After a long silence somewhere between sleep and thought, Saradin finally answered. "That would serve this place well. A pheonix." He stood up after finishing his coffee. He wandered out of the room, thoughts wandering on and off of firey birds rising from ash. The soulforge sat motionless on the kitchen table still. Saradin though wandered the halls, mind not quite there, eventually finding himself in the library, reading some random book weary mind traveling about on its own.

((sorry, feeling oddly drained... gotta go.))

Aura finished off her mug of coffee as she stared at Soulforge. She reached a hand out and grasped it's hilt, lifting it from the table and held it vertical for a moment, studying it. It looked like a completely different sword than before. Standing she gave the sword, one good swing, then held it vertical as she looked to Eclipse again. "A Phoenix it is....well Eclipse seems like this place has taken a whole new meaning on...maybe we should mark the manor as well." She gave the winged wolf a smile.

Eclipse jumped up from his spot on the floor, flared his wings and barked happily at his master, all the while uttering words of comformation of the idea in her head.

Aura held the sword out to Eclipse. "We'll hold onto this for Saradin until he comes to claim it again, shall we?"

He trotted over, taking the sword by it's hilt in his jaws and then ran off with it to where Aura would be going, the two already deciding where the manor's first mark of symbolism would be placed.

Smile on her face, Aura felt her fatigue wash away. She gave a nod to Ardra as she placed her mug in the sink and then followed after her winged friend.

((i actually have to wake up before 1 tomorrow anyway))

Checking his handiwork in the mirror on last time Khenu smiled. Having taken the angel feather Phea had given him he had tied it into his hair so that it hung just in front of his ear on the right side of his head. He gave it a tug, making sure it was secure and walked from his room humming.

As he walked he took out his boomerang, inspecting it and checking for any damage that may of occurred to it in the fight. Aside from some dirt and grimy black stuff it was fine. He could clean it right up.

After visiting the kitchen for a bowl of hot water and finding himself a small towel, Khenu sat himself down on the floor in the Great Hall with the objects and began to wash the ick from his boomerang.

Aura brushed the wet hair from her face as she continued to trace two fingers on the outside of the main door that led into the manor. The rain was merely an annoyance as she continued her work.

Next to her, the ever faithful Eclipse had his wing splayed and held it slightly flopped over so as to provide a type of feathered umbrella for his master. He watched her intently, secretly enjoying the fact that she was using this particular power of hers again, he actually missed the dangerous tomb robbing adventures they had.

Where Aura's fingers traced, a groove was left in the heavy black stone, seared a white color as the heat etched grooves were cooled by the rain. An hour later, she stepped back, soaked and dripping with water, despite her friends attempt to keep the rain off. Apparently Aurahkah's old stone dissolving power came in handy for something other than breaking open tombs. On the door, the image of a phoenix had been engraved, it's wings flares as it rose from a raging fire beneath it. satisfied with her work, Aura stepped back inside, wringing water from her hair.

Eclipse followed suit and pushed the door closed with his back foot, then shook out his fur and feathers, flinging water in the hall.

Khenu smiled as white started to show through the grime. Next came the red of the diamond shaped mark and embedded ruby. Removing the guards, he began to clean the sharper edged with care.

Blue and green came out on the ends, the sharp points grabbing at the fabric of the towel, threatening to slice through completely and bite into his hand. He ran the wet towel along the inner edge, cleaning that as well.

He now was drying the object, satisfied that it wasn't damaged and was a trusty as ever to get him out of a jam. Looking at it harder he noticed that within the embedded ruby, what seemed like trapped electricity went off within it. Touching a fingertip to it, it made electricity crackle in his hand and run up his arm, but quickly died as it reached his shoulder. "Whoa..."

"Best be careful with that stuff Khenu, we don't need to be having any accidents." She smiled at him as she passed him, then continued on to her room where she dried off and changed into some dry clothes.

Eclipse, with Soulforge still in his jaws laid himself and the sword down next to Khenu. He licked the water from the blade, not wanting it to rust or something of the sort, then took to licking the water off his feathers. Wet feathers weren't fun.

Aura came back moments later, towel in hand and sat on the floor next to the two. She threw the towel over Eclipse's back, helping him dry himself and his fur. She then dried off Soulforge as well.

Khenu re-guarded his boomerang and watched Aura tend to both wolf and sword. "I didn't know you used a sword Aura." He laid down on his stomach, propping himself up on his elbows and watched Eclipse preen his feathers much like a bird. "Can I touch his feathers?"

Khenu smiled excitedly and sat up, moving himself closer to the wolf. First he scratched his ears...it would be rude just to yank a feather out. "Thanks Eclipse."

He moved his hands to the wolf's wings were he simply petted his feathers for a few moments. They did feel as soft as the angel one in his hair. He spied a feather that was close in size to the one he possessed and quickly plucked it out, trying not to cause the wolf pain.

Khenu stood then grabbed his boomerang and shoved it into his belt then picked up the bowl and towel his had used in the hand that wasn't holding the feather. Running them to the kitchen he cleaned up after himself then stopped by Aura again.

"Thanks again Eclipse, I'm going to go tie it in with the other one!" Giving them both a lopsided grin he raced off momentarily to his room.

((Argh cya, the computer's being hijacked from me.))

Aura watched him run off excitedly then laughed as Eclipse made a comment. "What do you mean 'I'm not babysitting him'? Did I ever say you were?" She laid back on her back, her head coming to rest in between Eclipse's front paws as she looked up at him. "I was not thinking it, I never thought of such a thing." She tried to hide a smile and reached her hands up, scratching behind his ears.

Eclipse nuzzled her shoulder then reseted his head on it as they continued the 'yes you were', 'no I wasn't' fight within the privacy of their mind-link. In a sleepy gesture, he splayed a wing out to cover Saradin's' sword, not intending to let it get lost.

They both soon closed their eyes, napping in the middle of the floor of the great hall, with Soulforge covered by Eclipse's wing.

...and he watched, as he had found his niche, something to keep him sane. Sentry duty...he was the silent guardian. Simply call his name, and he would appear. Almost servant-like, but what else was there to do. it at least gave him a good reason to constantly be on the move, as people had things to attend to, and this way he wouldn't go stir crazy. his hair had returned to normal, a the red color only a temporary side-effect of the Blood Shift. though he was still physically blind in his right eye.

Ardra had grown lonely over the past few days, none of whom she knew were around. Sighing she began to wander the hallways in search of some company. She was afraid to be alone...so afraid. She continued to wander the halls in a daze well into the night.

((Opps thought everyone had left...))

"....You're new here?"

The voice in the hallway seemed to come from nowhere in particular...

He simply faded again, the young woman having gone. Imagining enemies that weren't there, shadowboxing with his imagination to save his sanity, at least for a time...

Heavy rain matted Saradin's hair and slid off of his coat as he stood admiring the symbol now emblazoned in front of the manor. The engraved pheonix was doused in rains, appropriate for the place, yet ironic in its setting. The fire bird's wing parted allowing him entrance to the halls.

Inside, Saradin removed his coat while water still dripped from it and looked around him and momentarily his gaze fell upon the chair he occupied the first time he came here, only a few feet from the door. It was a strong memory that marked the start in his paradigm shift. The longer he lived under this roof, the clearer his purpose and intent became and the more solidified his faith in it was. Reminiscence could wait for times when old joys were all one had however. He was now in the middle of the great hall, where Aurahkah and Eclipse lay with the Soulforge wrapped in a towel and tucked beneath soft ebony feathers. Taking a seat nearby, he examined their restfull state, eventually slipping into his own slumber.
