Ivan had been looking around when Damien spoke to him again. He turned his gaze to the man and waited until he stopped speaking. He nodded his head and motioned for Damien to follow after him. Of course he knew where there were proper tools to bury the bodies. He would have done it before, but he had been too scared to stay out for too long, and not to mention it would take a lot of work. Ivan wondered what made the lady so scary to the man. Maybe he would ask him later....

~~~~~~~~~~
Elizabeth smiled as Willkin approached them. "I am sure that it is fine Will. Johnny and I are just returning from getting some milk for Kathrina." She motioned to the stuff in her hands.
"I'll take this," Johnny said as he took the bucket from Elizabeth and entered the house.
Elizabeth watched Johnny leave before looking back at Will. "He's a sweet kid," she said with a smile. "So--that wolf is secure, isn't he?" She hoped that he was. She didn't want him causing any more trouble for them.
Again Damien followed Ivan through the gangways. Soon they found a small room, where the monks had put their few tools and some things for cleaning. There was a lot of dust in the room and when Damien opened the door, he coughed a bit. He tried to hide his fangs with his hands. But he wasn’t sure, if he had been careful enough. He hoped the boy, would think, he had seen wrong, of he had gotten a glimpse of his fangs. ”I’ll dig the holes and you can help me carry the bodies, when I’m ready.” He would have been able, to do it alone, but it would have been a bit suspicious if he carried a few of the heavy bodies alone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Willkin nodded. ”I don’t think he will manage to get free. You don’t have to worry. But perhaps we should join the others now. I don’t want to let them wait any longer. Are the others awake as well?”He opened the door and held it open for Elizabeth.

Kathrina took the milk from Johnny and petted his had a little. "Thank you very much. Where are the others?"

Ivan hadn't seen when Damien opened the door to the small room. He had been looking around. He nodded and helped Damien get the tools before making his way back to where all the dead bodies were. He looked around at all the people who had been his friends..who had helped take care of him. Tears formed in his eyes and he quickly brushed them away. Without a word he began to go around and move some bodies so that they were closer together and easier to get to. He didn't look it, but he was still kind of strong.

~~~~~~~~~~~
"Yes, they are awake," Elizabeth said with a nod as she entered the house. "Thank you Will." She took a deep breath of the air. It all smelled really good. Elizabeth turned her gaze back to Will. "I will tell them that you need to get cleaned up a little."
"Mom," Johnny muttered as she pet his head. His cheeks flamed a bright red as he inched away. It embarrassed him when she did that in front of guests. "They are coming. I think Will needed to get cleaned up."
Damien was stronger again. He had rested enough in the dark room and Salivia's blooed had helped him as well. So it didn't take him too long, to dig one big hole in the garden. "I'm sorry, we can't burry them proper. But it would take to much time to dig a hole for every one of them." His hands were dirty, when he went to Ivan. "You are a strong little boy. It must have been hard to stay here..."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

”I see, so they will all be here soon, so we can have breakfast together. I’ll warm up some milk for all of us. Last night was really exciting again and you all should get a good breakfast. Can you get your brother and your sister as well? I don’t know, I hope Eric is already dressed.” Kathrina went into the kitchen with the milk and put a pot on the ofen to warm it up. A few minutes later she came back to the table and put some cups down for everyone.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Willkin left Elizabeth for a few minutes to clean his hands. When he came to the table, Kathrina already had set it. He took one of the free seats and waited for the others to come as well. Diane seemed to have helped Kathrina getting the breakfast ready. She was already there as well and sat not far away from him. ((I just decided to let her sit down, becuase it would be funny, if she had been standing without saying a word in the room for a few minutes))
Ivan looked at Damien and nodded a little. It had been hard to stay here, but he didn't have anywhere else to go. He didn't even know what he was going to do after this. He motioned to the bodies and went over to one, grabbing its arms before looking at Damien. He just wanted to get this done and over with. He wouldn't have to look at the bodies anymore and remember them....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"I got him ready Mom," Lyssa said as she entered the room with Eric. Both of them were dressed and cleaned up for breakfast. "I heard you guys in here, and so I went to get Eric up and ready."

Eric looked at the new girl and went to his mother, tugging on her skirts. He looked up at her and held his arms out. Ever since the encounter with the demon he had wanted to be close to his mother.

Elizabeth had already been sitting down at the table when Willkin came in and took his seat. She reached over and gently placed her hand on top of his.

Diane looked up when Willkin sat down and smiled a little. "Good morning Will." Her thoughts had trailed off to a distant place since she had finished helping Kathrina with breakfast, so she hadn't really noticed anyone else coming in.

