No one calls you it because no one knows or remembers that you name is james. 3nodding rolleyes Its also convenient to call you shadow because its part of your name and its right there. 3nodding

You know, I was getting nostalgic, so I googled on Capitain Planet. There is still a website, and while reading some critique of the show, I realized something very interesting.
The least knowledgeable character is always given the power to light things on fire.
Why is this? You all remember Wheeler, from the United States (some representative we had...) who knew little to ziltch on the enivornment, and who's best use of his ring was to melt the locks on his prison cells after being captured by the bad guy.
You realize had he set fire to the bad guy's oil rigs, or set and open flame near almost any one of the hazardous subjects used by the enemies, he would have blown up half the earth.
And, yet again, Garet, who is seens as the least knowledgable, the most rustic, with the least common sense, is given the power to blow things up.
Is this a recurring theme? Does it have to do with our conceptions of fire as misguided, reckless, hard to control?
A point to ponder...
while I try to figure out where on Ebay I can buy one of the Planeteer's rings. I call Water.

Wow,someone that actually remembers that show. The fire one from Ronin Warriors was different,he was a bit smoother I remember.(Does anyone know his name?) Another example of this elementism(like raceism) is Mushra from Shinzo, not very bright, powerful,WAY tempermental, not too much of a personality, rather harsh,blunt... he fills 'em all...
