[Back. You have no idea how ******** AWESOME the new overhauls are. You'll see soon. Like usual, I am worth the *frequent* waits. smile ]

Tobias entered the room just when something big happened. With a thunderous rumble, a huge slab of steel slid, of its own accord, into the sandy rock from whence it seemed to emerge.

Doyle simply nodded and shut a few notebooks he had been flipping through before shoving those in his pockets and reaching around in a burlap bag that was draped over his right shoulder. While he did this, he explained what was to come in the room ahead, which was so shrouded by blackness that no one was really able to tell what was going on. Doyle's words were all they had.

"Okay...so to protect this treasure of mine - and believe me, you'll see what a treasure it is soon enough - I've set traps. Lots of traps. To be honest, I never really mapped them out. Going through the course is like second nature to me, and I don't think I could really explain it to anyone. So, I'll be escorting ONE of you through the maze at a time...or at least, to certain checkpoints. We'll see where things go from there. I'm sorry for this inconvenience, but I'm currently drawing up plans that will circumvent our problem. They involve a more advanced for of the Telec spell you just experienced. In about 3 months or so, we should have our new means of getting around Asumpcion. Trust me, it'll seem like a very short span of time to all of you...

Okay, I don't think we have much time, so if there are no questions, I'd like to see our first volunteer. Hands up nice and high, everybody!"

"Hey, hey! I'm ready Uncle D!" Gareth spoke up, his words slightly muffled by the piece of jerky in the corner of his mouth. He shifted his weight back and forth from one foot to the other, bouncing on his toes and waving his hand over his head. "Come on, let's go-go-go!"

"I'll go"

Treasure (ooh, shinies!) was a big drive, naturally - but curiousity was another. She was, to tell the truth, the sort of person who couldn't keep the cat in the bag. In fact, if you asked the cat about the bag, the cat would be all 'the bag? God, that was so last century'.

Echo stood a little to the side, breathing... not heavily, per se, but more intently than she normally did. The run had been refreshing to be sure, especially with all the water on the floor, but it had left her just a little winded at the end.

Not that she missed Doyle's words. Not by a long shot. What he said fascinated her. Echo peered forward into the darnkess, cat-like curiosity written all over her face. There were traps in there... "Can I go next?" she asked quietly. Someone else had already asked to go first, or Echo would have claimed that spot for herself.
