Liro continued to sift through books, looking for the story, the trinket he would bring with him, picking up his pace as the time limit was announced. A little longer, and perhaps he would have something...

[Hehe.]

There was no poker nearby the fireplace, or any tools of the sort, even though an empty rack for such devices stood only feet from the endangered tool. As he searched, Doyle was heard struggling to deal with Echo's utter lack of patience.

Doyle whipped around, clearly tired out by the girl's cheer and enthusiasm.

"No," he retorted before anyone else could. "It's not that simple, really...and...and it's not the point of our meeting. Ugh, fine...let's call it a sidequest, but it's nothing more, I promise you...ugh...HURRY UP, EVERYONE! Hurry up or we'll be late...oh dear..."

((Liro))

Sadly, no books really stood out to him or bore that legendary connotation yet...

((Liro))

The titles were meaningless. What really held weight was what lie in their previous spaces - numbers.

Well, okay, numbers weren't all that exciting, but hey - it sure beat the hell out of the books they were hidden by.

The books were also all on the same height line, which meant that the order that the numbers could be read was probably the order that was originally intended. Either that or its inverse...

The numbers were 3, 7, 9, 9, and they were carved very neatly, which meant that whoever made them must use them a l-

"H-HEY! HEY!!! GETAWAYFROMTHERE!!"

A forceful arm hastily tugged the man from the shelf's vicinity. It was Doyle, and he quickly snatched up the books and shoved them back in each others' places, out of order. He was all worked up and very upset about something, but he didn't even explain himself or his outburst. He simply let go of Liro, pointed at the stairwell leading downstairs, and shouted to everyone present,

"Alright! It's time for the main event! Let's go!!"

The end of his barking did seem a little more pleasant than his previous temperament, and it suggested that he was probably more nervous than actually mad at anyone.

In any case, it was probably best to follow his orders...for the time being.
