As Aberrant after Aberrant charged and fired and divebombed Tithe, we swatted them away and defended himself with ease.
Given that Tithe had several pairs of ears on his head and other areas, he easily overheard the conversation between the two.
"How did...of course. No, you shall not remove the detonator. I regret the loss of life, but evil has forced my hand! Each of these people have told me that they would sacrifice all for the cause, to save the world!"
"I will not betray the one who restored my life." Felicia and a hundred others said this in perfect unison.
For a moment, Tithe stopped. His expression betrayed surprise.

Raleigh rebounded off of the walls towards Tithe's head. "I'm not going to let you kill all these people, Tithe. I don't care if you're using them to attack Lty'yr. We're going after him too, but without killing a lot of people. So just give it up."

"They told me...they volunteered. I did not know that...they didn't have free will. I never meant..."
He bowed his head reverently, exposing the implant scar, as he began whispering. "Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned..."

Raleigh landed on Tithe's back and gently slit open the scar. Then he displaced, but didn't remove the chip from the radio, so it believed it had been disconnected. "Done."

Tithe finished his prayer as the lights on every vest bomb went out.
He looked up at the assembled, tears in his eyes. "Please forgive me. I know how to restore them. They will not remain human, but they will be Aberrants with sentience, like all of you."
He bowed his head. "You must destroy me utterly. Rip me limb from limb, until nothing remains."

"Thanks." Raleigh leapt off of Tithe's back and faced him. "My son," He said in his most portentous voice. "Do you have sins you wish to confess?"

Tithe spoke to Raleigh in a hushed tone of the sins he'd committed, known and unknowingly, and signed himself at the end as he waited for Raleigh's blessing, and then his end.

Raleigh raised his hands and, closing his eyes and praying for Tithe more than he had ever prayed for anyone, "I bless you Tithe, and forgive your sins. Please, join us in our fight against Lty'tyr. Make a difference. Don't die."
