There's a simple way to stop this worry about magic and non magic characters fighting: don't let them. My character has one of the strongest types of magic around: the ability to manipulate electro-magnetic radiation. I snap my fingers, and boom. The strong force in your body is negated, and you poof into each seprerate particle that makes you up. But what do I use it for? I talk. I see. I make drinks. My character doesn't want to fight. There's no need. He's afraid of killing people. He acts like a simple illusionist. And so far, the only fight I've gotten involved in, all relevent partys got away scot-free. Now, even when some random mage tries to mind control him (and does a pretty good job of it. I'm having trouble making my character seem totally independant while being slightly controlled) he doesn't torch him. No need. No fighting=no horrible death.

You forget though Rein, as sad as it is, some people only RP to kill other characters. Like Ikhan. His only reason for being here is to kill.

Rintala The Writing Writer No, not at all. You don't get casting lines. You just die. And any weapon on you is a liability as well. Octave could use his solid magic to implode it. Or The Editor detonate it, depending on it's makeup. This is a magic RP. If you don't use magic- you get shafted. Period. If we want to be realistic- which we certainly do- a mundane character stands absolutely no chance against a mage who controls molecules, the things that make up matter. So you're telling me that I'm basicly s**t out of luck then? Well screw that. Why even bother putting non-magic based races, like the troll, in if they just die off in their first battle? I'm remaking my character. You made this magic system entirely too one sided, Writer. I like the guild, the story line really intriques me, and I'd rather not some little p***k like Writer try and ruin it for me.
And there's something I should point out. THIS IS A MAGIC RP. It is designed to reflect a world in which magic is the driving force. Playing a character without magic is like entering a modern RP with a character that doesn't wear clothes and still eats roots and bugs. I've ruined nothing for you- it was your own choice. On top of respect, you should learn something the majority of us call responsibility before you start complaining.

Ah, what a frustraiting little world we live in.
It would seem that the only solution to Rin's problem with her troll would be to have a friend who is a mage and will keep her safe or somehow get enough trolls to overwhelm a mage.
So, currently it is difficult to have a non-magic character like a troll.
Best remake for the moment indeed, I'm rather thrilled at the attempt of realizm here personally. biggrin

Yeah I wouldnt be a nonmagic character if I was any of you. Considering that....I could just touch you and turn you into a bomb and all. Though, if your goal here was to amuse me and provide me with living ammo, kickass.

Never said that the dude was a vorokinetic. Actually, I was making allusions to a diviner, someone who can see mana, and hear thoughts. You know, that sort of thing. And Khalen has been around a very long time. If your going to tell me that he has never used his powers in the way he did on the docks, please. The whole idea I had with Spectrum is of a secret, intelligence gathering ideological organization. If your character sucks the life out of mages, and Gelid's has been around practically forever, what the hell kind of problem do you have with an illusionist/ ex-terrorist who runs a bar. Little bit less weird, if you ask me.

Damien Vyrce Seriously? I would honestly love to make a character to be cannon fodder. Do it. We'll be so awesome. At least until you blow up, then I'll be awesome, and you'll be....exploded, but in some obscure way, you'll be part of that great triumph.

Not to rain on you rein....haha...rain and rein yes? Funny indeed? Ehem. Right. Not to rain on your parade buddy, but you'll need to explain it a little better than that...if you actually ever get into a fight.
