One brief conversation on the origin of magic left Calcryx wanting more, against his elven conversationalists exhaustion the previous day. It wasnt often that he got to talk to people in his realm of study, and he liked to show off. But as a dragon of what he considered unparelleled wisom, he let the poor man rest and put himself to a task more fitting him at the moment, draconic hunger and the hunt for Saradin created delicacies he'd heard about. Always prefering to eat with 'light' reading, he left the kitchen with four hovering plates heaped with anything he could muster behind him. Entereing the library, the plates set themselves down on an unnocupied counter top near Nailah and he approached bookshelf barely taking notice of her. "Oh... youre that empath. Nia... Nai.... Nii... Naa... " He said waving his hand for a little emphasis on how he floundered to remember.

Come little elf... Don't say a word... You know what you have heard...

Nelphean tilted his head, the sound of a familiar woman resonated in his head... a soft delicate tone echoing in his thoughts...
The sword is waiting for you.
Confused and bewildered, the elf strolled about the halls... Sleep... sleep... Nelphean did not have the vaguest idea of the last time he slept... Walking about the halls blindly, Nelphean strode from the manor, and into the walls, where he casually stepped through, though they were not even there. The elf walked slowly into the woods, and was no longer even awake. His mind drifted into dreams, and his body continued to follow his feet...
Child of the stars, come from afar, take the might blade, and be done with fear.
The many dangers of the forgot forest stalked the trees and and foliage, awaiting a moment to strike such a careless fay, and to devour its soul, and drink his blood... But none of these vicious preditors showed his claws, non seemed to be aware of the presence of the elf, who walked through the woods in a coma.
Soon, dear Nelphean, I shall help thee with thy trials and tribulations.
Nelphean walked into a grove, tiny in comparison to the great distance he walked, though he knew not how, as when Nelphean awoke from his ten minuite nap, he was standing near ruins of an ancient stone temple... Circular building with only the pillars and some of the cross beams remaining. Nelphean glanced about, and smelt the sea air...

"How in the nine-hells did I?" Nelphean said quickly as his senses returned. He did not enjoy being the pawn of greater beings.

Idalla had only a mild hangover which by her standards meant she was still breathing. For some reason though she felt some fresh air would do her better than crawling into her bed, and she looked to do some sunbathing out on the rooftop. Big mistake. When one is in a state of mind that you think your mind is made of half eaten Jello then one forgets how bright the sun is. Whimpering pitifully to herself, she spanned out her great wings from within the illusion she span around herself in a hope to blot out the accursed light as she lay stretched on a flat area of the balcony. It proved to be of little aid as the smallest glimmer that got around them burned her shut eyes like cruel embers.

"Damn it." She admitted solumnly at deciding shed made a mistake. Slithering up to a crouch before trying to stand, she spotted the elf shed met wandering toward the tree line. Making the snap judgement that it would be far more fun to spy on him than go to bed. Another error in judgement that she realized after she jumped over the wall of the building and drifted on her wings to the ground, but still slamming her head with a headache twice as bad as ever.

She quickly tucked her wings from sight again, despite being in only light sunbathing appropriate clothes and set off into the forest to follow Nelphean in what would no doubt be interesting.

Come to me elfling, come... My dreams are deeply enthralled by your potential...

The sound of the celestial voice hit Nelphan like a rock... "Since when did the good-guys ever find anything interesting about me?" He looked about very paranoidly, and felt for his mighty swords...

Which were hun by the chimeny with care...

"Crap..." Nelphean said.

The pool elf, come to the pool...
Nelphean looked at the ruins, and decided that he was thirsty. His mouth was dry and partched. Near the centre of the ruins, a small pool of very clean water sprung up from the earth...

"How coincidental, I am thirsty and there is a conviently located pool of water..." Nelphean decided he didn't have much to lose, Spend all eternity in hell robbing my son the pleasure of his vengence, or staying thirsty...

Nelphean walked to the pool and took a sip of the clean crispe, cool water. "Damn," Nelphean said, "Still alive..." He laughed.

No hangover could dull the keen senses of Idalla as she navigated the trees and noted how their path didnt seem to be natural, as if they were walking through a very roundabout portal. Until she found her way to the same temple where Nelphean stood, and ducked into the brush to evade eyesight. What was he doing out here? Surely it wasnt just for a sip of water.

Standing by the pool, Nelphean coughed twice. He watched the scenery, and noted nothing changed...

"Hello?" The elf waited a reply...

"I, the mighty and powerful Nelphean Nightblade, have come to this spot under the influence... of someone... Now, please, show yourself." Nelphean said with viggor. He stood still, and waited. The land grew suddenly quiet, and the water turned red, and where once water flowed up from the earth, a seemingly endless stream of blood poored out.

"Why does bad stuff always happen to me!" Nelphean said emphatically as he stepped away from the pool of blood. As the edge of the stream of blood neared Nelphean's feet, the colour returned to normal.

"Yay, prophocy..." Nelphean said, as though he had witnessed these visions and prophetic encounter regularly.

"Come now, good elf." A very feminine voice said. "This pool of blood..."

"Is the blood of all the people I have ever loved, and I have one hope in order to stop it." Nelphean interrupted.

"Yes." The voice said calmly, "I did send you this message twice before, but was interrupted by your enemies... but now that they are on different planes, you should be able to recieve the quest I wish to present to you."

