Haru Mania I thought it was a bit peculiar that water would work that way against vampires... and I'm guessing the old tale about a vampire obsessively untying every knot in a string is steeped in myth as well, ah? xD Well, I've never even heard of that one, so I'm gonna go ahead and hazard a guess that it's false. Sounds pretty much along the same lines as the penny thing.

Sounds pretty much along the same lines as the penny thing. yes, everyone knows that vampires HATE small change, not in a weakness sort of way, more of a "they only use folding money"

Well, it's not like we one have the option of one uber holy guy. We could probably round up all of the moderately holy folk in society and have them all try to bless a lake at once- you know, as a test, then we let them rest and then start on the oceans. After that I guess we could have them try glaciers but I'm not sure how the different state of matter would affet the whole process. On the upside if we get all of the oceans, river, lakes, and glaciers the vampires will be utterly screwed in any non landlocked area or at least durring rainfall.
Finding the guy who's burning and running to get out of the rain would be a pretty easy way to find the sissies who try to hide.

An interesting question... My sister (ShadowedMoonlight is her gaian username), is a vampiric witch demon who appears to be immune to crosses and other such holy artifacts... and I'd much prefer NOT to kill her... she seems to show a very slight weakness to light, does anyone have any suggestions of how I could get her back to being a normal person?
as a side note: does it cost to join this guild, and if so, how much?

Hmm... umm, well I'm frankly amazed that such and unlikely concatetation of stuff joined together into a single person somehow, but I suppose she's a lot better off then some of the stuff we've had to try and sort out before. Well, as far the witch part goes, that's pretty easy, as it's voluntary. It's something that you choose or choose not to be. Witches aren't really monsters, and aren't even inherently bad, though if they are bad, and sufficiently skilled, that branch of magic generally tends to lean toward summoning demons to earth. Now, the part about being a vampiric demon... is this a particularly nasty vampire we have here, or some kind of crossbreed? I don't mean to sound nit-picky, but technically, a vampire is a demon, just a very specific type. Perhaps with more details a better conclusion could be reached. I'm sure the next chance that my fellow Slayer's Jon-Oh and Thaddeus can drop in, they can add their opinions as well. And speaking of those two, they're also the ones who decide whether or not to accept new applicants to the guild, (the entry fee for which, I believe, is 100 gold) as our leader AstralSamurai is on a leave of absence for a while. So you'll want to talk to them anyway. But in any case, while you wait for that, please feel free to hang out in the guild and chat with people. It's been a busy time of year, so there hasn't been a whole lot of guild activity. Hopefully everyone will be back soon. If you're wondering, our usual hangout spot is The Couch. I've been working on a spell to de-French it for the last few days. It should be French free soon.

There are only 3 methods to reliably remove the curse of the vampire from someone, firstly, if they have yet to feed upon the blood of the innocent, then simply kill the master vampire, easy peasy...ish, secondly, and this one is SUPER difficult, you must obtain from them a true and heart felt confession of faith and a total repentance from evil... this doesn't work very often if for no other reason than vampires, just like people, tend to favor evil by nature, but unlike people, if a vampire infected falls prey to evil post-vampireing, they could suffer a serious relapse, thirdly, kill her, kill her before she can do any more damage to herself or her soul!! Obsession with putting in my own say has led to the following bunch of words n`stuff, the experts here should probably disregard it.
Furthermore it's silly to think that combining races, classes, and/or dining habits would minimize your weaknesses- well, there aresome rare but unlikely combinations with minimal vulnerability like a troll dragon crossbreed who becomes a lich but virtually anything combining standard vampires or the morphologically identical "vampyres," wouldn't have that sort of advantage without a number of large and noticable rituals in monument grade structures (ie stonehenge.)
Rather, and this is if I have properly interpretted her geneology, she would have about 1.733 (with repeating 4's afterwards,) the regular reaction to any holy object, two fifths the regular vampire reaction to sunlight, and close to double the aging rate of whatever class of demon was intended- which is still a fairly long life. If not for the double demon heritage the life-clock would just pause itself at maturity but such is the dilemma of crossbreeds. Her response to regular bocket-ized water would be about equal to any standard witch-es reaction.
As a final note I would like to mention that crossbreeds are more versatile than purebreeds, but just don't tend to have the same potency of the useful traits.

Ah, I never intended for my explanation to extend to fully seperate species. It's got to at least be humnoid for the offspring to not be riddled with extreme, crippling, and revolting defects.
I was thinking more along the line of the more acceptable monsters, like catgirls. You rarely see a fullbreed with the huge furry extremeties and six nipples but the gradient ones inbetween are pretty nice eye candy.

It's got to at least be humnoid for the offspring to not be riddled with extreme, crippling, and revolting defects. I was thinking more along the line of the more acceptable monsters, like catgirls. You rarely see a fullbreed with the huge furry extremeties and six nipples but the gradient ones inbetween are pretty nice eye candy. and on the upside, there's a very high liklihood that they aren't able to bear children. Yet another bonus.