Rosaline stood in the doorway of the kitchen and watched them for a moment before speaking. "Good morning everyone. Everything sure smells good."

The sun was shining hot on them, while they buried the dead monks. Damien did most of the work. The boy, Ivan, seemed to be too occupied to pay much attention on the other. When he finally stepped on the earth, he cleaned his hands on his blood spilled coat. He hadn’t have any time to clean his clothes, since they had fought with this damn demon. Looking at the claw marks and other traces, he was sure, it had been the same demon, that had killed the humans here. One day he would find him again and this time he wouldn’t let him go this easy. He murmured some words. ”Rest in peace and sat down in the grass. It had been very exhausting to work for hours in the bright sunlight. His reddish eyes hurt. Perhaps he should get back and look for Salivia and get some rest again. It would be better, not to make her suspicious. And if he stayed longer in the sun and drained himself, more vampiric features would appear. He still had to be careful.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Willkin gave Elizabeth a smile, when she put her hand on his. He caressed her fingers a little with his other hand and then turned to Diane to great her as well. "Good morning, Diane. " In the doorway apeared Rosalie. He wondered, if she wanted to give them company for breakfast. He knew, vampires usually didn't have to eat normal food. But of course they could. "Did you get some rest as well, Rosalie?" He moved a bit closer to Elizabeth, so everybody would have enough space at the table.
Kathrina gave ecerybody a cup of milk. "You should all eat enough today. The last few days were really exhausting and exciting and there is nothin better then a good breakfast." She smiled a little. Although they still had problems and one of them was missing, it was good to stay together and have some good time only for short.
Ivan let out a deep breath as he sat down in the gross near Damien. Finally all the bodies were buried and he was grateful for that. At least he wouldn't have to look at them, or smell them anymore. He wrapped his arms around his legs and pulled them close. Ivan's head rested on his knees so that his face was hidden from Damien. Finally, after being here all alone with the dead monks he had been able to have them buried. Silently he cried to himself, making sure that Damien wouldn't see the tears on his face.
~~~~~~~~~~

"Rest? Nah," Rosaline said with a shake of her head. "I walked around the village last night to keep watch. Make sure nothing else happened. I lost track of time and didn't realize how late it had become." She gave a small shrug as she walked further into the room. "I will be fine for a while." She wasn't sure if she really wanted to join them, or if they did indeed want her there to eat with them.

Elizabeth smiled a little more as Willkin caressed her fingers lightly. She looked up as Rosaline spoke from the doorway and Will addressed her. She frowned a little when the woman said she had not slept. "Are you sure that you will be okay?"

"Yes, I am sure," Rosaline said with a nod. "There are times when I have gone for days without sleep.

Of course Damien could hear the boy cry and smell the salty water. Gently he laid an arm around the others shoulder and tugged him a little closer to him. For the first time he understood the human next to him very well. He had faced something like this, when he had still been a small boy as well. The people of his village had been killed by something. He wasn’t sure, but it could have been Salivia. He didn’t say much, while sitting next to the boy. Damien thought it was better to let them have their own thoughts for now. Later he would have to leave the boy for a few hours and look for Salivia.

As Damien tugged him closer, Ivan sniffled and turned so that his head rested against the other man's chest. He wrapped his arms around Damien and just cried. He was already feeling better now that some of the stress was being allowed to leave. Not to mention there was some other living person here with him. It was a good change in how the days had been since the killings.
PostPosted: Sat Nov 21, 2009 6:27 am

Damien let the boy cry until his tears finally stopped. He wasn't used, to have a human this close to him, but he didn't move. He didn't touch the boy. He would only recognice, that his body was colder then usually and Damien wasn't in the mood to reveal himself and answer any questions. They would never see again, so there was no need in scaring this boy anymore. "You should get everything eatable you can find from the kitchen and leave for the next place, where humans live as soon as possible. This isn't a place, where the living should be staying anymore." He stared at the grave they had digged for the monks. He only hoped, somebody had been as kind as them and had burried the people of his own village long ago, too. Damien didn't know, who had killed his whole family and everybody, who had known him, while he had been with Salivia. He hadn't been able to protect anybody back then. Perhaps his misstress was right. If he fleed her again, he would only indanger someone he liked again. He didn't exactly know, what he felt for Diane, but he didn't want her to get into danger again because of him. Willkin and this other vampire would be able to protect her for him. He could only keep Salivia from them. There wasn't much, he could do. He only hoped, they weren't stupid enough to search for him.
And then he recognised something. Although the boy next to him seemed to have calmed down a little, he couldn't let him rest like this. Down in the crypt somebody was waking up. And she would be irritated, if she couldn't find him. "I'm sorry, but you have to hide yourself once more. There is a woman with me, who shouldn't see you. She can be as cruel as the demon you saw..." He didn't want to frighten Ivan, but if Salivia saw the boy, she would kill him for sure.

[[There are two options. Salivia will wake up now, if she finds the boy, Damien will try to save him. And if she doesn't sense anything, she will take him to her mansion immediatly. If Ivan survives, he could meet Willkin, Diane and the others eventually and tell them about Damien....]]

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kathrina listened to the conversation and looked up from the bread she was buttering for Eric. "If you want to rest, you can use my room. I want need it until tonight." She didn't know much amput vampires, but she knew, it had been a stressfull time for these heroes and there were more dangerous things going to cross their path.
Willkin nodded. "You shouldn't overstrain yourself, Rosalie. I don't know, if this is a good idea, but I'm sure, Diane wants to go after Damien. We don't know, what's lying in front of us." The lycan looked at Diane, when he had ended the first sentence. "And there is another thing, we have to decide. We can't let this mad wolf stay in the village. He is much to wily to let him unguarded. But if we take him with us, he will try to make us trouble again." Both options weren't good, but Willkin didn't want to kill the man like this. At the moment, he was their captive and he wouldn't hurt somebody, who wasn't able to defend himself.