Nelphean didn't blink. A voice, from a pool of ex-blood was talking to him, telling him that many of his childhood fantasies of talking to great beings of unfortold magnificent and benevolent power have and are coming true. Nelphean did the only sane thing he could think of, he laughed. "Ok."

A large pool of blood and what may have been a voice. And of course the words about blood of all hed loved. That would be bad considering how many hed fallen in 'love' with. "Wow." Idalla let slip rather loudly in her hungover state. Followed promptly by, "s**t!" and ducking into the growth with an unintendedly loud rattle of plants. In her head she repeated to herself, Cover blown, abort! Abort! But even worse, as she tried to retreat, she snagged her leg in the very plants she used to hide and flopped onto the dirt.

The girl's voice found Nel's ears... "Its just a nosy friend, no need to worry." He said, hoping that the voice wouldn't run. He waited for a reply, and turned his head to see where Idalla had run and triped... The staggering girl had far to many drinks. "I am quite sure she is harmless..." He turned his head to look back at the pool to see if there was a response, and to Nelphean's delight and fear, a beautiful fay stood in the middle of the pool!

"Oh, my, gods," Nelphean spat.

"Hurry and take this sword elf, and perhaps the blood shall never be spilt upon the soil, and the souls of those who have yet to be born, shall rise thanks to the actions you take...! But, be warned...! " The fay threw a sword wrapped in a white cloth to Nelphean, and dissapeared...

"Warned, warned!" Nelphean watched the fay sink into the pool, seemingly fusing with the water...

"Idalla!" Nelphean shouted.

Crawling to her feet and smearing off some of the dirt that caked to her body, Idalla peaked into the clearing like a child caught stealing cookies. "Hi." She near whispered, only her upper head visible. Stepping out fully, she waltzed into the clearing with false grace and dignity. "Nelphean, do you often wander into the dark woods alone to have swords thrown at you?"
PostPosted: Sun Jan 16, 2005 2:42 pm

"No," he said hotly, "But I am chased by a crazed wizard when I walk into the forest alone... My son." He cooled. "That was the first time that a celestial being had offered me hope, and that was the first time I was told that I could 'do good's will'..." Nelphean breathed deeply. The sword was in his hands, and he had yet to remove the cloth.

"How was your night of drinking?" Nelphean asked cheerfully, completely drowning his seething anger. "Nailah, and yourself?"

Taking up just a small handful of water from the pond, Idalla uses it to carefully wash a good bit of the mud and dirt stuck to her away, intentionally in as seductive a way as she could muster, which wasnt much right now. "Doing gods will is easier than falling in love, from what I've learned. Its the ones that try to prevent you that make it difficult."

"Last night? Not good... I handled my drinks like a first timer. I was out after only one strong bottle. A bit dissapointing really, and Ive got one hell of a hangover."
PostPosted: Sun Jan 16, 2005 3:01 pm

Nelphean smiled, "Good's will, not gods." He looked away from the bathing woman. He was not a peeping-tom. "A hangover from one bottle?" Nelphean laughed. "I drank every drop in the Winery ((bar)) in the nearest town before dawn, and left sobre... Someone forgot how to drink." Nelphean smirked. He looked at the sword wraped in cloth.

It was about half a metre long, and very light. The wriste guard was not very elaborate, and the pomel was round, but not a sphere. Nelphean held the blade with one hand, and easily two...

"Let me know when you are ready to return to the manor." He said calmly. "Sorry, I don't watch women bathe. Its un-dignified." He walked towards one of the pillars, and leaned against it.

Idalla's thought process was quite clogged up still, and thats why she let slip a little to much information. "God, good, they are both the same thing in this realm. At least for the one I've learned to follow. I suppose I've been to a lot of places with dark lords and worse, but here is different. Only a small scale of people have the slightest proof that their gods are real and have to believe on faith alone. Not like back in the old days, when everyone did stupid things 'in the name of god'. Blasphemers..."
PostPosted: Sun Jan 16, 2005 3:14 pm

Nelphean smiled. Idalla was wise, "You've been to places with dark lords?" Nelphean asked coyly, "As have I."

"My son has two types of magic: Arcana, and something else. Something else, he claims, comes from the master elf, what's his name... the one who had a Cresent moon for a symbol..." Nelphean scratched his head.

"I wonder what this sword does, or why it is important." Nelphean began to remove the cloth, but the moment that his hand touched the hilt, a fire burned his flesh, and he felt the agony of being consumed by flames. Nelphean droped the sword, and wrapped his hand with the cloth... "Damn... Should have thought of that..."

Gritting her teeth, Idalla prayed that she hadnt actualy blown her cover of normalcy already. But watching the fire she shook out of that concern easily. "Looks like it doesnt like you very much." She mocked, then groaned again. "I am not myself when Im hungover. Or rather, Im somewhat who I used to be." Checking the sword carefully, she was a little to wary af approaching to close, good lord only knows what defenses it had against her kind.

Making yet another rash decision, Idalla crossed her arms and waved her hand blasting away the remnants of the filth clinging to her. "Well, right now Im a bit to out of it to bother with the cover anymore. I'm clearly not human. In fact," she let her massive wings spread open and into sight again as she smiled and revealed her large incisors with a scary look. "I would be a demon."
