Meanwhile back in the tunnels
The amn in the blood spatterd coat was growing quite fustrated with the barricades "hmm whats this they have here and an old armor knight ? I can use this " He casualy walked over to where Van lay and then emuslifed himself into his red oily form seeping into the joints and crevases in Van's steel body. Suddenly the steelen mass lunged forward bashing through the second and third barricade and then digging its way though the fourth and fitfh to where Lady gwendolyn Anastasia and Natalie were hidden.
Van's Hijacked body then raised its steely claw about to crush them when Anastasia suddenly bolted form Nastasia's lap and infront of the claw, Placing her two hands on it she held it above hre head her wounds bleeding perfusely" I can withstand this longer than you now go" She said as she began to bleed form her mouth. Placing on foot forward she pushed the mass forward tilting it backward and staggering it.Gathering her strength she then lept forward ramming it with her body toppling it over.

  "Van no-" Mary gasped, her eyes filling with tears, but Naty grabbed her and pushed her forward, "go my lady, get out of here!" she yelled before grabbing Ana, "go with her, please i put her safety in your hands" she said to the bleeding girl before drawing her daggers and attacking Van's joint, breaking the parts that made him able to move

Despite cracking the pipes causing steam to come sparaying out it still moved red oil had coverd the holes and seeped from all other damaged areas holding everything together ,yet something started to happen. The steel Van's chassis was made of began to glow red in the center causing the oil to smoke then boil off and catch fire a shriek could be heard as the oild burned away, as sudden as it began the hulking metal machine cooled and fell back to its slumber ,what ever had possesd it now gone leaving another critical problem how to move it ?

Naty had jumped away before she got burned and looked at what was left of Van, breathing heavily. "s**t-" she whispered softly before shaking her head and looking at Ana, "you are too hurt to be able to move him, aren't you?" she said and sighed, running a hand through her hair. Mary stood, "look, i know i look weak, but i am stronger than you think" she said and moved to start pushing what was left of Van forward. "it will leave marks and let them know where we are, but it is better than leaving him here" she said, not showing any visable signs of strain as she pushe. Naty blinked a couple times before joining Mary, "Come on, Ana, you can watch our backs"

Miu-Lai's ear twitched at the faint boom of an explosion underground, snapping her out of her daze as she gasped. No... they couldn't have found them. Her fear was confirmed as a red light appeared in her vision: a spiritual alert. With a growl, she pulled out a large white ink brush from her satchel, darting off to the caverns as she traced symbols in the air with it. As the symbols became visible in front of her as two separate sets of messages, they separated and flew off in different directions, one going to alert Mullen of their predicament; the other warning Lady Gwendolyn of an action she may have to initiate if things get out of hand. That involved a complete reformation and reorganization of the labyrinth, which would risk her very life to perform. Of course she would only use it as a last-ditch effort in order to protect the empress, prisoners, and their new-found allies, as well as keep the soldiers lost and wandering in circles.
However, another thought bothered her. As she confirmed with herself her plan of sacrificing her life in case the situation went downhill, she couldn't help but feel scared about it. Was this because of what her grandfather had reminded her of? Why did she fear death now, when countless times before, she felt like she had absolutely nothing to lose? She managed to push away the thought as she entered the red glow of the labyrinth's interior, a long blade emerging from the cover of brush bristles as she ran through, the clamor of Cardinal Rengus' soldiers echoing clearly to her. Without a sound, she closed in on her "prey", her eyes filled with rage at the sight of them, her empathy detecting their dark intentions fueled her energy as she swung through at them, the blade's edge slicing cleanly through flesh and bone in a fountain of blood and shower of white, bloodstained feathers. She couldn't bring herself to have guilt here for her actions; she was the guardian, fulfilling her duties as the labyrinth's and the empress' guardian, as well as a faithful servant. There was no way she was going to allow herself to fall in defeat here.

Pulling on a lever nea each caused a wheel to pop out the bottom"It would be easier if we did this " she said as she popped out a second one.

  Minato snaked his way through the twists and turns of the tunnels, following whatever trail he found. It didn't take long before a voice echoed through. "Split the units! Squad One, continue your pursuit after the hostiles! Squad Two, get back to the mine entrance! The guardian poses the most threat and must be eliminated immediately!" came the command. As he followed the noise, he wondered for a moment about who or what this 'guardian' was. 'Mikkun, it's the girl!' Miyuna's voice said in his mind. 'Miu-Lai's in danger! She won't be able to hold her own against their numbers without help!'
The dragon let out a growl. 'If that's the situation, Rosemary and the others will have to wait a bit longer,' he replied. He wasn't too worried, knowing she and Naty were both able fighters, but he still had his concerns. 'We have to hurry then.' Wasting no time, Minato accumulated the energy around him, releasing it in a burst as he shot through the pipes, eventually seeing the great crowd of soldiers in the red lighting. 'There!' Immediately, a sphere of energy formed in his maw, growing to an immense size before he fired it off, the force blasting through the crowd and clearing the path. In one of the turns where the soldiers were concentrated, he could hear the swish of a blade clinking as it contacted the metal of guns in melee. If that was the entrance to the mines, that was also probably where Miu-Lai was forcing her way back into the labyrinth.