Jack came to the table as well. He had been getting up a bit later then usually. The lumberjack hadn't heard the whole conversation. He went to Eric and set the boy on his lap. "Are you going to stay a bit longer this time or do you have to leave again?"
Ivan looked up at Damien when he spoke. When he mentioned the woman and that she could be as cruel as the demon who had been here before, he shuddered. He nodded slowly before pulling out a piece of paper and the stub of a writing utensil. Why do you travel with her then? He wrote on the paper before showing it to Damien.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Rosaline looked at both Kathrina and Willkin before speaking. "Thank you, Kathrina, you are very kind. Perhaps I will rest in a little while. I am more concerned, however, what we are going to do now." Her eyes locked on Diane. "I know that you want to go after Damien, to help him, but this may not be a good idea at the moment. We are all exhausted, and we do not know where he is. Also, like Will said, we have this wolf to worry about. He will make trouble for us again if given the chance. And let us not forget...the demon that took you. We have a lot of problems on our plate at the moment."

Eric snuggled against his father as he was picked up and placed on his lap. He listened to the whole conversation quietly.

"I think," Diane said slowly, "That we should eat this wonderful breakfast that Kathrina has made for us first, and then talk about this." In truth she was trying to figure out what to say to convince them that they needed to go after Damien.

Time was floating its own pace. Damien had been staying with Salivia for almost five years now. He had convinced her not to harm Diane and had put his head down all this time. Is usually sarcastic tone was gone. His featured hadn’t changed much. Although Salivia tried to force him drinking more blood, he managed to stay away from her when she was hunting for human blood. He still didn’t like to kill and somehow he was still thinking about the woman, who had offered her blood voluntary to him a few times. But this was in the past. He knew, he wouldn’t see her again. There was no reason to remember her name anyway. First he had missed his old life. For the first time, he had have something like friends and somebody to care about.

Now his eyes had lost some life. He was even talking less than usual. He was a butler for Salivia. He was doing what she said, if she wasn’t too cruel. But he wouldn’t get friendly with her. And although he wasn’t rude or anything, he would let her feel, that she couldn’t win his emotions. She had only captured his body not his soul. Although he was keeping this part well hidden – deep under a shell of cold behavior.

“Damien, come here for a moment.” Salivia was standing in front of the bookshelf again. “You really should clean up more carefully. I can’t find my maps. And were the hell did you put my ancestors’ history?” She still had this sweet tongue. Of course she was still trying to win Damien over. But he still didn’t hunt with her. She didn’t put too much pressure on him. She knew, he wouldn’t flee again. Not until one of this bloodbags was alive, he was caring so much. One night she would seduce him again. And then she would own him completely. Saalivia really didn’t like to share. Especially not a man she had lain her eyes on.

She had taken Damien with her to her castle. The boy in the monastery had stayed hidden, when she woke up. Damien somehow had managed to save this little soul. And this boy had been the last human, he had been talking to in a friendly way. Salivia didn’t allow him to have any contact to the people in the village around the castle. Perhaps she worried, that he would send a message to somebody. Or she worried, that somebody was still searching for him. Damien shock his had. No, this was impossible. Nobody would really miss him. He almost hoped, that Diane had forgotten about him by now.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Willkin and Elizabeth had settled down in the small lumberjack village. After their adventure they decided to give themselves some peace and Jack and his family had been very friendly to them. They had even helped them to build themselves their own house. Of course they had been searching for Damien a long time. But after two years Willkin had told Diane, that he didn’t think, that the grumpy vampire would come back. If they didn’t find any sign of him, they had to admit … yes, perhaps he didn’t want to be found. They didn’t know, what really happened back then, but Willkin knew, that Damien would have found a way to contact them, if he really wanted to do so.
Today he had been hunting in the forest with Jack. The two men came back with some rabbits. Of course it was a pity to kill these small guys, but the meat would be a good addition to their usual food and the fur would be warm in the winter. It was already autumn.
Jack was holding a rabbit as well. But this one wasn’t dead like the one, Wilkin was carrying. They had found a small one, when they had been searching for the borrow and decided to catch it alive. At least they had something to show the kids. Eric, who wasn’t that small anymore, was hurrying towards his father, when they reached the village.
((I don’t know, what Diane and Rosalie did. Perhaps she is still searching for Damien. Somehow I can’t think about her staying with Willkin and Elizabeth. Their luck must hurt her a little, because she lost the one, she loved.))
((I will post on this soon...I am almost done reading through it all....and I do have some ideas...so it has been five years that Damien has been gone? I say that Diane has been off with Rosaline trying to find him...perhaps she will show up soon to visit with Will and Elizabeth...and I can have the boy show up there shortly after...kinda give them new hope....maybe perhaps the boy had been trained to track? And although it is hard to track a vampire..he tracked Damien and Salivia down to the castle? So he can tell them that he maybe last saw Damien alive about a year previous? And what about Xavier and his brother?....oooh...thought! maybe Elizabeth could be....*dramatic drum roll* pregnant!....I think that was the reason the demons killed her right? Is that what we discussed before?))
It had been nearly five years since that terrible night, but Ivan was no longer a scared child. He had stayed hidden when the man had told him to, and shortly after him and the woman had left. Ivan hadn't been able to explain it, but he had little trouble following the two. Before the monks had all been killed Ivan had been trained to hunt, to track. They had never told him why---but he had been. So he had followed the two back to the castle where the woman stayed, but there was no way that he could get inside. He wouldn't have risked it anyway.
So Ivan had been training now for five years to be able to fight, to protect others unlike the monks he couldn't protect those years ago. Now most people just saw him as a wondering mute boy. Oh there had been times when somebody or something stirred up trouble where he was staying, but that was soon addressed. Right at this moment Ivan was traveling through the woods towards a small lumberjack town that somebody had told him about. He had been traveling for a while and needed a little bit of rest. Perhaps somebody there would give him a place to sleep in exchange for him doing some work for them.
~~~~~~~~

