It's starting to sink in that my little Axel is really gone, especially since little Roxas is scared of me and hates me. Before, I could go to their cage and Roxas would run from me and avoid me, but Axel would come right up and be sweet and let me pet him and hold him. He just got sick so fast and went before it could really sink it. I was a bit detatched at first because he was just a small, $10 rat, but he was my little guy and I knew he loved me. Now he's gone, and all I have left is this angry little piss-ant that runs from someone clearing their throat.

Doesn't help that apparently even if I had taken Axel to the vet, he probably still would have died, and I would have been able to actually take him this time

Roxas doesnt hate you. And if you want him to stop being afraid of you, don't scare him, but take it in small steps. I suggest offering bits of food from your hand. Such as cooked peas and variety of vegetables along with rice, pasta and even bits of meat. You just have to remember to not get frustrated, it may take time. Even 5 minutes out of your day to try this would help. So what you do is just stick your hand in and offer the food. When he comes up, don't say anything for try to pet him. Do this repeatedly for several days on end, when he comes up readily and stays at your hand to eat or nearby, then speak softly so that he doesn;t get scared of your voice. Once desensitized to your voice, then can move to the next step.

Me too. I read them all. I don't reply to them all. Only when I feel that what I have to say is worth posting. I'm often late though...like the issue was a few pages ago and I don't know if it's worth my two cents to bring it back up.

I read pretty much every post in this thread, just a lot of times I either am not sure what to say to comfort people or feel that they may not like the advise I have to offer, so I keep my mouth shut.

It seems that you are at least starting to grow up, I am just sorry it came at the price at such hard life leassons. But at least it does appear you have an understanding of what you need to do to make your life better.

Keep yourself away from drugs and those that use them. In general seperate yourself from people that only want to party, have a good time and sleep with you without being in a relationship. Find a job even if it means you need to take the bus to get there and start saving money so you can eventually get yourself a car and afford to live away from your parents. In that you should always keep in mind that roommates make all the differance when it comes to affording a nice place.

Going further it is about time you started taking relationships more seriously and find someone that you care about that wants to be with you and only you and devote yourself to them and no other.

Sorry, but I'm not a big picture person. >>

Stupid s**t can be pretty damn annoying sometimes.
Albeit thats true, but you should still appreciate the small things. neutral

neutral Know what I hate? When people take things for granted.

Jesus, I know its hard to be thankful for everything and what not. But stop, and consider all the good things in your life and appreciate them! now look at all the bad things and think how they made you stronger. I'm so tired of people complaining about stupid s**t. neutral

You know, it's more than not being able to go out. It's mainly that I have no real friends. No one seems to be willing to make the effort to come and visit me, or listen to me, or even give me a hug when I need one. My parent's don't care, the only things they ever stop to say to me are "Hey can you do ____ for me?" or "No, you can't go out, you're friends are losers." And you know what, they are. All they care about are their drugs. Not anyone's feelings. Sure, I fell into that trap too. But I'm sick of it. Sick of mopping people up when they come down, and getting no thanks for it. Sick of cleaning up puke. Sick of having no one to cry on. It feels like the only people who want to be around me are the ones who have slept with me. And that's not a very good feeling. On top of that, my college is asking for 9 grande that I should've had on the 22nd, which of course there is no way in hell that's going to happen. And since I can't pay it, I can't live in the dorm, or take any classes. And my parents have already said they aren't paying for that. I feel helpless. Utterly ******** helpless. And worthless. And useless. And you know, sometimes I feel like life isn't really worth living. I know you're going to say there are always people who have it worse, but that isn't what this is about, social status or class; my life is in shambles right now. And I just want to find a place I can call home, for real. I don't even have my art anymore. My muse is gone. I'm barely hanging on by drawing other people's characters, and even that I have trouble focusing on. I only have $25 of christmas money that I happened to open early. I can't drive and I've already demonstrated that I'm crap at working. I want a boyfriend, so I can have someone to share everything with and love and talk to, but I don't want to be a burden on them because frankly, at this point I have nothing to give. Nothing to contribute. On top of that I've gained 20 pounds and more than half my clothes don't fit, but I don't have the money to get new ones. I don't know what I've been doing wrong, but damn, I've ******** up and I just don't know what to do about it.

