Bobby nodded- the show was 'routine', despite the fact he would usually perform with his parents. He looked up at Huck because of the newcomer's question.

"It's for you. We're going to get some rain soon."

Huck smiled. "Thanks, bud. Here, my campsite's o'er here. Y'all want coffee or some chow?" he asked. To say that Huck was self-reliant would be a gross understatement. Put him in the wilderness and where most men survive, he'd probably quite enjoy himself. However, it did seem nice to not sleep in the rain.

"Tea? And I am hungry...."

Senna replied to Huck. She then prepared setting up the tent with Bobby who despite being smaller than her was actually a big help.

"Bobby, I noticed, that the freak show... everything in there seems stuffed and unmoving... I was just wondering what kind of a freak show it is... also, I noticed that there seems to be a lot of people I don't know here. Maybe after this if it's not raining we could go around with with this guy and meet /everyone/ here rather than just the kids right?"

Huck smirked. "I might have some here, lemme take a look." he said as he went into his food gear. Mostly fruit, coffee, the meat (and a few other things) from a deer he killed earlier that day . . . and found some instant tea, heating up a clean tin can of water to make it for Senna. He then went back to the others to pitch the tent, a little behind where he had made the fire.

"Help yerself t' anything. I was just gonna whip up some venison heah before this rain gets too bad." he said.

Seth stood up and made his way into the tent before it started to pour.Once he was in he sat on the ground and laid items out in front of him such as a card, rock, and the crystal that Senna gave him."I won't rest until I have my power back."He said focusing on each item.

"..."

Bobby had heard what Senna said, but he didn't exactly respond. If anything, he appeared spaced as they set up the tent for Huck. For one thing, he didn't know what to say... "what kind of freak show"? And he knew other people, but he didn't interact very much the way Senna was describing. Maybe it was a good idea to expand.

It started to pour rain around the time they were finished with the tent. Bobby took the initiative to step in first and check the roominess of the interior, and to get out of the wet weather for at least a moment.

Senna wondered why Bobby hadn't replied to her. When the rain started falling she went inside with Bobby grabbing hucks shirt pulling him in as well.

"Cannot let you get a cold can we."

Huck's campfire went out almost as quickly as it started raining the clay like dirt did nothing to divert the rain from the campsite. Senna took a deep breath inside the tent and tried to enjoy the rain, something she was accustomed to being from the United Kingdom but the rain had no hint of fresh plant life or purifying clearness that rain would usually have. Something she really only enjoyed about the rain other than the feel. This rain was bitter cold, and only brought out the smell of decaying clay and musty fabric that was the tent material draped around the place. She sighed and then looked at Huck after she pulled him in and sat down.

