From the Queen of Spiffiness' Journal:
Quote:
I look at my friends and it's like their puzzle is done. They've found somebody who held their missing piece. I'm not saying it's like "finding your soulmate", but merely, if the wording fits, finding the piece that just fits into place. They know who they want to marry, what they want to do job wise. But then what happens when the piece that looked like it fit, really doesn't? It was like one of those crazy looking pieces that looks like it'll fit, but doesn't really and you have to pound it into place. Then the puzzle's not really done. There's 1 little gap missing before it's done. That one little piece in the corner. (Little b*****d! )

It is a good analogy. 3nodding

I used to look at things like this too. Maybe I still entertain the thought from time to time. That this is what life is like. That or a bunch of s**t with a handfull of happy moments you better appreciate. Or mostly toil, with well needed breaks of contentment and joy. Anyway though my thought about the puzzle. surprised

Sure maybe life is made up of puzzle pieces that interconnect and snap into place and thus fulfill the chain of an individuals exsistence. However think about it like this. Pieces that are put into place never change. Even if circumstances change, in the big picture that piece still holds part of the puzzle together. It's not that it does'nt fit anymore, it's just that it no longer bears the same importance if a more pleasing, satisfying, and fulfilling piece is put in later. In other words, lets say you get married, -click- piece in. Then divorce, the piece is obviously no longer satisfying, but guess what, you make some new friends. -click- New piece, suddenly the divorce piece starts mattering less. -click- New relationship then marriage, now who gives a s**t except to look back at the piece and reflect a little about the first marriage. So on and so on, till we get to the crux of the matter.

That final piece is reserved for one thing sweetheart. When we die. Now I'm not saying it's belief specefic. I just mean the only way to complete said puzzle of life is for it to end. To kick the ole bucket. Say the hard goodbye. Then -click- puzzle finished. We go on to whatever-insert belief here-.

Now maybe it is such that the main pieces are the edge and thickness outside the center of the puzzle. So that they represent the cycle of life and death. Your corner piece may not fit because it is'nt time, and even if it's just the wrong piece that still means it's not time. So maybe you could say that if a hang up happens over something shitty in the meat of the puzzle. -click, divorce-. Then you leave that part of the puzzle alone, for fear or hurt or whatever, then a big gap could possible be there. A sort of symbol of not letting go or dealing with that shitty piece.

Either way, if you figure out how to cope, that one bad piece may be a bad memory, but looking at the whole puzzle, it will be like damn thats amazing. Maybe it will look different ways for different people some shaded a bit darker some lighter, but still every puzzle probally has a -WOW- quality.

All in all though maybe the pieces missing don't matter much either in the end. If say the last corner piece is in and some in the middle never got resolved maybe considering the size of the puzzle it can still be said...damn what a job. Then you move into the after life and realize the puzzle did'nt need to be finished to be beautiful, or your puzzle completes itself, when you no longer need it....

My main point though is still. No matter where it is in the puzzle. In my opinion the last piece is the proverbial hand of death sweeping over the soul The death rattle, the final equation, the last denominator, ~Finis~. whee
