"Are you kidding me? I grew up with Idalla around! God... would you believe that one night when she was REALLY drunk, she tried to.... actually nevermind. Lets drop it. I didnt say anything." Calcryx's eyes darted back and forth suspiciously for a second as he looked nervous, then quickly changed the subject. "I hear she did one over on Eclipse too though."

Nailah laughed and pet Rasui. "Yes it was rather hilarious. I helped her though. We played with Clippy who was called all manner of fun names. It was a lot of fun." She poured herself another glass of wine. "I'm sorry would you like something? I mean I'm not sure what dragons eat but..." she trailed off. She could imagine what growing up with Idalla was like. But Niah liked both of them. A lot. She found herself at ease in their presence and she liked the feeling.

"We eat anything. Its pretty simple." He said while nodidng at strange pride in his iron stomach. "And I do mean anything. But thats another story." Hopping back into his chair, there was another flash, and he sitting upright in human shape again. "I take it this place is always fun from what Ive seen. Ive had this buzz going since I got here. Lots of power floating about."
PostPosted: Tue Jan 18, 2005 8:29 pm

"Yes there is a lot of power around here. A lot of stranger beings as well. It's different but it's home." Niah said nodding. She picked up her dishes and placed them in the sink. "Well Calcryx I'm sorry to rush out on you but I have a lot of work to do and I really need to get it done. It was very nice to meet you though adn I look forward to more conversations much like this." That said Niah picked up her cat and walked out of the kitchen. She hurried to the library and once again began to try and figure out all her different spells.

((*sigh* stupid tests...but i too must go...night...))

Why must everything I do result with evil?

Nelphean glanced at his mighty new blade, and wondered what ever brough this power to him...

One hundred years before, in a land far from Earth, an elf draws a rapier from a shief, and thrusts its blade into the body of a werewolf. The creature howled with pain, and reared on the child. The child fell into a wall, and the monster punched him through it with a deadly clawed fist.

The child awoke, and saw the carnage that the creature had sawn upon his kindred. The elf felt his heart crushed, as all those he truly loved lay waylaid upon the cold stone foundations...

"My heart e'er yearns that which I ne'er keep" woed the elf, drawn deep within his dwindled soul. The forlorn saddness crippled the elf's mind, his heart was cold as ice, and he felt the burning of the blade that rested against his back.

His hands grew sudenly old to Nelphean's eyes, covered with blood that was cold and ancient, as old as the elf could ever remember. The sword pushed him forward, Nelphean slowly followed the pull.

The child cried over the lost, his closest of friends, and found his feet wondering into the endless wastes, the land of the Great Undead.

In the vally of the fallen heroes, the child meet a tall elf, one with a wit sharpe as the blade he wore on his belt.

Nelphean opened his eyes, and heard the screams. Children were crying, and possibly dying. WIthout a second though, Nelphean was in a room, wooden with stone foundations. The children were huddled in the corner, cowering from an imposing shape, a large hair covered man, with ears that stood up on his head. Nelphean instantly fell upon the hairy man, to find the familiar fangs of a wolf and the claws born of the lychanthrope.

Caliburn came to Nelphean's hands, burning the elf with the furies of his sins, and severed the creature. The sword grew so bright in Nelphean's hands, the light seemed to blind him. The children saw nothing, it was as though an angel fell from the heavens and smote their oppressor.

Nelphean had vanished long before a child stired, they still awaited the killing fangs of the monster that stalked them. When they realized that the creature was dead, there hero was not to be seen.

The child elf stood beside the wisened elder, and followed his lead back into civilization, where the child proved his value... He had a silver tongue.

Clinging onto his face Nelphean droped to his knees, and tried in vain to cease the burning hie felt in his head... His eyes had abandoned him, and they refused to open, the light was too bright...

Nelphean returned to the manor, and slowly walked to his room, and wraped a white clothe over his eyes. Nelphean felt his soul sink into the recesses of his mind, and found a smell that he had long forgotten...

Daisies... The smell of Nelphean's mother.

Someone just passed through, Calcryx determined as if it was a great mystery solved. The evidence was more than clear, an open door, vague muddy footprints and the familiar scent of an elf. Yes, groundbreaking work hed done on this night. But one thing did stick out that only he (so he believed) would notice. The scent of one elf was acompanied by a burning, very faint and not like scorched flesh, but just singed and barely noticable to any who couldnt recognize fire's effects. From what Idalla had told him of a sword, he had to check, and headed up the hall to Azaireal's room, knocking on it carefully. "Hey elf, you asleep?"

((sorry, was tired))

The elf heard the voice of the sage, and stirred slightly, reaching within the remnents of his being to pull together a thought. "Hello."

Nelphean shook his head, and put a hand reflexisively to his face and felt the burning... His skin felt smoot and soft, as it always had...

"Damnable werewolves hunt children even on this plane." The elf said very callously. His voice was etched with great burdens.

