If Octave didn't have guns I'd be kinda eager to find him and fight him, but as it is I need to find Shantrak/Rintala a gun...something big that she can use, like an M60 or something along those equal lines. Just because she's massive and can wield something as big as that with little to no physical discomfort or strain.

Yes; Atlantis is the main rp, so I guess that the people who start out in other places get rather lonely. Starting in other areas has really just turned out to be used mainly for rping your leave taking to get to Atlantis.

Editor In Chief Gren the Wolf Mage Alright, I've decided to restart my character and patch my usage of her powers so that they fall to a specific strain of animals... Though shamanism is kind of a dumb power I'd rather like permission to try and make it more fun... until i get slapped I'm going to toy with the spirituality to try and make it more inturesting. Ah the uncharted world of magic... In other words, all my posts in the rp have no meaning anymore. I'll work on getting some new ones in with proper content. Does that mean you would like me to erase them? Yes honestly biggrin

You would stand absolutely...no chance. Considering the fact that you have no magic, and therefore no mana frequency, an Air mage could simply expand the air in your lungs until it exploded, or a fire mage could boil you blood, turn you into a living bomb, etc, ect. That goes for every character without magic- including you, Kakashi.

Edited my profile, and wes, lemmy know if my magic starts to go against the rules. I'm just trying to make shamanism a bit more interesting...

Not that I couldn't kill a person with magic just as quickly. Remove the air around them, and with a little extra thrown in, they'll go down just as easily in that vacuum...plus they get to do the scary eyeball-popping out thing.

And then they would simply use the line rules to negate the post. If they were good enough. With those without magic, however, there is nothing for them to defend with. The line rules do them no good- it's basically an insta-kill.

So you're basicly telling me since I'm a troll, apparently one of the most physically imposing and powerful, races of the guild I'm gonna get my a** whooped by a little elf? Not only could I probably crush the frail little skeletal structure of a human with my upper body strength I've got this massive battle axe the cleave through anything else. Now I realized that I'd be at a disadvantage against magic users when I picked the minataur subrace, but if you're telling me that anyone and their mothers can basicly instakill me with a rinky-dink three line post I am going to be really pissed off. Why even put the race there if they're just going to die the first battle they get into?
They already have enough disadvantages as is. Having no magic limits what you can do to simply pulling a trigger, or in my case, swinging an axe. Not only that but because it's a direct effect on the opponent, seeing as how if we did too many things at once it might be labled auto-hitting or god modding, it severly limits the amount of 'lines' we can put into our post and thus making it even more unlikely we'll win a fight. And since the only lines that count in a battle is the casting lines, the actual description of the casting, physical or arcane or molecular, which we don't even have in the first place, we're at a still larger disadvantage. Now I think, in a battle setting, I can do a farely good job of describing my actions and attacks, if I'm going into melee combat, but there's a limit to how much I, or anyone else for that matter, can use to describe a single action.

Yes, I have been thinking on this for awhile. I think that maybe there should be rules between magic and non-magic characters when they fight, but I won't step on Wes' turf.
Wes dyed his hair! *Le'Gasp* surprised ^_^

No, not at all. You don't get casting lines. You just die. And any weapon on you is a liability as well. Octave could use his solid magic to implode it. Or The Editor detonate it, depending on it's makeup. This is a magic RP. If you don't use magic- you get shafted. Period. If we want to be realistic- which we certainly do- a mundane character stands absolutely no chance against a mage who controls molecules, the things that make up matter.

Wes dyed his hair! *Le'Gasp* surprised ^_^ He did. Steve, your signature terrifies me.
Also on the matter of the whole vulnerability thing, I know it's terribly unfair. I'm working on some method to manipulate the mundane mana frequencies of...well, mundane characters like Rintala's or Kakashi. The guy with the spaceship is just ******** no matter what, because I can't do anything with metal.

So you're telling me that I'm basicly s**t out of luck then? Well screw that. Why even bother putting non-magic based races, like the troll, in if they just die off in their first battle? I'm remaking my character. You made this magic system entirely too one sided, Writer. I like the guild, the story line really intriques me, and I'd rather not some little p***k like Writer try and ruin it for me.
