Sario lifted up her shoulders, moving her arms to hug herself. "They're the only options I have left..." she whispered, before meeting Xarik'n's eyes.
"One of them is needing your help to reach Mordor, and the other one is a possibility...That maybe, once this is all over...Would you take me home? To Emyn Uial?"

Xarik'n raised an eyebrow. "What you're asking is quite serious, and reckless, kiddo. Maia or not, you won't be able to take Melkor on alone. I'm thinking that whatever it is that has caused you to be upset prompted you to make this decision... Did you ever notice you try to go and do some huge and life-threatening thing everytime something really, really bad happens, little one? There have been too many lives lost on the field of battle, and yours is the last one I would like to see amongst them." He leaned forward, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Don't run away from your problems, or go looking for death so young, kiddo." His eyes were lit with true caring and friendship....which could've been considered kinda strange coming from him. "You still have other options. Go and solve this. If we are to beat Melkor, we first need a plan, and we would need a larger party than just you and me. While you and I might be able to take Melkor out.... There is a good chance that even I will fail."
He had never been so serious with the woman, or anyone for that matter. No teasing, no joking, no secrets; this was a rare moment indeed. "If you want, yes, I will take you to Emyn Uial... If I were to take you to Mordor, your death would be on my hands. I couldn't stand to live knowing that the woman my younger self always saw as a big sister was killed because I allowed her to follow through on this. C'mon kiddo. Calm yourself down."
He lowered himself to the ground, standing up in front of Sario, towering well over her, hands on her shoulders. "Being a Maia carries a lot of responsibility, and it also means using your best judgement. Do not let personal matters come between you and that judgement, Little One. Did that convince you any?"

Sario's features softened as Xarik'n spoke to her, his words convincing and caring, even when he knew not what troubling the woman. Halfway tears welled up in her eyes, which darted around his face. When he landed in front of her, she quickly hugged the man in a tight embrace, fighting so hard not to lose control again.
She couldn't tell anyone else, but how would she let him take her alone?
"You don't even have to take me there all the way," she answered, pulling away. "Maybe halfway, just as long as I get a head start and stop Melkor from harming everyone else. If people are destined to die, then I deserve it...All of it," at this a tear slid down her cheek, another one following soon after. "If I am a big sister, then I want to protect my little brother. You don't have to be there with me, and I can do it on my own...When I am without aid, I have less weaknesses."
She held up her hands, which were shaking a little. "But please...If anything, would you take a bribe? I need to go alone, cause taking anyone else with me...Will hold me back, will kill them..."

Xarik'n chuckled, shaking his head at her. "You're just as sweet as I remember.... If you want to protect those you love, then your best bet is to stay alive. You have something very important to do soon, kiddo..." He held her tightly, feeling like the elder brother now. "Aii, if people are destined to die, then it is their time. If you go and throw your life away, there is no chance for their fates to change. You know what will happen to them, Sario; they do not. If you are around to warn them, to heal them, then things can change. Hell, looking at it, the future isn't even here yet; things are always fluid. Why do you think I came back here?? I want to make some changes, because I don't like how the future turned out. This is one of those things. As much as I'd be tempted to take your bribe, for your safety, I must deny it..."
It was clear that he had a difficult time saying that last line. "Besides, you shouldn't worry about protecting Little Me. He is very capable of taking care of himself, he just has to be in the right situation." He winked. "When you are alone, you have less strengths as well. Think about it. When fighting an army, would it be more wise to attack with one knight, or a thousand archers? There is power in numbers, my little one. Use your best judgement, unclouded by your emotions. There is nothing wrong with needing people. Even I do sometimes..."
He hated admitting this.
"....Somehow. Even now, you know, I have feelings for Legolia..." He was a bit uncomfortable discussing it, but he trusted her. "But last I checked, she was going after this other guy.... I don't even think she remembers me, or knows I'm here. If I were to make all of my decisions based off of the pain of how things are turning out, I wouldn't be here right now. Do you understand, kiddo?????"

Sario wiped her face, letting out a little sigh.
"I won't be needed here in Eden Cuil but who's to say I'm going to my death, Xarik'n?" she gave a very faint smile, so faint that it disappeared a second after she let it grace her features. "Even I have more faith than that. But as a Maia, it is my duty to protect those of Middle-earth. I try so hard to keep promises to keep people alive and well...yet in the end I fail at it."
She looked at him, playing with the ends of her sleeves. "And if you came back from the past, then you probably know what might be causing me to run? If not then all I can say is that I made a mistake...That I'm willing to pay for, for all eternity...In life or death. And to take him...Them with me will keep me occupied with my personal problems. I am not running, but merely setting them aside to deal with later. There is a greater threat at hand and I..." she paused, suddenly catching herself as a chill ran up the woman's spine.

Xarik'n's eyes had also widened, and the monster was dead silent.
"It seems like Mordor has come to you, kiddo..." he whispered, shocked. "Sallia, Legolas. They're in trouble!!! C'mon!!!"

Her heart suddenly beating wildly, Sario frowned as she grabbed Xarik'n's hand. "Take me to them! NOW!"

Xarik'n grabbed Sario's hand, and teleported to Sallia's room. What he found there, however, was not as he expected.