And you might not have been referring to me, but I don't care. I had to get it out. And it's good to know that SOMEONE's reading my posts, even if it's only to get pissed off at me.

neutral First of all, I didn't target you. You know i'd rip you a new one all directly. You know, if your eighteen you have no reason to stay when they tell you to stay. Your not under they're law. Get new friends. Theres tens of millions of people on the planet, you think you can't find better friends? If you really think they're only in it for sleeping with you, walk away. You don't have to stay in contact with them. You want money? Get a loan. There are a million loan companies that will give you a student loan. At least one will give it to you.People do have it worse then you. People are dieing slowly when all they were doing was trying to do some good for humanity. If thats not fair I don't know what is. LIFE isn't fair. You know, if life isn't worth living, fix it. Don't just sit on your a** and wait for the answer to fall into your lap, you've got to work for sucsess.Don't have your art? Your art is always there. You don't need a muse to get threw a rough period. Make yourself draw. You'll get over it. Crap at working? Find a new job. How many jobs are there in the world? You can't just live off of somone else. It seems like you want somone to complain to and snuggle with. You've got all of them right here.Take each problem by itself and figure out a way to fix it. Theres lots of people here who have solutions. As for money, well hay, guess what? Gotta work for it. neutral

Well if your feeling attention whorish, this is the thread to do it in. neutral

I'd get rid of the rat, and get some rats from a breeder. Feeders are just that, feeders, and good luck finding a nice feeder. They're pricer, but, they're stronger, smarter, nicer, aswell as live longer. They also tend not to get sick, either. I'm sorry for your loss, though.

Well, I got a venus flytrap a week ago, and called it a She. she was sort of weak looking, but I liked her and I was sure she would survive. I opened her case today, and she's disinigrated in every mouth I fed her in. Ugh.

My leopard gecko i'm going to have him put down or give him to a rescue, I really can't afford the bill of trying to save an animal that I honestly don't feel wants to live anymore.

Robin had a hysterectimy(sp?) on wedsday, and got sick after. She had a fever of 105.6 and was pretty delerious. She might die, still, from the infection.

Ken is still in the hospital. Will be til after christmas.

All of my clothes don't fit me, so i've got to go to HT tomarrow and get somthing new so my boobs stop hanging out of my shirt.

Goliath hasn't been out since the storm on friday of last week. I just am so terribly busy! Sigh. I'm trying, though, really! I'm just so busy.

I'm tired but scared to sleep, even in my clothes with this peep around. It worries me.

My knees are acting up,and it makes me feel sick.

I'm behind on art,and its not getting any better.

Beeper are a bad rat two weeks ago,and i'm watching to make sure he dosen't die or anything, but so far so good.

EDIT: OH goody. feel like im coming down with the flu. =_=

Now for the good news... I went and grabed Ashleigh and Brittney and gave them they're Christmas presents- Ashleigh gave us a card and some candy, and we got her a starbucks card. Brittany couldnt get us a present, and we gave her the corn snake, Candy. It was really cool, because we were like "Oh,Brittany! we got the most awesome thing! we just HAD to show you!" and so we did, and she about cried, and hugged mom and me and was like "You got me my snaaaake!" she squeeled. It was good and fun. Ashleigh, i'm looking for a green tree frog, hers got eaten.

We had bubble tea and stayed at this little teeny-bopper place, and introduced bubble tea to Brittany who liked it alot, but was more interested in our snake. The people at the bubble tea place held her and were all freaked out, and we told them we'd bring beeper in later. <3

We're looking to get a baby Possum. <3

I think that.. I got the best compliment from somone in another forum.

Margay

Consider all that's happening to you right now, you've been keeping a level head and have kept your wits about you.I'm both awed and enviouse of this skill. While others might faulter, you seem to take your problems in your stride.
I hope to live up to this one day.

I agree with what that person said NG. You seem to have so much going on in your life all the time, and many people would be a complete, hopeless mess. You are strong to handle things the way you do.

..as for the peeping tom...isn't there anything to cover the window with...or, um...buy a bb gun and shoot him in da eye? But seriously, have you told anyone there about it? Maybe even the police can just send an officer there to wait and watch for the guy to watch you...and then arrest his perverted arse. If I were there I'd be more than happy to kick his a** for you. 3nodding

I'll help you! Grabs a spare sodering iron. >.<

Sorry your ferret got sold, I know I've had that happen to me a couple times. See a pet for sale and fall in love with it. Then go home and have a long debate with yourself over possibly buying it. After much tussling with the idea decided yes indeed you want to buy it, only to run back to the store to find it gone. T__T

Fog- I would have ordered eggcasses but they can take a month to hatch, and vacation would be over by then. I need to get the mantis old enough to eat crickets by the time I go back to college. It is also winter out and I wouldn't want to release all the extra babies out in the colder tempetures.

