THe more I think about it...and check Wiki, the more I realized that I might've just done that, without realizing it. Marid's seem to be the only one closely associated with an element since they tend to be drawn towards Seas and large expanses of water.
Okay, looks like she's going to have to go without a bra, curse that alp XP
...Aww I just realized that the Spaniard will probably be the age that the Chinaman was, and the Chinaman will probably be the age of the Mayan elder...meaning that Betel is currently in the middle of the five vampire members age wise. Yeah that works with what we wanted for the population thing. Wait, so the Chinaman would be born around...3rd or 2nd century B.C? Ehh, phooey.

Well...I guess, it'd be a hasty decision. In addition to sticking band-aides on her nipples...if she goes bra-less. I guess the more sensible thing, if she had time, would be just opening up her top and putting a band-aid over her bitten n****e. Which would be like as soon as she feels him biting down. Divines no, remember that age list I made back on page 44...wait lemme just fetch it. Azekal Noxcis Eldest: Mesopotamian; 5919 Egypt; 5171 China; 4213 Middle: Mayan; 2817 Betelgeuse: Byzantine; 1558 Ottoman; 812 Youngest: Aztec; 684 It's going to be revised and phooey Tao Xia won't have been a part of the somewhat possible Xia dynasty of Ancient china. He'd be more in line with the Zhou dyntasy. Unless of course you wan to include the possibility of Mongols spreading vampirism as well. The revised would look more like this: Azekal Noxcis Eldest: Mesopotamian; 5919 Egypt; 5171 Spaniard; 4215-3293 Middle: China; 2435-2235 Betelgeuse/Nasir: Byzantine; 1558 Ottoman; 812 Youngest: Aztec; 684 Mesopotamia and Egypt are the Ghuls while the rest are Vampires

You can get n****e tape these days.
I didn't until you showed me again.
That would mean vampires came from Mesopotamia rather than Europe, which I am very opposed to because it's stupid to think there were vampires in Mesopotamia. There was no such thing there. They had demons, gods, demigods, keepers of the underworld and an old man who found the secret to immortality. They were basically the predecessors of Christianity, which didn't have vampires in it. Have you heard of vampires in the Bible?
A better migratory pattern would be central Europe until the Macedonian Empire opened trade with other countries around Europe and parts of Asia. The Romans then took over and went north through the rest of Europe, which is where vampires originate. To say otherwise is to ignore human history in the human world.

I guess but a band-aid would definitely apply to this situation more than tape. -waves arms about- OMG yes I kno it contradicts what ancient mythology says and that it's a serious ******** thing for you to go against. The revised one has the two oldest members as Ghuls, you know the Djinn that are shapeshifting zombie things. What if they had something like a vampire, but they just didn't have a word/term/definition, and coupled them with demons? Seriously, is it hard to imagine that some cultures might throw things, vamps for example, into a catch-all term to since they might not have the words to describe them properly. What the hell would you call a vampire...if you didn't know the term and classification? Monster and demon are probably near the top. -pinches the bridge of my nose- What the hell is central Europe? France is on the west coast, unless your speaking about inner France. Italy could be in the center, and all the countries around it. Scandanavian countries are most likely northern europe so it goes against the central Europe thing... Edit:Is this what you mean by Central Europe and well

Either would work.
Then why are you continuing on a line of thought that is so obviously contradictory to history, especially when there are only 100ish left in the world after Hitler and his occult buddies near wiped them out?
A catch-all term would mean going back to our previous argument where we grouped practically every blood sucking race under "vampires". Demons are not vampires and vampires are not demons. Under the assumption that such things exist, the gods and mythological beings of Greece, Rome, Egypt and Mesopotamia had a strong involvement in human life. They practically dictated what humans did and did not do every single moment of their lives. It isn't like today's God where he remains in his realm and watching his pawns move around. Gods and other creatures got down and dirty with people. People talked to and knew the creatures that influenced their lives. They would know the difference between a demon and a vampire. Even if they didn't use the word "vampire" they would still have specific traits (eg, demons are associated with the underworld/hell, vampires remain only on the human earth).
Since we are using Spain, Rome and Greece as specific regions (all of which are at the southern end and have a different history to the rest of Europe), I am using Central Europe to mean the countries not based on Roman/Greek culture (or Russian, which is entirely different again).
Reply to edit: Pretty much.

...Wat? No the Ghuls that are the Mesopotamian and Egyptian Elder are not vampires, so what line are you mentioning. -pinches bridge again- I shouldn't've brought that age list up again since it' seems like I can't easily convey the fact that only the Spaniard, Chinaman, Betelgeuse, Ottoman, and Aztec elders are vampires. Five of the Seven elders of that Mythological Illuminati-like Court...secret-society thing.
The Spaniard's the oldest vampire cause she had to travel through Gaul during her lifetime, since she lived in the Basque region, and was attacked. I'm fine with what you said about the China receiving vampirism through Macedonian expansion. Betelgeuse and the Ottoman are kind of self-explanatory since it would've spread to there respective parts by the time they were born...and the Aztec, we sort of figured out how that came to be, when you offered the ultimatum that I was fine with.
Wait so about the central europe states...are you including all the ones that were list or just the top ones?