"I sense that the evil in me rejects Caliburn." The burning never ceased, and Nelphean tightened his blindfold. "I am sorry, Calcryx, but my head swells... I need to rest for a while." Some cheer returned to his features, but the burden he felt remained just as heavy...

Daisies... Nelphean craved daisies...

Monolith tilled the earth, and planted the seeds his master requested. He watered them with care, and returned to his previous task.

"Damn!"
Vik kicked the door to his room in frustration, but it didn't budge. No matter how many times he tried, it just wouldn't open. He shook the handle furiously before giving up alltogether. "Well, at least they didn't give it away." he thought. He knew Aura would be very displeased if he kicked down one of her doors so he decided to go find some temporary residence until someone could unlock it. The library was out of the question; his neck was already sore from sleeping against an armrest. He had walked halfway down the hall when he noticed a faint humming coming from his pocket. He reached his hand in there and pulled out a small glowing orb, the spirits of the Sequence and the only thing that remained of his brother's beloved sword. He had almost forgotten about this, he had never took the time to examine it carefully. 13 different colored swirls danced around inside the orb, batheing Vik's hand in a multi-colored light. He could feel the presence of the spirits againts his palm. He was still confused about using it, but one thing he was sure about. It is too important of an item to lose.
"Let's see..." he thought, "I don't think I can summon it anymore, since it's no longer a blade. Carrying it around in my pocket probably isn't such a good idea. I might drop it."
He decided that the best thing to do was to hang it from his neck. But how? Vik rolled the ball around in his hand. He didn't see any clips or holes for strings. Drilling a hole was also a bad idea, since there was a risk of it damaging the spirits. The only option was to form a metal cage around it and suspend it from that. The materials to do this were pretty easy to find and he had some tools in his vault. This shouldn't be so hard.

Ten minutes later, he was seated in the library. He cleared off a spot on a desk and spread out his materials. Luckily, he still had his vault key and easily retrieved the tools in his vault. He then stole a few spoons from the kitchen and melted them down to form the glue. He then shaved off some bits of metal from a bar of iron he found lying around, each shaving being about 1/2 centimeter in diameter. "Ok." he said to himself, "Remember what Uncle Joel told you about forging." He wrapped some shavings around the crystal as tight as he could and started hammering them into place. Each swing made a loud clang that could be heard anywhere in the room and from the hall.

Dagan approaches the front of the mansion, sighing with relief. It had been a long while since he had started pursuing his potential, and now that he had it unlocked, he was ready to return to his family and enjoy their company. Donned in some light mage robes, Dagan opens the front door slowly. "Hallo? Anyboday here?" A cheerful smile on his face, Dagan took a step into the building, shutting the door behind him. "Helloooooooooooooooooo?"

Vik looked up from his work. "Just great," he thought, shoving the unfinished crystal into his pocket, "Yet another resident for Archaic Manor. Well, since no one else is around, I guess I should take up the role of tour guide."
He pushed back his chair and walked out of the library. As he entered the main hall, he expected to see just another rain-soaked individual. Except, a familiar face met him. "Dagan?" Vik walked in for a closer look. It was him. Ryo's son! "What's up man!" He said, punching him in the arm. "Haven't seen you around in a while. How you been?"

Dagan chuckles a bit as one of his many good friends at the mansion came to greet him. "I'm doing great! I went off for a few weeks and unlocked my potential and now I feel great! How are you doing?" Dagan smiled still, glad to talk to someone other than his instructor, Miles.

"Let's see. After getting kidnapped, pummeled, disected, and imprisoned, do you think I'm 'ok'. Actually, yeah, I am." he said, laughing a bit. "I just showed up here about a week ago. They found me collapsed on the front door. The funny thing is, I was lying there for a while, it's a wonder why they took so long. So where's your dad? Haven't seen him around either."

Dagan gives Vik a blank stare and an innocent blink. "I figured you'd know, or someone else here would....he knew I was coming back on my own. Perhaps he went training...." A simple shrug ditched his wonders about his father. "He'll be alright, he always comes back in one piece!" Dagan laughs a bit. "Glad to see you're doing okay. Wish I was around to help out." A small frown appears for just a moment, then he looks back up. "Want to see what my 'potential' was?" A wide grin spreads across his face, wondering how Vik would answer.

Niah blinked and looked around the library rubbing her eyes. She must have fallen asleep. Dammit. At this rate she was never going to get her work done. She sighed and opened the book back up. This was really getting on her nerves. She could remember most of the potions she had made over the years. Hell she had made a living off it for quite some time. Ah those days. The A.N. days I should call them. A time of healing but tears as well. She sighed and pulled herself from her memories. Memories that she didn't want to revisit. She turned back to the book in front of her and began to scribble furiously.

"Nope, didn't here a thing about him. Then again, I haven't seen anyone around for a while. But you're probably right. He can look after himself." Vik wondered what Dagan meant by 'potential'. He was pretty curious about how much his power had grown. And he was dying for a good fight.
"Actually, I think I'll do one better." he reached into his vest and withdrew four Kunai throwing knives, two in each hand. "One-on-one. Show me what you got."
