Lady Bastet

PostPosted: Sat Jan 08, 2005 10:11 pm

Smirking at the remarks, Bastet listened for both of the remaining Nelpheans, trusting her ears and not her eyes. Standing at the right point, she stood ready with her sai in case the man moved to either side.

((It's getting late. As fun as this is, I must begin to end it))
Ivan plunged his hand right into the chest of the Nelphean in front of him. He was all set to execute the deadliest assasination skill he had, the best way to use the 'Breath of God'. He sent the flames into Nelphean's heart, burning him from the inside out. But he was completly unaware of the invisable Nelphean behind him. The daggers were inches away when *clang*. A man was now standing between the invisible one and Nelphean, the blades stopped by a sheild. He was about 45 and Chinese. He was wearing clothes almost exactly the same as Ivan's and the shield was strapped to his arm. "You're getting careless, Ivan." he said, "You usually don't let anyone sneak up behind you."
"I knew he was there, Balmung." There was a final burst of flames and the Nelphean laid in front of him, in ashes. "I was feeling some pain in my ribs. I thought a stab would cure it right up."
"You're crazy."

Nelphean curse at the sudden appearance of the shield barer and whistled.

The doors of the manor opened, and two long columns of Nelphean's marched out. The walked straight then broke the fromation and moved to make two parallel lines perpendicular to the mage and the shield Barer. On Nelphean stood at the end of the columns, and ordered the Nelphean's to load their weapons. The small army began to load the ancient guns from the nosile, and set them to their shoulders. Then the commander ordered the lines to aim. The front line droped down to one knee which allowed the second line to aim as well.

She shook her head and stood back mainly just ready. "Hmm, Shinga. Strange how it seems they are so engrossed in it. Almost as if it were personal." Her eyes went wide as the firing squad took formation. "Whoa," Noticing that she was in the way, she crouched down and dodged to the side. "And we left the guns out of the beginning why exactly?!"

All 54 Nelphean's say, "I don't usually carry it around." They continue to hold their stance, and the fire mashal Nelphean spoke some wierd ancient lingo that has not been heard on this earth since the first great war...

((world war I to not confuse people with what I mean by Great War))

((God damn computer crashed...again! scream The other post was worded perfectly and I lost it. I wrote this one in a hurry))
Balmung flipped a switch inside his sheild and it turned sideways. Three blades shot out from the end of the shieldin the formation of a claw. Balmung slashed Nelphean across the chest but only managed to slice up his leather garments. He then smashed the side of his sheild with enough force to knock him down. "Um...Balmung." Ivan tapped him on the shoulder, "You might want to see this." Balmung turned around and his eyes bulged at the sight of the Nelphean horde.
"H'oh s**t!" he gawked.
"Ditto." said Ivan. They both braced for impact, expecting the worst. Just then, a meteor appeared out of nowhere and collided right into the army. Balmung and Ivan covered their faces with their cloaks as waves of dust and debri flew out of the fiery mass. When the air cleared, the figure of a woman was standing on the roof. She was in her late 30s and was wearing a temple dancer's dress. "Hey, guys!" she called out to them. "Did you enjoy the show?"
"Jeanne!" Balmung shouted angrily, "You could have killed us with that blast!"
"I agree. That was a bit too close for comfort." Ivan said, dusting off his armor.
"Don't worry. It was only a small meteor."
"Yeah. Whatever. Since you're here I'm guessing the rest of the gang would be arriving soon."
"Yup. So let's toy with them some more until Lord Ultima shows up and ruins the party." She eyed the inhabitants of the manor. "Who wants an encore?" she said, smiling.

The Monolith leaped the distance from the trees to the Roof in the flash of the meteor and as she finished her sentence, Monolith grasped her head and crushed. He opened his mouth the create a zone of silence around the pair.

The Nelphean who apparently was uncut from the blade dashed his dagger under the arm of the man, and dug it into his throat.

