Idalla seperated herself from both Saradin and Calcryz, leaving them up on the roof so that she could find the time to read her favorite book. It was never quite the same, perusing the last pages of Uhsinakar's diary, always growing upon the events current in your mind. She plunked down into one of the kitchen chairs, dressed in some obviously antique attire from an age long past, that shed found in a room she had deemed her own. She couldnt remember the last time she wore anything like it, but then again, her attire was quite different back then. Anyways, wingless and relaxed, she put her feet upon the table before her and looked into getting back to what she enjoyed.

Outside, Calcryx stood apart from Saradin, scribbling some arcane markings into his own book that he not so much carried, but brought with him here none the less. "I see youve improved." He said without taking his eyes off of the scrawled symbols.

"Improved what?" Saradin said as Soulforge moved in several practice swings. "If you mean my technique of course. I never let up on practice."
"No, not that. Youre a lot more in control of your shadows now."
"How can you tell so easily?"
"You are a lot more personable for one. And the rest, well I have my ways."

Eclipse raised his head from his paws and looked to Aurahkah from his position on the foot of the bed. He hated it when she squirmed around like that some nights, made it so hard for him to sleep...especially when she kicked. Slipping off the bed he gave a big yawn and then shook out his fur. Letting his wings drag the floor he disappeared in a shadow walk, reappearing in the kitchen and padded over the the fridge, eyes closed and ears still flat with sleep. Nose touching his destination he raised up on his hind legs, hooking a forepaw in the handle on the fridge and pulling it open. Dropping back down he stuck his muzzle in, rummaging and chewing at various things he was making his breakfast.

Niah leaned back against the wall and closed her eyes. She needed something to settle her stomach. Slowly she stood holding onto the sink and walked out of the bathroom. Alex hadn't moved. She shook her head and left the room. Slowly she made her way to her own room opening the door. She looked in and sighed. Everythng was destroyed. She walked in and stepped over piles of rubble and ash where her clothes no doubt used to be. She began searching to see if any of her remedies survived. A few minutes later she threw her hair out of her face and pursed her lips. Slowly she looked around the room. Where is that damn book? I know that little spell could not counteract all the enchantments on it.. Then her eyes hit on a light coming from a pile of ash. She hurried over and dug through it sneezing once or twice from all the dust. She smiled and pulled out a thick book. The cover had a strange symbol on it that glowed brightly and then faded. Hugging the book to her chest she left the room and made her way to the library. Once in the library she sat down behind Aura's desk and opened the book with a whispered word. Slowly she flipped through it's embossed pages. She had to find everything she could.

"Well you know the full story now." Saradin continued while he tested his muscles with short precise swings. "I didnt respect my power before."
"And now something's changed?"
"Yes." Despite all the prying, Saradin had still neglected all mention of his shadow double and the renewed hatred he felt for himself. The act, as deplorable as it was, had given him better respect for his 'gifts' and even peace of mind now that the shadow plane itself was partialy quelled.
"I wonder what could make the great Saradin want to actively use such 'Tainted' power. I know youre hiding something. I may just be a nutcase and a pyro, but I can clearly tell these things."
"Im not the only one thats changed then."
"What can I say, its one of the many gifts of my heritage."
"Spare me."

Idalla looked just over the brim of her reading, and watched as the peculiar animal foraged for food in the refridgerator. "What are you exactly?" she said quietly. "Lets see, not human, obviously. Not extraplanar. And certainly not natural. Im guessing youre the Eclipse that Saradin has mentioned on multiple occasions."

Opening his eyes and pulled his head from the fridge, piece of meat still in his jaws, he chewed and swallowed before turning to her, kicking the door shut with his back paw. "Yes...," He interrupted himself with a yawn, "I'm Eclipse." He gave a chuckle. "I knew Saradin Phoenix thought highly of me, but not that he spoke of me often to others. I'm touched." Yawning again he shook out his fur and feathers and flexed his wings, raising their tips off the floor, splaying them to their full span in stretched then folded them neatly back. "As for what I am...technically, I am a highly sophisticated being composed of shadow and dark magics that was given the means to make its own mind and form..."

"Phoenix?" Idalla said immidiately, furrowing her brow and trying to make the connection in her head. "What in the world makes you call him that?" But listening on to his self explaination she closed her book and rest it against her knee. "Youre just about the only thing he'll willingly mention without us prying information out of him. Hes notorious for witholding information from us. Now I see why he speaks highly of you though, being of the same make. More or less. So youre somewhat of a living construct given birth to by magic?"

"I guess you could classify it as that type of thing. Around here people merely seem to not care how I came to be, only that I am here and not going anywhere anytime soon." Sitting back on his haunches and facing her he tilted his head to the side at her. "It runs deeper than just the make that we share dear, he's often said that to me himself. From what I've been told, it's what I represent, not what I am made of. And why Phoenix? Because only a phoenix can bring itself down as Saradin does, then rise from it all again...just as Saradin does. He wants to hold on to his name, I'll give him that. But now I will also give him the other." He gave a soft snort and then a nod.