Affy- I'm really sorry Axel died, though I guess I'm just surprised you didn't take him to the vet as soon as you noticed he was starting to act ill which seems to be a few days or so before he died. Not saying that they would have been able to save him, but if nothing more, they might have been able to make his last few days more comfortable.

As for Roxas, I would follow either NG's or Rainy's advice. Either take the time and really try to tame him, or see if you can't find him a place in a shelter or someone else who is willing to work with him, and try going for some rats from a good breeder. Like NG said, the cost is going to be a bit more, but if you truely want a pet who is going to be healthy, happy, and well adjusted, it is more than worth the extra price.

Neko- I read everyone's posts, and try to respond as much as possible, but as Diana stated, sometimes I just don't feel I have anything valuable to add. Like now, I think Diana and NG pretty much covered what you need to do to start trying to improve your life.

I have to admit, I feel guilty reading about some people's parents, because mine are just so awsome. There was never a question about them paying for my college education as long as I was going to put in the work to get A's and B's. It's not like we are loaded either, because we live quite modestly, they have just gone ahead and put aside college money for me a little at a time since I was just a baby. I don't mean to sound like I'm bragging or something, but what NG said about remembering to be thankful for the things you have just got me thinking. I really don't know how I would make it without their love and support.

Just the other day, after the mantis fiasco, my dad managed to dig around and by a miricle find a petstore down here that carries mantises sometimes. They don't have any in right now, but the store owner said he could easily order us some and get them in in two to three days. Thus after Christmas we are going to drive over to it and talk to them and see about ordering one. heart

O.O and before I forget, Happy Christmas Eve everyone!

Long story short, my family is going to be spending Christmas Eve over at my grandma's and appears that I wont be joining them. Why you might ask? Because I have work all afternoon. xp I'll be the one opening the store and shall be the actint manager. We probably wont be open much later than 4 but my family plans on leaving around 3. My only chance to join them is if my boss lets us close even earlier than that, which he will only do if we business is so slow there isn't any point to remaining open. On that chance my family will wait for me so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

On a lighter note, last night after work we had a nice little pot-luck dinner and gift exchange at work for all the employees. Food was fairly decent and I walked away with a neat little gift. It is one of those 20Q devices, quite fun to play with.

Well I have some good news and bad news.

Over the past week, my mom and I have been making truffles and now we are entirely finished. I think we have about 150 truffles of assorted kinds and now we're packaging them up and sending them to neighbors and friends. We're also going to the fabric store to get Minkee fabric to make dog beds from for our dogs and others and I will probably get a pattern in order to make dog coats.

Bad news is that Freddy, one of our ancient cats is on his last leg. He's been bad for a long time, but yesterday, I knew the difference right away. He usually comes for dinner and we have cat crates outside for the two outdoors cats to sleep in. But I put the food out and he didn't come out. I lifted the towel that was covering the crate and looked at him. he was all curled up at the back of the crate so I called to him but he wouldn't stir. I finally dragged him out and his whole body was cold to the bone and he was breathing a little wheezy. When he was petted, he didn't bother opening his eyes, but just hung in my arms. Since he isn't really our cat, we don't have the choice to put him down and we already talked to our neighbor that takes care of the vet bills and she said that she wouldn't put him down. So I'll just make sure he's warm and comfortable and eating until he goes.

Edit: I also have been ahving migraines. They start when I wake up and get worse throughout the day. I took excedrin the first day but it just seemed to get magnified when I took it

Aww.....*hugs* I hate it when that happens with pets sweatdrop

About the migraines...common occurance for me, but excedrin helps mine....also caffeine in the form of coffee or tablets works too if they aren't particularly horrific.

I'll be sending my good thoughts your, and your pets, way this Christmas

I am officially pissed off. My bra broke last night. Freaking strap snapped. And my grandma won't let me have the new one until tomorrow during Christmas unwrapping. We unwrap a present tonight, but they won't tell me which box has my new bra in it, so I have to guess and hope I'm right. It's not like I'm walking around without one. I'm wearing a ******** push up bra. It's all lacey and uncomfortable. I only wore it for Halloween.. TWO YEARS AGO! It's too small and it hurts and I'm throwing a ******** fit because of it and my grandma just stares at me. I showed it to her and she's all, "Oh well I'd never wear that, it's so uncomfortable."

WELL NO DUH!