"So... what do you do here? And, what is you name if I may ask."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Siff moved the crystal over to his hand standing behind Seth. Once the crystal levitated to his hand he leaned down and pressed down on Seth's shoulder freezing his movements and holding him down.
"Take this as a warning Seth. Don't worry, you'll have your powers for performance only, but if you talk, act with disobedience to my rules or attempt to attack me again you will become the lion's dinner and Senna will be stuffed like the other Freak Show members. Seeing as she Mommies you so much and you care for her, it seems like a fitting punishment for your actions, and her curiosity of this place."
Siff dropped the crystal he'd been holding in his other hand over Seth's shoulder and pressed it into the lose dirt with his foot as he took a few steps away. Seth was still unable to move and Siff turned his gaze towards him peering down with a dark haze in his eyes.
"The game has ended Seth, it was fun right... But you are old enough now to face consequence like all the rest. Like every soul here. Till the end where we will face the endless darkness that is death together. There /are no happy endings/."
He stressed his last thought to Seth as he disappeared into the darkness looking away leaving Seth to be able to move again. The rain storm built into a very horrible thunderstorm, the tents beams cracked under the pressure of the wind and rain. It was obvious that Siff was off again as the place became rather violent.
Huck watched the campfire go out with almost a silent "Daggone it." Fortunately he got his stuff inside so that his provisions wouldn't get wetter than they already were. Of course he was a little disheveled. How a young drifter came all the way from Kentucky to here was a little out of the ordinary. He smiled as he instead went for some beef jerky he had in his pocket.
"I'm th' new knife thrower here . . . reckon my friends call me Huck." he said with a smile. They were sure nice to help a fella out. Although he wasn't too much for the desolate wasteland that it felt like being IN the carnival . . .
Seth's eyes widened when the crystal moved because he thought for a second that he was doing this until the cold aura of Mr.Siff stuck him. Before the boy could turn around to face him Siff frozen him in his tracks. He tried to resist but the fight and energy in him was completely drained. The male sat there and listened to the cruel words that the Ring Master spoke to him.
The sad truth of it all was that Mr.Siff was right. Seth's actions costed him and everyone else their every lives. There never was going to be a happy ending. Once the man was gone the boy felt the weight that was holding him down lift off his shoulder setting him free. Tears ran down his cheeks as he stayed in the same position ho
lding himself.
Senna looked at him and then looked rather curious.
"So you're an American?! What's it like on the other continent? Are there carnivals there too?"
She wasn't sure exactly how Huck had gotten to this continent, if he'd traveled there because of what she heard about the America's having some sort of depression. Senna almost felt like a total t**t asking him these questions... wondering if it annoyed him that she would be so interested in knowing American culture.
Huck smiled. "We got a few out there. Granted, most ain't quite like this 'un, but they're fun. Saw W.S. Walcott's one before I came here." he said with a shy smile. He didn't mind the curiosity. Of course, he showed a part of America not many folks saw. While most were into the popular culture, he was just a wanderin' soul.
"oh? Well, I'm Senna and this is Bobby, he's an acrobat here... was here before me, and I'm a stunt actress and sometimes, I just end up in the Freak show... but is life right. I'm actually from Wales... at least, I'm pretty sure I am."
Senna wasn't exactly sure where she'd come from seeing as she was just a small lass when she was kidnapped from her parents and sold to a Carnival Manager. Of course the people she was around did travel through the united kingdoms for a time before "Magic" was outlawed, and freak shows became inhumane... it was the only place that felt like home to her when the carnival was on that small island. And yet, with all her performances in most of europe, the places she was seen, her parents had never stood forward and claimed her as a daughter... something she felt that, either they were kept secret from her existence or they hated her now. Senna's expression blanked for a moment before she shook her head once to snap out of it and looked at Huck.
"... yea, anyway it's nice to meet you Huck."
Huck smiled. "Glad t' meet y'all, too. Wales sounds like a nice place." he said with a calm smile. Despite being slowly aware that his freedom was being taken away from him thanks to Siffy-boy letting him use his knife throwing skills, he thought back to his childhood.
The cultural beliefs all through the south had (and still have today) so many types of magic that the US government couldn't ban any of it. Being born and raised in Appalachia, the young Hillbilly knew more about the old beliefs (his family had a few practitioners of that old Appalachian "Granny Magic") than he did much about much of mainstream America. However, he didn't really care. He knew the highways and byways, however this new continent . . . this was a new adventure.
"They have a Freak show here? Like Coney Islan' or just guys just thinkin' they're freaks?" he asked.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 11, 2012 7:06 pm
"I don't know about a Coney Island... but, I assure you most every /freak/ is real. My wings are real... I can never shed them and live a normal life... if only it were for pretend."
Senna closed the tent door and held on it as the rain became heavier. She wasn't sure if this part of europe ever had this sort of weather but it might have just been because of the Carnival. Thunder cracked loudly across the sky darkening the tent quickly.
"Bobby has it ever stormed this badly before?"
Seth decided to finally get up and wipe his tears away.He couldn't just sit there and cry his life away.Plus if he stayed there he was going to catch a cold.What he needed was food and rest.He held onto the tent wall as he walked around looking for the others.Eventually he found Bobby,Senna, and someone new.He slowly made his way over to the trio not saying a word.Although, when he saw Senna he couldn't help but sit next to her and cuddle up to her.