Jeanne's Phantasm abilitys weere a skill, so the Zone of Silence was ineffective. She started creating series of complicated hand motions rapidly. When the beast's palm was only a heartbeat away from her head, hundreds of meteorites started raining down on the Monolith, each on a collision course with its chest. Since they were smaller, there were no explosions but the damage was sufficient. Balmung pulled his head back, avoinding most of the blade excepte for a small cut. He flipped another switch and his shield (which has the face of a lion) launched a small fireball at Nelpheans face, which was only mere inches away.

As Ivan seemed currently unoccupied, with no more copies for the moment. Bastet sprung up and came after him launching both her sai at him. After the sai reached him, she came after him, attaching herself to him by means of rapid claw strokes towards his face and abdomen. She made sure to listen for other attacks and move accordingly.

Monolith gladly absorbed the magical energies, and grabed her head, gaining strength and speed from the minuite meteors...

The illusion of Nelphean was destroyed by the fireball.

The Nelphean army stirred slightly and reformed ranks and vanished.

A click of a crossbow could be heard as a small dark nicked the neck of Ivan, and another Nelphean appeared right beside him holding the hand crossbow to his neck. "The poison on the dart will stop your muscles and slow desintegrate your muscles through natural spider venom."

Damn big spiders in the Loft

The illusionary dagger transformed into one of the bolts. "Got you both."

Ivan managed to catch both sais between his fingers. He then started to back up as Bastet started scratching him. He held his left hand behind his back, the dark scar on it started to flare up as he charged the 'Breath of God'. While it charged, Ivan started swinging his sword blindly in front of him, trying to ward off the ferocious cat girl. He felt a dart penetrate his neck. He smiled as the refreshing liquid flowed through his veigns. "Ah, the first few minutes of being posioned is always so refressing." He said as continued to back away. Jeanne started signing even more symbols, creating a vortex of strong winds around the monolith. Seconds later, it became a tornado. The winds were now strong enough to hurl the monolith around like a rag doll. "Try and get out of this!" she said, laughing.

Nelphean watched the frey unfold, these amitures could be dealt with easily individually but together they seemed to have a greater ability to live. He tumbled away from the frey, and tried to think of what he should do to even out the odds.

Monolith felt the rush of the winds, and used the vortex to guide his movements, he sunk his fingers into the wind, and began to absorb the magical energies used by the phatasmist to control the wind. The winds returned to normal, but Monolith had flown away from the building and fell, onto the man with the flaming shield.

Bastet dodged as well as she could, only managing to be caught by two or three of the blind swings, which to her delight began to heal, slower than usual, but it was a relief none the less. Reaching, she snatched at her sai to place them back at her belt. And moving closer to him, she kicked the sword upwards. As the freak, Ivan spoke, she slashed at his knees with her bloodied claws, attempting to make him fall. She seemed slower because of the energy she had already lost that day, and she backed off some to watch him, but she came in to attack sporadically.

Bastet's claws were seconds away from tearing right through Ivan's flesh. He tried to quicken his pace but the poison was already taking effect. But the pain was once again interupted by the arrival of the fourth and final Elite member, Mallory. She had positioned herself between Bastet and Ivan, she had bent down and had her arms crossed like an x and Bastet's claws were stopped by two Sai's in her hands. "Hi sweetie!" She said in the direction of Ivan.
"Don't call me that!"
"Hmph. Show some gratitude. I just saved your life."
"Not saved. Prolonged."

Balmung slashed downwards at another illusion. He was getting really bored with this. He glanced upwards and his mouth fell open at the sight of the Monolith. "This day just keeps on getting better and better..." he said with obvious sarcasm. He raised his sheild even though he knew it wouldn't do any good. Just then, a giant shruken was thrown at the Monolith's chest. Upon impact, there was a huge explosion and enough force to send the Monolith a few feet off its course. Balmung watched as the shruken pulled itself out and returned to a man's outstretched hand. Suddenly, all the Elitemembers were silent. Because standing just a few feet from the everone, was the Scarmaster himself: Lord Ultima.

Nelphean only said one word. "Damnit"

Monolith stood.
