Elloth Too true too true I'd hate to see an atheist and a christan fanitic going out. sweatdrop Heh...It would probably depend on whether it was a fanatic atheist and a fanatic christian...That probably wouldn't work. I have a friend who is interested in a guy she just found out is Wiccan, and because she's very Christian, she's rethinking pursuing a relationship with him...I can't imagine she'd even consider someone who was an atheist.

hm... gess so. I mean I think it depeneds on how talerant they are of the others religon. Yeah, but I don't think it's just tolerance. You also have to be willing to say "His/Her religion is his/her choice, and I'm going to respect that and if he/she is interested in converting, I'll be supportive. If he/she isn't, I will be supportive." I've had friends who were tolerant, but they either tried to convert me, or they thought I was Wiccan just because my boyfriend was, and just a friendship with that person didn't last very long. There was also a guy I met once who was hitting on me, trying to convert me and calling Wicca lame and Mormonism a cult all within like 5 minutes...So you know, tolerance is part of it, but I think it's really respect for free will that's a big component in any relationship. (Okay, I'm done ranting for now...)

It would be nice to be with someone who shares my religious beliefs but I'm not all " Oh No! You're (insert religion here) and then run away. As long as they're tolerant of my religion is all I really care about. biggrin

Darth Shiny says: I may be complicating it. >.< I tend to over-think things. In my mind, tolerance is just saying "Yeah, that's your choice." It's like....I can tolerate hot weather, but that doesn't mean I'm really okay with it. I think in any relationship, friendship or otherwise, the tolerance really has to go beyond that. It has to be full acceptance--"I love you even though I don't agree with your beliefs, and I fully respect your choices." Duct tape is like the Force.

I just got in the habbit when I'd explane things and people would stop lisoning half way though. sweatdrop

i would definately love to date someone who is the same religion as me but i'll date someone of any religion as long as they're tolerant of mine. i think it might affect my sexual preference because i'm more open-minded about exploring my sexuality.

Darth Shiny says: @Elloth: Oh, I definitely get self-conscious. It's just that I have to get my words out there, so I just keep talking. xd
@WitchyBoy: Congrats! I'm very happy for you. ^.^ You took my breath away.