Naty smiled at the wheels and shook her head "Look, mom, wheels" she said softly in a childlike voice before starting to push. it was much easier now. hshe stopped long enough to plant a soft but greatful kiss on Ana's lips, "when we get out of this remind me to reward you properly." she said, grinning. Mary smiled and rolled her eyes, "come on you two, let's get out of here-" she said and hurried forward, pushing van ahead of them along with Naty.

Miu-Lai continued her battle back into the labyrinth, covered in cuts, deep and shallow from bullets and slashes, and drenched in blood. Her adrenaline rush wasn't going to last too much longer, but she struggled on. There were so many soldiers coming at her that she lost count of how many she felled already. She thought there wouldn't be an end to it. Through the clash of metal against metal, gunfire, and yelling, she heard another noise that brought her hope of getting through to protect the empress and the refugees. Around her brush-blade, the bristles suddenly saturated themselves in pure black ink as her eyes glowed bright ice-blue, and she swung the brush in a wide arc, sending a large black blade of ink through the soldiers before her right as the energy blast flew by in the intersection. Dashing out, she jumped onto Minato's back as he passed, her left hand holding onto his mane as her right gave her wrist a flick, retracting the blade before she tucked it away in her satchel.
"I almost thought you weren't going to make it here on time," she panted, starting to feel the pain from her wounds. She was bleeding, but hadn't lost too much blood yet, though she was starting to feel faint. She mentally fought to keep herself conscious. "These soldiers down here are all loyalists to Cardinal Rengus. Words nor diplomacy will not sway them. However, if they see Lady Gwendolyn rising back to power, perhaps we can get some of them to fight alongside us..."

Anastasia was quite taken by her approach not knowing what that very action meant ,being a golem she would not possibly know. The steel road wheels ov van's chassis now rolling made a steady claking and crunching sound as they rolled over the cracks and small gains of sand it crushed as the pushed it along.
It was an emesely heavy object for its realitvley small size , but of what importance it may serve them lie still unknown.
For all they knew thier allies soul may have still been entrapped with in the device even after it had shut down.
Meanwhile in the coldest depths Van hearing everything that was going around him heard a murmured voice, it soundnt familiar but lost to him , yet it seemed like it was saying
"they need you they need you "over and over
and then "use thy frame" and the voice had stopped it began to feel very warm and the smell of grease and oil had began to fill his senses. he could feel the hands pushing him along and the wheels rolling underneath him.
Aware and consciance van had stopped the wheels from turning any further bringing the three of them to an abrupt screeching halt where they stood.

Naty knew ana was confused about the kiss, but now wasn't the time to explain. she pushed with alongside the other two when suddenly the wheels stopped working and they came to a screeching stop. "what the-?" Mary took a step back from the evice, grabbing Anastasia and Naty's arms and pulling them back as well. something was strange about the device. she could sense it, "something's wrong" she whispered and at her words Naty drew her twin daggers and made ready to defend them both

 Gwendolyn reached the exit and looked around her. "They aren't here-" she said softly and began to become very very worried. She started to head back but then stopped knowing that if she went to search for them they could arrive here and have no one to open the final gate for them. but they could be in trouble or hurt and in need of help. she clenched her fists and sighed before moving to hide herself near the gate, keeping an eye on the entrance to wait for the others.

Minato twisted through branching tunnels, navigating easily now that some of the glowing runes had started guiding his path. Perhaps it was because he had Miu-Lai with him, but he wasn't going to focus on thinking about that. "I should've been able to block their path if only I found out how to navigate the place," he said in an apologetic tone. Even without having to see her on his back, nor smell her blood through the air, he could sense something was wrong. As her blood dripped over his scales, it gave a slight burning sensation along the trails the droplets took. "Are you alright back there?" he asked, not sure if he should expect a reply from her or not. Regardless though, he sped up, sensing he was getting close to the refugees and Lady Gwendolyn. "Stay with me, Miu-Lai. Stay with me."

Miu-Lai cringed, pain intensifying as every heartbeat pumped blood throughout her body. This had never happened before, so why was it? "Don't apologize," she almost growled, her jaw clenched as she squeezed her eyes shut. Her own blood was burning inside her, as well as her own skin as it dripped from her wounds. And she noticed the air here smelled much different than it did while the soldiers were fighting against her. There was something strange about their ammunition too, but....
Taking deep breaths, the wolf demon tried to slow down her heartbeat, much to no avail. She knew it wasn't just a possibility, but it was in fact.... "Poison..." She grimaced. So that's why their ammunition had a strange scent among the metal of the bullets and bayonets. She slightly opened her eyes again as she noticed the light reddish light of two glyphs floating in the air in front of her, but her vision was getting hazy; she could barely read them, let alone keep her head up as she felt weaker by the second. "Minato-san.... I'm..... sorry," she whispered as she sank onto his back, her vision slowly fading to black before she passed out.
