Raleigh finished rinsing the acid off and went after the scientists, a lot of his skin missing. "We only need you in working order, so I'm going to find the bas***d who sprayed me and eat his spleen!"

The scientists were very frightened at the sight of the burned Aberrant. One of them reached out and grabbed a vial of some green chemical and quickly poured it down his throat, sending himself into a gurgling suicide.

A female looked up at Raleigh. "What...what do you want from us?!"



Alex felt incredible pain, and a bit of a sense of loss, from the explosion of his head. The stump remained, though the blood quickly clotted.

The incinerated guard fell screaming backwards...into a cabinet full of chemicals.

"Um, that would be Roger," she said, pointing the the fallen scientist without a throat.


Across the room, the chemicals jostled from the impact of the burning guard, and fell crashing to the floor. They quickly caught, and fire spread throughout the room. Aberrants and guards alike began fleeing in panic.

Raleigh sighed. "Ok, no good for spleens there. One more thing. Where do you keep the fire extinguishers?"

As if in response, the building's automated system's kicked in, spraying the room with a non-toxic foam to extinguish the bulk of the fire.

"There's extinguishers on each wall. Now, what do you want from us?!"


Hane's weapons cut down the final panicked guards.

"Now to business. How do you disable the bombs or dead man's switch that the being calling itself Tithe possesses?"

Lysander seized the woman's wrists with his top set of arms then plunged his finger claws into her arm.

Yuriko hovered above the fray. "Raleigh has it well in hand, Alex."


The woman screamed and her body began to warp. Her lab coat and shirt were shredded by thick bat-like membranes that grew from her sides and attaches themselves to her arms. She exhibited claws and fangs and red eyes and long pointed ears, soon becoming what looked mostly like a human with vampire-like features. Her only other distinguishing characteristic was the third red eye in the center of her forehead.

The vampire-like woman swooned, and reached up to rub her forehead. "Where...wait, I remember now...I was going to be cured. It didn't work, I guess."

She looked back up at Raleigh. "What were you asking? Oh, the bombs! Tithe has the switch hardwired into his brain. You'll have to find the chip and pull out the radio relay. It sends the detonation signal if his vital signs flatline, so you'll have to pull the relay out without killing him. But DON'T pull out the whole chip, or it'll think he's dead instead of just disconnected from it."