So the elders in the quote box aren't all vampires, they're Die Synode's elders? I thought you were talking about them being the court elders. *facepalm* My bad.
Wait, I thought the only vampire in Die Synode's court was Betel. Okay...
Who is in the vampiric court, who is an elder in the vampiric court, who is not a vampire and who is an elder in Die Synode? Can we please can Die Synode von Mitternacht "Synode", the Vampiric Court (or whatever we change it to) "Court" and the Unseelie Court "Unseelie". That way we won't confuse terms so often.
I'm including all, except Italy. Italy and Greece are culturally (thus historically) different from the rest of Europe. Plus I would have thought they'd be central Europe.
EDIT: BBL, I gotta do errands for my sis. *sigh*

God damn pastebin. I think my comp got something gimme a minute to scan and stuff. Also do you think we should name the Court? Something like Ordo Chronos or something. Greek would probably be a better example of it's ancient roots but latin is all I know...a very small grasp at that.

I would think they'd have a Teutonic name, since they're from around that area. It depends when and where the Court originated.
I just got back. Imma have a shower then possibly go for a walk. I'm currently playing Mum until Dad gets back (as well as uni, research and job hunting), at which point I'll be less Mumish.

Okay for all the questions you had before my comp need scanning, write this down so you can refer to it later. Here's the members race/species/wuhtever of Chronos Sanctos (my Latin declination is probably wrong}. Azekal Noxcis Mesopotamia: Ghūl. age; approximately around six millennia old, though no carbon testing has been done thoroughly. For the sake of numbers I went with 5919. Egypt: Ghūl. Age; Slightly younger than the Mesopotamian elder though in the span of millenniums that carries little weight. For the sake of numbers I went with 5171. Spain: Vampire. Age; Anywhere between 4215-3293. China: Vampire. Age; Anywhere between 2435-2235 Byzantine Empire; Vampire (this is Betelgeuse). Age; 1558, was born in the year 453 A.D. Ottoman Empire; Vampire. Age; 812, was born in the year 1199 A.D. Aztec Empire; Vampire. Age; 684, was born in the year 1327 A.D. Those seven creatures are the ruling ones that make the decisions. You were talking about having nine members and the last two being something like a stenographer for their meetings and a bodyguard or something. Think an accountant would make more sense than a bodyguard? Oh almost forgot that the utility members (stenographer and whatever the other one is) can also voice their input when the floor is up for discussion of any kind. Well then if you know some teutonic than by all means...and I don't think I know any old Deutsch...Celtic perhaps? Maybe Nordic could also work, but I can see the thing having several names. Kronos Sanctos was one I just threw together that Betelgeuse could possibly use since he probably knew Latin. Speaking of which it could probably also go as Chronos et Sanctos Yes, Betelgeuse is the only vampire in die Synode. It's not really a court either...I was going for more of a tribunal thing I guess since you brought up how the Sanctos could be handled. (Yes I'll refer to the Vampiric Court...secret society thing as the Chronos Sanctos...or just Sanctos since I probably have the word for time wrong.} The thing I just did for the ages also explains what's in Sanctos so we/you can identify what's what. As for Die Synode von Mitternacht/Midnight Council, it'd be something like this since we haven't figured out the details. Azekal Noxcis Utilitarian member; Betelgeuse. Species; Vampire. Isolationist member; Haven't figured out a name. Species; An elder Gnome. (Haven't figured out Aysel's political views}...member; Aysel. Species; A mid-millennium elf. I liked your idea about having the majority be the decision makers and the minority being...mostly utility members that I wanted to implement it in the Council/Synode...hence the tribunal thing. I imagine that they'd have a stenographer, and I can actually see them in need of a body compared to Sanctos. Edit: Hey do you think the egyptian ghul could be incorporated into that silly mummy's curse thing that happened when british tomb raiders...raided said tombs?

*blinks*
First time I've had to get on properly.
Why are there Ghuls in a VAMPIRE court? Ghuls aren't even blood-suckers, let alone vampires.
I meant nine in Die Synode. Chronos Sanctos (which totally needs renaming when I have time) isn't as important to the folkloric world. I do agree with stenographer and guard being allowed to speak up in open discussion.
I think you're getting the two ruling bodies mixed up. A vampire's court is more open than Die Synode. There are only 100 left so all would be welcome to attend. They wouldn't be as secretive among their members ad Die Synode.