Atreyu rose from his dark seal with a wicked smile on his face, he could not withstand, the laugther as he rose into the darkness of the forest, wrapped once more in his dark evil cobras. He was going to have so much fun with those little souls in the manor, they would know what was coming after them until it was already far to late. Crossing his legs on the floor, and summoned his dark seal once more. "Ohh..the fun we will have." he laughed as the blood ran down his face, empowering the magic of the darkness of his evil soul. His magic took shape at the manor, more speciafically right at the foot of Shinga, and from this new dark seal erupted two dark figures, small and tiny. As the shadows threw back it was clear who this two girls were the Twins Dawn and Twillight. Except something was terrible wrong, there precious eyes have been gauged out and there wrists torn open the blades still longed in the arms. The floor quickly pooled with blood, as there Victorian dresses soaked in thre own fluids. A smile spread across there faces as they opened there mouths and spoke. "Why the glum face?" The twins spoke as one.

Niah opened a drawer and grabbed some parchment and a quill. She began to scribble furiously and ran over all the remedies she knew by heart. She stopped after a few minutes when her mind went blank. Burn salve...what's the last thing? Oh this would be so much easier if I had all my books... She stared at the piece of parchment and shook her head. There was no way she was going to remember everything she needed to be a proficient healer. Why did Alex have to destroy all of it? She layed her head on the desk and slammed a fist beside her. This was not going well. At all. Papyrus, honey, lavendar.... She mentally went through them all. But one was still missing. "Dammit!" she cursed. Standing she walked to Aura's shelves and began to pull books out.

"Hmnm, a clever one you are. A bit of philosophy into that one." It was amusing really, listening to such statements froim someone who probably needed the occasional flea bath. Idalla took to biting the corner of her lip as she listened, one of her half hidden fangs tearing slightly at the skin seeking to draw blood. "I dont think Id like to see him burn to ashes again though. What exactly has he been doing here? All he says is 'maintaining the peace'" She took delight in attempting to mimic Saradin's tone as she repeated what hed said.

"I may look like a winged dog, but I have a mind that far out thinks merely food, fleas, and attention. When I want to that is, at least." He paused for a moment at her statement. Eclipse didn't want to see it happen to Saradin again either...but it always seemed to no matter what he did. "Maintaining the peace? Is that how he put it?" He gave a soft chuckle. "If we're talking literally maintaining the peace...well let's just say that when threat comes storming in, he's the first to step into the fierce winds of it. Even if he created the very tempest himself." Taking a moment to smooth back a misplaced feather that had been bugging him he again looked to her. "Speaking on other terms...he's been keeping the peace within himself with the simple pleasures of life that he enjoys. His cooking and such."

Nailah glared at the parchment in front of her. Her brain was beginning to hurt. She never thought she would have to make sure she remembered all the remedies. She rubbed her eyes and slammed yet another book. "No help at all. I didn't ask for the causes of burns or even how to treat them. I need the recipe for the salve!" Now Niah knew she was losing it. When she began yelling at a book like it was a person it was bad. Deciding she needed a break she walked to the kitchen. "Saradin I hope you made more cheesecake dear. I need it." She came in and stopped suddenly, realizing that it wasn't Saradin in deep conversation with Eclipse. "I'm sorry I didn't realize we had company." Niah hated the fact she looked like hell. She was still in a white silk nightdress but now it was covered with dirt and ashes. She had a feeling she had streaks of dirt on her face and no doubt in her hair too. Great first impression Niah.

"Well, I'll make him take care of himself one way or another. Even if I have to drag him out of harms way kicking and screaming." Holding her eyes shut, Idalla couldnt resist laughing at the thought, an eerie giggle actually, but still a laugh. "Cant let him get away with what he wants he really wants." The last thing Eclipse had said took a moment to really sink in however and Idalla responded accordingly. "Wait... Cook? Saradin... cooks?" she said, half bewildered as she pulled her feet down from the table and sat upright in her chair. "When in the world did this happen?"

Shenga blinked, smiling faintly. "wouldn't you like to know. why don't you tell whoever nailed that man to the wall im not haveing a good day, and im not in the mood for thire twisted parlor tricks." she said coldly, staring at the two, trying to fight down an urge to scream, which wouldn't have done any good at the moment, and since the two weren't really there, they were gone, like Elias, she rationalized it in her mind as being a trick of some kind.
"Or whom ever sent you."

Eclipse chucked as her reaction, then that of Niah's as she had obviously come in search of Saradin and cheese cake. "Yes, he cooks almost every meal in this house. The fridge is stocked with his left overs and as you may have guessed thanks to our sweet empath Nailah here, his specialty is cheese cake. I'm surprised we haven't built an alter to the man's cooking yet." Giving another laugh he turned his eyes to Niah. "Niah, this is one of Saradin's friends. They arrived yesterday."
