitude. But, for now, life is for the living. Let this celebration be the expression of a whole population’s gratitude and joy at triumph. Let us truly toast to the human spirit!”
There was another applause and cheer and a tinkling of glasses being toasted. Lord Adel surveyed the crowd, and the bowed his head in thanks, before withdrawing from the stage.

ignoring Adel's speech Craban fronwed and was about to protest when Licas snatched aron away. he hurried afte rthem, intent on grabbing Aron backa nd giving Lucas a well-deserved punch in the face, but the pair were soon lost in teh crowd. He looked about and then snarled in annoyance.
"Damn it!"
He looked around and checked the doors, wiating for them to come back out. It was about time he had a word with Aron's brother.

[whoops Craban's angry now. He doesn't like people teling each other what to do, epsecially in teh bedorom-department xp ]

Felix listened to the names carefully during teh speech, and was saddned not only by how many there were, but also that he did not know a single one of them. The notion of the faceless dead was a sad one typical of war and slavery.
When tehs peech ended he watched Adel make his way around a few groups of important-looking people, politely socialising.

"he's had plenty of practice." Raven said with another signiture roll of her eyes, although both girls smiled at the compliment.
"You should hear Azriel try and babble out a speech. he has a short attention span for them, don't you pumpkin?" Raven gave a wicked grin at embarassing her younger brother.
Azriel eyed her and shrugged. "I prefer to be actively doing things. i'll employ someone to write them for me."
he shifted hsi attention back to Vence.
"you should be glad it's not in Latin. If you ever go to court, the whole damn thing's in Latin."


Felxi was surpised.
"Really? what's the point in that?"

"Latin is the langauge of law and civilisation." Raven answered, witha toss of black hair and a smile in felix's direction. "to pay homage to our ancestors, who were at the height of such civilisation."


Felix nodded and smiled, keeping eye contact with her. "Ancestors...i understand that quite well I think."

"it's useful for when you're in church. that's usually all in Latin too." Cassandra said.
"It's pretty dull. i'd rather it be in elvish. I hear it sounds like music."

Felix smiled.
"Drwo's not that bad either. more violent. And I'd like to say that my lanaguge isncie to the ear too. From an outsider- Common isn't that bad sounding."
he sractche dteh back of his head, a little embarssed.