Eric had been playing around with some of the other kids, his brother and sister included when he happened to glance over and see his father and Willkin coming back. "Hey guys, I'll be back," he shouted as he kicked the ball towards Johnny. Ever since Elizabeth and Willkin had settled down in this town, Johnny had become more active and talkative. It seemed the shyness had worn off. The now nine year old ran towards his father.

"How'd it go?" Eric asked with a grin up at his father. He had been once or twice with them, but the memory of meeting that demon several years ago still lingered with him. Sometimes he would have nightmares that would make him wake up, screaming.

~~~~~~~~~~
Elizabeth sang softly to herself as she moved around their small home, cleaning. It was nice to finally nice to have a place to call their own. A small smile spread across her face as she stopped a moment to look around. They had the main room and then a little after that was the kitchen. They had also put in several bedrooms, just in case they ever had guests.
Finally Elizabeth shook her head and moved towards the kitchen. Willkin would probably be back soon, and she wanted to have something to eat fixed for him. She continued to sing as she looked through what they had to eat. They had been doing pretty well for themselves these past several years. For some odd reason, Damien and Diane popped into her head. She sighed and closed her eyes for a moment.
When Damien had disappeared they had continued to look for him for a couple of years, but then had called it quits. It was then that Diane had left with that other vampire, Rosaline. They hadn't seen her since then, and Elizabeth was sad about that. She had considered Diane her friend, but she knew that the other woman could not rest until she found out exactly what had happened to Damien. Although Diane didn't want to admit to it, she was falling very deeply in love with the vampire.