-Looks at you with wide eyes...then sighs- The ghuls are specifically a reaction to the fact that the whole "Vampires possibly coming from the first civilization" is a big no no for you... Which I am totally okay with. Also the arabic ones can drink blood among other things (mostly eating the dead)...which isn't really a criteria for being a vampire I know, but it fits along nicely with the Sanctos and how I wanted them to be as old as civilization or at least the leaders.
...Which I am not getting mixed up with the Council/Synode. The Council/Synode was made rather recently in history, or at least I thought we established that or implied it. Like after the Reformation or something. The Sanctos' members have been around for ages, and when they did finally establish something similar to a court or council or governing body of some kind...It was way before the bloody Discovery. Also the Synode is having Five members.
The Sanctos, when I originally thought up the idea, was to be some shadow government that wanted the betterment of Folkloric and did it by operating in the shadows and influencing human government. So what if they believed that the five leaders were the best to lead, it didn't stop them from secretly influencing the altered folkloric history like the Illuminati or Free Masons if you wanna look for the whole NWO theory.
That kind of backfired with the Reformation, and holocaust. So Idk why you're thinking the Midnight Council is the one that's been around for millennia when it hasn't. Didn't we come to some sort of...agreement is like the closest word that fits what I'm thinking, regarding how they came about. As in after the Great Discovery and the creatures being forced into hiding, and having to learn to rely on each other and other holistic values since a fair number of the folkloric creatures seemed to be rather...isolationist.
...Edit: You wanna just have three bodies? Sanctos would be mostly mine or something where I have the most involvement. The Council/Synode would be made of comprises from us or something where we both have involvement, and the Unseelie could be yours...since I don't think I've had any involvement with that.
Also, now that I kind of...given some thought about what the Sanctos' purpose is, or stated something if you prefer, it wouldn't solely be made up of vampires but I can see Vampires being the majority because of their lifespans.

Ghuls are not vampires. They would not be a part of the vampire council. Ghuls eat the dead. They go into graves and eat the dead. Vampires drink the blood of the living. Why not throw elves into the f*cking vampire court too? Ghuls do not belong in vampire society so would not be a part of their court.
Yes, Die Synode came after the Reformation. Yes, the Sanctos could have been around for centuries longer. That does not mean the two overlap. Betel is the only member in both councils. Originally it was because he was the oldest living vampire but you seem obsessed with having beings from Mesopotamia and etc in amongst the vampires. If aswang, chupacapra, nosferatu, alps and other blood sucking creatures are not considered part of the vampire community, why would something that predates vampires, originates in a different part of the world and is completely different than any depiction of a vampire be part of their community? It's ludicrous.
Reply to edit: I doubt there would only be three groups in the entire folkloric world. I'm sure elves, gnomes and all the other major groups have their own organised society, each with different amounts of control within the community. There isn't just one governing body in the human world, or even in one country. There are hundreds of political parties, churches and interest groups throughout every state and country of the world.
So the vampiric court is no longer a vampiric court? *groans* Between you and looking after my siblings, I think I'm going to go insane.
What you are thinking of is called a mission statement.
The purpose of the vampiric court is that vampires have a social nature. They tend to group together and form a higher council to rule over the rest of the vampires and control who drinks what, when and where, just like any kingdom or aristocracy in human society. Their government mimics ours. That is the purpose of Sanctos, or whatever we end up calling it.
What you are now suggesting has nothing to do with a vampiric court. If you wanted something other than a vampiric court you should have stated it earlier. What you are suggesting might as well have centaurs, fey, witches and whatever frigging race you want to throw in it. Being a vampire would have nothing to do with it, Betel would not be seen as a medium between the two parties (because what you are talking abut is a secret society) and not all vampires would get in. Is this what you were wanting?

-Waves arms about- I ******** know they aren't like vampires! Also they can shape shift into carrion eaters...they do a lot more then just hide in graves and eat the dead.
You realize that the only reason it *might* be a ******** vampiric court was because when I originally thought of it, vampires came to mind and you suggested using the group noun for them...and up until I thought of the name Sanctos, we had been calling it a bloody court.
You know what!? ******** my original idea of having some shadow government that was trying to better society by having seven undead rulers. We'll go with the ******** vampire court since you seem so dead set on sticking the two together! But can I pick the elders' gender, or would that be too much to ask? It'll have seven bloody members, the Council/Synode could have nine since you got that idea in your head somehow and then you could think of the other members.
And another thing! Betel wouldn't exactly be advocating vampire superiority or whatever you think he'd be advocating. He'd actually be following his own agenda within the Council, and more than likely updates the Sanctos from time to time about possible things they could help influence. The seven leaders would each belong to a different governing body and I know there's more than just Sanctos, Synode, and Unseelie! But will they have any impact in the story?! Probably not, Sanctos might not either I just like the idea of having some sort of shadow group ready in case of some plot hook.
...This current argument aside, which could probably devolve into a rousing "******** you! No ******** you!," can they keep the manifestation thing that I thought of?
...Also do you think it's somewhat sound to say that Africa got vampirism from Rome and Greece? I don't know much about ancient Greece history but I do kno that Rome had several wars with Ancient Carthage. Though I'm not entirely sure if that was after the Gallic wars. My gut is telling me no.
Edit on the last part about Carthage: ahyfgagfjz The two wars ( Gallic and Punic) are like ninety years apart TAT Aside from that, do you think Hannibal could've spread it(vampirism) from Gaul when he went to stomp the Romans' back door(going through the alps specifically) during the second Punic war.
