"A few things. But ever since I shocked myself my reception hasn't been so good. At least I think. I don't know I'm kinda confused by it all really." He shrugged and walked into the library and over to the desk that Niah was at.

Leaning crossed arms on the desk he gave her a lopsided grin. "And don't worry about it Niah I have to learn to adjust anyways." He paused. "And what exactly defines 'wrong' Niah. I mean your 'wrong' and my 'wrong' could be totally different."

She nodded. "You'll learn. Just remember that if you have any questions you can ask me anything at anytime. I'd rather you ask then just think it's normal. Because there are some things that you should never feel." She stood up and walked over to the book she had tossed. Picking it up she considered how much to reveal. He was an empath so she would need to be careful. "Wrong means things aren't working out for me. I can't think of half the spells I need to heal. And I can't help out in a fight. I'm not even able to be a standby healer anymore. I wish I could help. Maybe if I could fight I could channel anything I felt into kicking the guy's a**." She slapped her hand over her mouth. "I mean backside. Don't you go repeating Khenu. Aura will have my...head."

He snickered and then just laughed. "You grown ups are no fun at all sometimes." He closed his eyes for a time like he was thinking. In fact her was. The wheels in his head had got to moving. "So basically your magic and junk like that is messed up in battle."

Reaching back he pulled his 'rang from his belt and placed it on the desk for display. "Ever since my accident I haven't been able to control my electricity either. But I have this for battles and the like, and it helps with the empath sense too...really it does. When I feel something major coming on I go train. The focus helps ease the intensity. Don't know why but it does."

Niah thought for a moment. She remembered his burned cheeks and sighed. It seemed she wasn't the only one who was having control problems. Unfortunately it wasn't good for empaths to lose control. It was the first rule. Losing control ended horribly. Generally in death. She looked at him, "I thought focus might help but I have nothing to use. I have daggers but how much good are they in long-range combat? None." She moved back to the desk and tossed the book on top glaring when it fell back on the floor. "Shoot....oh well. I was thinking about learning to use sais but then I'd have to get Bastet or Aura to train me. I could do it though. I could have Alex or Saradin fight me and...." she trailed off thinking about it.

Again he thought. Alex...he wasn't familiar with the name. But apparently if Niah was okay with the guy then he didn't need to worry about him. Good.

He shrugged and then seemed to be studying Niah. "Daggers aren't god for focusing on. Basically you're just slashing. Something long rang is better. Hm...you look like a bow person. Yeah I think you could do well with one."

Niah blinked. "A what?" She thought for a minute. "A bow person...." She raised an eyebrow at him. She didn't wear bows...they were annoying. Always coming undone and then her hair was in her face? Now where was the point in that? If you put something in your hair to keep it up then why does it always fall back down? It was ridiculous. She reached up and tightened the bun she had put her hair in earlier. She would use elastic bands and clips. Thank you very much. They were practical. "Where did you get that from?"

He laughed as he felt the slight confusion and disapprovement from her. "No no no. Not that type of bow. Sorry, little kid terminology. I should have said an archer. You know, bow and arrow?" He laughed. Not often did he seem to have the upper hand when talking to adults and the like. "Bow person..." Again he laughed.
PostPosted: Sun Jan 16, 2005 12:21 pm

"Oh. That kind of bow." Well I've been out thought by a ten year old. She shook her head. "I could be an archer. I always did have good hand-eye coordination. But where in the world am I going to find a bow and arrows?" The idea had merit she had to give him that. "Have you seen one laying around here lately? I know I haven't. But then we don't have an archer yet. It would make me useful..."

"Haven't seen a single one. But it's not like it's hard to get one. I mean hel-...uh heck, I can make one. People think it's such a big deal. All you need to know is what materials you need and the like and how to work them all."

He took hold of his 'rang and put it back in his belt under his jacket. "Where I came from, we specialized in crafting long range weapons. People pay good money for a good product, that's what my dad used to tell me."

She gave him 'the look' at his almost use of language and said,"You better change that word little boy. Who taught you that one anyway?" She considered what he had said and began to close books. "Would you make me one? Please?" She walked over and ruffled his hair. "It doesn't have to be anything really fancy. Just a bow and some arrows. Then I can practice and be ready next time some son of a...mother comes to mess with us." She had to watch her language. Knowing Khenu as cute as he was he'd repeat it not even realizing how bad it was. Then Aura would kick her a**...again.

His first thought was to run her though the normal weapon questions. What size, shape, color, material, and all that mess. But he figured that he would just confuse her outright. "Sure, I'll make you one. Then I'll have something to do. Maybe we could even train together. I mean I know my long range weapons after all." He said it almost too proudly.

"I can fix you up a good one. Especially since I have free creative reign over it. You'll have a one of a kind I can guarantee that."
PostPosted: Sun Jan 16, 2005 12:34 pm

Niah smiled. "Thank you. I can hardly wait to see it." She looked at all the work she had to do then looked back at him. "Sure we can train together. That sounds like fun." She smiled again. He was so proud of himself. It was so cute really. She was glad he was proud of something. He was such a sweet little boy. "I'll tell you what. You go work on the bow and I'll finishg up here. Then we can train."

"Sure, I'll get right on it." HE pivoted on his boot heel then looked over his shoulder to Niah giving her a lopsided grin. "On to gather various things, play with sharp objects and fire all totally unsupervised by an adult." He said it on purpose trying to worry Niah a little as a joke. "And yeah, I'll train you. Be nice being the teacher and not the student for once." Giving her another grin he dashed from the room actually excited about the project. He could use something to do.

((Finally allowed back on...and I'm dragged off. I hate irony.))

Niah watched him go and considered what he had said. This could be a bad thing. He was only ten after all and he was playing with fire and sharp objects. "Don't blow up the manor!" she called after him. "Then Aura will really kick my a**..." she muttered under her breath. She sighed and turned back to all the books in front of her. "Burn salves....so many..."

The leaned against the tree, and felt the elfish call... He shook his head, and the singing vanished... "So, tree, do you want to become my tool of mass destruction?" Nelphean laughed, the tree could not refuse... yet.

He walked back into the manor, and wandered about for a few moments.
