Raithe and Ashen walked into the room, looking around as they entered. Raithe had her hands behind her head, and her eyes were half closed. "Hey... What happened to you asking for a password?" She asked drowsily.
Ashen, despite being tired earlier, seemed wide awake. "What's that...smell?" He asked, sniffing tha air tentively. The hairs on the back of his neck stood on end, something he was unfamiliar with.
"Who cares what it smells like." Raithe responded. "Where's the bed?"

"Actually I'm looking for a group of adventurers. There should be five of them." Armod handed the innkeeper thirty gold coins. "I need to know where there room is."
* * *
Shadow had taken out his stone and was transfering some powers to it. It would be useful to have powers useable even when he was weakened. He would also need more power in it to make his own demi-plane, something that could greatly enhance his power. He smiled as he read the book, it wouldn't be that hard, it would take about a week but with the luxury of this inn he would be able to do it easily.

The old innkeeper's grin only broadened at the sight of gold. "8A, sir." And he pointed in the direction of the room. "Enjoy your stay..you are staying, yes?" He cursed himself for not realizing that this man could very well be attempting an assassination. The safety of the customers should always come before gold...should..

Armod smiled, the adventure was about to begin. He walked over to the room the innkeeper had pointed to. And went to knock when he noticed the door was slightly ajar. He pushed the door open and stepped in trident held unthreatenly. * * * Shadow looked up as the door opened. A strange man, completely blue, was standing in the doorway, armed. He talked in the minds of his companions. We have company.

Raithe heard Shadow's voice in her head, and her shoulders slumped as she let out a sigh. "But I want to sleep...." She complained as she turned to face their visitor. She gave him a cold stare and her voice was thick with anger and annoyance as she spoke. "What do you want?"
Ashen also turned to look at the newcomer, and moved close to Raithe, though slightly in front of her. He didn't speak, but eyed the man, a cautious look on his elegant face.

Armod withdrew the letter from his pack. "I found this letter in my pack, it directed me to your group, with the promise of adventure within it." He tossed the letter onto a table, allowing everyone to see it. "I would help you, if you do not mind more company."

Slouching even further, Raithe let out another sigh. "I don't care, I'm too tired to deal with this. Come back after we've had some sleep, eh?" Then she looked around the room. "Where is the bed!?" She mouned. She was tempeted to just lay on the ground and sleep there. Ashen felt the same way, and his stomach protested to the lack of material in it.
Ignoring his stomach, he examined the letter the man had put on the table. "What's yourname?" He asked quietly. His platinum bangs fell over his eyes and covered most of his face as he bent over to read the letter. It was in the same writting and style as the one they got.

Chapter 7: Flesh Eater
Soveliss struggled to gather his thoughts. Once he succeeded enough, he swung his body upward, managing to stand. His movements were as if he had no bones in his body, completely fluid. He balanced himself against the nearest wall, the blood on his fingers painting it crimson. Soveliss' eye circled the room, taking in everything around him, even though his mind failed to register it. Every conscious thought in his body focused on retaining the ability to have those thoughts. It was clear to him he should not be standing right now, his decaying muscles protested silently against such an action. But soon it would all end. Even so, it would never be too soon...

Will was slightly torn between Soveliss, and the current state of affairs. But he knew that Soveliss was either going to do this, or not. Will directed the starving company to the dining table, a feast had been prepared, many of the gourmet likings of strange travellers were also seen here, as well as the old stand-by's. Everything was dead and properly cooked, and in fact it looked almost too good to eat in its presentation. "After you guys munch on something, the beds are spread about, mostly in the rooms." Will smiled, "Have a good... day's rest. I will not wake you unless in the case of an emergency."

Eclipse sat down, his back leaning against a rather old oak tree. He began to take in nature once again. The beautiful blue skies, the birds soaring over-head, the trees swaying in the wind. It really did feel like Eclipse's birthday. For some reason for almost one hundred of his birthdays, the weather had been like this. He closed his eyes and smiled at the thought of his companions, new and old. Some of his old colleagues hadn't end up in the best of places, but they all survived. Abel had been a lover of flowers and poetry. He was overly loyal, and had trusted everyone who past him on the street. Of course his mind had been corrupted, among things the lust for power and blood. That's what made him perfect for his current proffession, and choice of company. Matthew had been an optimistic spy, with a very strong moral sense, he also was horrible at hiding his true feelings. Now he had no feelings. Eclipse's smile faded, so many people had become what they sought to destroy. Neither bussiness was ever straight forward, good or evil.
Then he thought of his current choice of group. Shadow, "The Archpsion". Will had told him of his wish upon the tree, he seemed overly hasty in decisions, and his powers were strong, he just didn't seem to use them to their potential. Raithe, "The Rash Rogue." She often reminded Eclipse of a young child, so naive, yet at that same time, he knew of her inner nobility and loyalty to Ashen. It was great the bond that Ashen and Raithe shared. Eclipse sighed, it also frustrated him when he thought of his own feelings, they often tormented him more than anything. Knowing that he'd never have another chance in hell to find someone who would love him. Ashen, "The Red Protector." Eclipse had a feeling Ashen came from a noble heritage, and his attachment to Raithe was at times unbearable. Those two truely watched each other's backs, but of course Ashen was mostly watching Raithe's back, because Ashen's tail did most of the covering of his back for him. Will, "The Sage of Will." He had known Will the longest of them all, he was one of the few people left alive he'd trust his life too. He was powerful, and morally sound. His affixiation with power never ceased to surprise him though, Will didn't ever say he was, but deep down, he knew Will wanted more power. He wondered his modivation... Eclipse assumed that this quest for power was so he could better protect those around him. Soveliss, "The Tormentor." Since the beginning of Soveliss' reign Eclipse had watched the news about him closely. Much of his earlier actions had been blamed on Eclipse, but that was just because his hype had been at its peak. Eclipse had visited just about everytown left in Soveliss' wake, it was disgusting. No more than 2 people were ever left alive, and after close examination, it was because Soveliss had usually left "special" people survive. Eclipse always questioned this, was he trying to seperate the strong from the weak? Of course Soveliss' destruction was refined, and very precise. He had been lucky enough to one time witness this 'chaos.' Of course it wasn't chaos, it was as if people were lining up to get slaughtered. There were no screams that night, just silent tears. Buildings, animals, wildlife, it all was left intact. Soveliss probably didn't find joy in chaos, as much as blood. He knew much of Soveliss' current pain, you didn't have to be undead to want to be able to have feelings. Just to really feel alive. Of course Soveliss might have been growing old or bored, many of his slaughter sessions stopped, they became few and far between. The Tormentor, was at his strongest when he felt nothing, but joy. ((Big edit, I'm going to post my next bit after, in a seperate post.))

