There was a low growling from all around Olan. Then two hellhounds jumped out of the brush and snarled at Olan. They glared at him and looked like they were practically grinning. They circled around him, ready to pounce on him and kill the other.

Olan froze, trying not to look at the hounds. Memories of his death flashed before his eyes, and he dreaded a repeat of that. He scanned his surroundings for some kind of weapon, anything that could at least distract the hounds so he could make a run for it. There was a reasonably-sized stick nearby. That might be useful.
Timiki sensed that her companion was in trouble, and with hesitation she left the house to find Olan. She hoped she could find him and return soon, Vitae would not appreciate finding out that Olan died again.

Arrows were fired at the hellhounds. They howled and retreated. From the forest emerged a woman wearing a toga, "Are you safe?" She asked as she extended her hand to Olan, "Those damn hellhounds... They should not be in such a sacred place..."
A deer came to the woman and she stroked it. The deer was huge and had golden antlers with bronze hooves.
"At least you're safe my beloved." She continued to pet it and then looked at Olan, "You'd better get back..."

"Ah, y-yes. Thank you for saving me, by the way." Olan bowed gratefully, and then he remembered Vitae. "If you don't mind me asking, do you know anyone who can treat fevers?" It was perhaps safe to assume that his savior knew such a person, but he could never be too sure.

"No... Not that I can think of... I'm the Goddess of the Hunt, for herbal remedies try the God of Life or the Goddess of Nature." She pet her deer some more and then she disappeared into the skies, "Run home now before they come back!"

Olan would have told her that it was the God of Life himself who needed help, but she had left before he got the chance to. Without hesitation, he gathered up the herbs he had managed to pick and hurried home. He could only hope he had gotten what Vitae needed.
Timiki didn't hear any screams, so she could only assume that either Olan was dead or someone had managed to rescue him. The latter was confirmed when she saw him emerge from the darkness. She barked to alert him of her presence and proceeded to lead him back home.

The rag on Vitae's head was hot to the touch. He was sweating profusely and his body had started to turn red from the excess heat. He panted as his breathing was still irregular and he had started to have convulsions. Not only that, his chest was pounding erratically. He was a mess.

When Olan returned home, he immediately took the rag, trying to ignore the heat, and walked back to the lake to re-soak it and then put it back on Vitae's head. This was going nowhere fast. If he didn't do something soon, the god was going to die.
He knew he needed help from the Goddess of Nature. She would know what to do, and, if he remembered correctly, she was Vitae's mother. There was hardly any doubt she'll help him.

Gaia fell from the sky and landed outside of the house. When she came in she gasped, "Oh my Zeus!" She ran to her son and examined him, "Oh no... He's been attacked by the hell hounds." She placed her hand on top of his head and quickly pulled it away, "His forehead's so hot!" She shook her hand to alleviate some of the heat in her hand and started growing herbs in the house. She shoved some of the newly grown herbs into her son's mouth and panicked a little more as she shoved more herbs into his mouth.

"Um... Do you need any help, ma'am?" Olan asked, unsure if Gaia even knew he was there. All her attention was focused on Vitae, as expected of a worried mother. It was good to know the god was taken care of, but was that many herbs necessary?

"EAT THEM VITAE! EAT!!!" Gaia helped him chew the herbs by grabbing the jaw and moving it up and down, "EAT!" She held his nose and covered his mouth so he eventually swallowed the herbs. "Water!" She picked up Vitae and ran outside. She was about to throw him in the lake.

"Wait! Ms. Gaia!"] Olan ran after her and tried to stop her. "Are you sure throwing him in there will help?"

"You're right..." The goddess picked up her son and started running in the direction of a cliff that was directly over the ocean, "The ocean will cool him off!" She kept running and her breathing was heavy. Her hands were growing red from the god's body heat.

"That isn't what I meant!" Olan shouted as he ran after her once more. "What if he drowns?!"

"Uh... uh..." The goddess started to think again and panicked again, "What do I do!!!" She threw the god's limp body on the ground and held her head between her hot hands, "Oh...."