Shadow grabbed a bit of food and ate while he read. One week, I'll be vulnerable however. But this will be worth it. Once the demi-plane itself is done I'll be able to make access points to various sites in Eberron, and I'll have a sanctuary. Shadow snapped the book closed. He was still rested enough to begin. He left for his room and upon arriving locked the door and window. He then sat down and began the task of crafting a demi-plane. * * * "My name? It's Armod." Armod walked into the room, it seemed like the companions didn't mind. "You seem quite interested in that letter, why?" Armod put his pack on the ground and trident over his shoulders as he waited for an answer.

Raithe looked at the fod laid out, and her jaw dropped. It was all she could do to keep from drooling. It had been so long since she had seen good food, and even longer since she had last tasted it. "Ok, I think I can do without a bed for a while longer." She said happily, and quickly sat down at the table. Once she gave a quick look at all the choices of food in front of her, she began to make her way through everyone of them.
Ashen spared his partner a look, and smiled, shaking his head. "Take it easy there Raithe, or you'll get sick." He said over his shoulder. She simply responded by waving it off as she shoved more food into her mouth. He marveled at how she could eat so much, so fast, yet still keep clean.
Turning back to Armod, Ashen shrugged as he spoke. "Everyone here also received such a letter. It's interesting that your's didn't lead you to the same location as ours." As if remember something, Ashen shook his head, and gave Armoda smile. "Sorry, I forgot to introduce us. My name is Ashen. That over there is my partner Raithe." He gestured to Raithe who was still eating with no signs of slowing down. "And then there's Will, Shadow, Soveliss, and Eclipse is out." He gestured to each person respectively, resting on Soveliss for a moment as he examined him. When it came to Shadow, he simple pointed to the rom he had retreated to.

Suddenly 5 shuriken came flying at the barely awake Eclipse, he easily caught in between his 3 fingers on his left hand and 2 other he deflected with his gauntlet. He stood slowly, all 5 were perfectly thrown and on target to kill. Eclipse stood slowly, and then his eyes opened, he very slowly turned his head to the side to see a man dressed in ritual robes of the Black Spider Clan. Eclipe's eyes had changed color and appearance again, they were once again entirely yellow, with two black slits extending from the top of his eyesocket to the bottom. If any normal man had caught his gaze they would have either ran away in fear, or been paralyzed in it. Of course most normal men would have wet their pants when they saw Eclipse just stop 5 shurikens half asleep. "Abel, so good to see you again." It didn't look it but Eclipse's eyes were darting, something wasn't right.
"You're as prepared as ever," a smirk swept across Abel's face, behind his clothed mouth, only his eyes were able to be seen.I guess you're too ready for my attacks.
Eclipse noticed something, Abel's robes were either well cleaned and pressed, or were brand new. Now this particular uniform had a fabric that either ripped, or easily stained with the type of shuriken he had just thrown. It looked as if he had barely even moved his hands, let alone throw five shuriken. He was a decoy. Three Kunai knives fly by his head, they all could have easily been fatal, instead they hit Abel. All three were in non-fatal paralyzing locations, his left shoulder, the base of the right side of his neck, and one in the right bicep. Eclipse was stunned, Abel fell over like a flat board unable to move, you could see in his eyes he was shocked, and it seemed betrayed. As he fell each kunai knife had one word on them. Eclipse was almost afraid of turning around, as each piece of paper, perfectly turned to face Eclipse, it read from left to right 'Look, Behind, You.' Eclipse took a rather large breath, he slowly turned and faced... Eclipse's mind went blank. The person who stood before him was a ninja, dressed in the same clothing as Abel except. He was a child, no older than 13. Only one feature stood out instantly about this child, his eyes were were sky blue, yet there were no irises in either of his eyes... It was as if staring into blank emotionless circles, impartial to the task at hand. Eclipse whispered under his breath, "The Prodigy."
